  • "A Lovely lodge tucked away on the banks of Rudyard lake, with easy access if you fancy a walk along the shores or a meal/drink at the local hotel (literally a 2 min walk)."

Great communication from the owner which allowed our arrival to run smoothly. The lodge itself was spotlessly clean with everything we required for a lovely weekend away with friends, even the hot tub was on so no long wait to warm it up ⭐️. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

  • "We had a very relaxing stay."

The property is well maintained and very comfortable. It's worth noting that the road to the property is very rough and muddy. Also slightly disappointed with the communication from the owners, a welcome email wasn't received, so we were unaware the hot tub wouldn't be available on our final night. However when my husband spoke to the owner he made sure we were able to use it. There was no information in the property except for a few leaflets left by previous holidaymakers. In the past we have been used to a folder or something to let you know about the property and surrounding area. Thanks to Google though we were able to investigate the area during our stay.

  • "The Lodge was lovey , everything we needed was included , place is lovely and picturesque, very homely , we would definitely recommend this place, the only downside about the cabin was we only actually had the hot tub for 6 days as they empty the hot tub before you have left so at 4 pm on our last day when we were enjoying a relaxing last day before back to reality , we had to get out of the tub and couldn’t use it again , I know this is so they can get it ready for the next person but I do believe this should be made clear BEFORE booking and this also could be done in the morning of departure I appreciate it takes time to heat but we use hot water in ours when we need a quick turn around ."

The address is incorrect as it is listed as The Drive and it’s is actually The crescent , The drive is a dead end and hard to turn around which we found out the hard way,

We took 2 dogs and 2 teenage children. Plenty of space for us all, with an enclosed garden for the dogs and run around communal field for all. It was such a lovely spot - with a beautiful walk around Rudyard Lake, the miniature Steam train runs along one side of the lake. There is paddle board groups and boat hire and newfoundlands train on the lake. Can recommend the sunday carvery at the Rudyard Hotel, and 2 Cafe's all within walking distance. There is a disused railway line walk to Leek too. The hot tub was amazing we were in it every night! A dog friendly area all round. Thank you Matt & Mark!

The hosts were easily contacted and provided a simple and hassle free check in/out. And let's not forget the well maintained and amazing hot tub! Only one criticism is the small sofas for relaxing in the evenings, as there was only room for 4 people even though the lodge sleeps 6.

Lovely comfortable and clean lodge, secluded location fantastic hot tub and walks on doorstep - everything we wanted. Kids (13/19) felt the bunk beds were a little on the small side but thats a minor point. All in all a huge thumbs up - Matt was only a phone call away if needed

the large hot tub was brilliant and under cover from the elements. We had a heavy fall of snow and with the owner decorating the property with a Christmas tree and other decorations it was even more magical. Each morning I took a two minute stroll down to the lake to feed the ducks and watch the anglers. Would book this property again without a doubt. We had some issues with the hot tub that we caused by pressing some wrong buttons but the owner resolved this immediately even though he was in France on holiday! We really felt at home in the lodge (there were 6 of us and a dog) and found the location to be exactly what we needed. Well equipped and the hot tub was a much enjoyed bonus. It would have been useful if the shower cubicles came with a basket or somewhere inside them to put items such as a bar of soap. The lack of this led to us dropping the sink soap dish and having to pay for the breakage which we felt could have been avoided. Id the owners had ever used the showers they would have noticed this lack immediately and so we can't give it a higher approval rating.

The lodge was lovely with fabulous bathrooms ( showers were marvellous). Beds were really comfortable. The hot tub was fun and the owners were frequently on site to make sure it was clean and operating properly. Matt and Mark were both very helpful and were on hand when we had queries. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The only thing to watch out for if you have dogs is that the garden is not currently secure and the dogs could access a communal space, which in busier times might have been an issue. There was an outside verandah space which was secure but not suitable for dog toileting. I think the garden is to be made secure in the future. I would recommend the lodge, and the position by the lake was a great spot for a holiday with access to sailing, canoeing and rowing.
