  • "We had a 2 night stay and it was really lovely."

The cottage is beautiful and has everything you need provided. The paddock for the dog was fantastic. The owners dogs come to say hello but they can't get into the paddock which is secure for guests pets. The owner was lovely and happy to advise on local shops and restaurants etc. It's very quiet and we had a wonderful break. Highly recommend

  • "My family and I have just spent the last 3 weeks at 2 Barn Cottages and highly recommend it."

We have stayed at many self catering establishments in the past but never experienced the high quality that AnnMarie provides from the furniture beds cutlery and crockery etcetera. Then to have the use of the field outside our door with the orchard was a brilliant extra our little Cavashon loved it. So if you get the chance to visit it you won't be disappointed Well done Anne-Marie we miss you already.

  • "We just spent the night at Barn Cottages for a wedding."

I can definitely recommend this place - absolutely perfect especially if there’s an event or wedding at Iscoyd Park it’s less than 2 min drive away. Also AMAZING for dogs and puppies - we brought our puppy and she absolutely loved running around in the garden area as it was completely enclosed. The rooms were very comfy, had everything we needed, and felt very clean. Owner is also very very helpful and gave us some great advice and suggestions.

  • "On Thursday morning the owner knocked on the door, she said that she had a problem, the Saturday (the day of our departure) the next guest would like to arrive at 11am as they have a wedding to attend."

“ not a problem “ I said, “we’ll be out for nine thirty “ giving her time to clean the room. When we booked the cottage it was for myself, my mother and my daughter plus a dog. On Tuesday, my daughter had to leave to go back to work. on Thursday, my sister and her husband called me and asked if it would be okay to come visit us at the cottage. I replied that it wouldn’t be a problem. they arrived Thursday late afternoon after travelling from Bristol, they intended to book a room in Whitchurch for a couple of nights that I said they might as well, stay with us as we have booked the cottage and didn’t see it as an issue. On Saturday morning we packed and cleaned the room the best we could, to help the owner out! We have just finished putting the luggage in our cars and the owner confronted me and stated I had broken the contract and she was not happy that I allowed my sister and brother-in-law to stay for two nights. yes, I should’ve has asked her permission, but I didn’t think there would be a problem. The way she humiliated me in front of my family was uncalled for, especially as I helped her out by leaving early. The cottage was lovely the owner not so !

  • "A wonderful stay!"

The nicest self catering we have ever stayed in. The place was spotlessly clean, excellent facilities for self catering-everything you need and more. The hosts could not be more welcoming and helpful for advice for the local area and we were made to feel so welcome and at ease. I called them a couple of times for advice and they happily told about places to visit and places to park. The ironworks was well worth a visit. Thank you for a lovely break- It was shame we had to leave! Thank you!

  • "A lovely property in the countryside - lots of paths nearby for walks."

The cottage was really well equipped and all lovely and clean and great spec. Lovely bathrooms in particular (important for me!). The only downside for us was the lack of sound proofing with the next door cottage (joined by an interconnecting door). And so we were very conscious that any noise our dog made would be heard by those next door (they didn’t have a dog) so it did mean in the mornings rushing to get up quickly when our dog squeaked to let us know he was awake (if we were at home or it was somewhere more isolated we would usually just ignore him for a bit). But that was probably our fault for not reading the description properly - the cottages can be rented together for a bigger group.

  • "We had a lovely holiday at the barn."

Albert and Freddie were very impressed with the large paddock they could run about in without fear of them getting out. The barn was very comfortable. Great decor and a very comfy bed. Really light with the 2 sets of French doors out on to the decking area. We had a couple of barbecue’s as the weather was so lovely. All the recommended pubs in the welcome book were dog friendly which was a bonus. Loads of lovely places to visit, Chirk with its Castle, The British Ironwork Centre, Oswestry is definitely worth a visit.

Very glad that you were able to relax and enjoy the cottage and the surrounding area-including the pubs. Thank you for your lovely feedback and we would be pleased to welcome you back. Annemarie Property Owner

The outside patio and paddock are simply perfect if you take your dog, ours absolutely loved the paddock and local early walk around the local field. Ann-Marie and Jennifer are simply perfect hoist nothing is too much trouble for then if you need anything. Local country parks pubs and shops all very close by at Whitchurch. The only thing to be aware of is that you do have to drive to get to anywhere i.e Pub or Shop you could not walk to any of these but in our view the peace, quiet and tranquility made up for this. This was by far the most healthy summer holiday we have had for many years as we would normally go abroad all inclusive!!!
