  • "I'm disappointed to share my experience with this property."

It felt neglected and wasn't suitable for rental. The cleanliness was subpar throughout, with the kitchen lacking basic essentials, and what was available was often broken or too dirty to use without professional cleaning. The freezer had leftover food that had leaked, the bathroom was not hygienic with hair left in the shower and dirty tissue around the toilets and there was a general damp issue. Additionally, the downstairs toilet door wouldn’t close, and the ensuite sink was blocked. While the garden could be used, it was unfortunately covered in dog mess upon our arrival and littered with rubbish. The cupboards were filled with paint tins and it genuinely felt like the property wasn’t finished or ready to be rented out. I submitted a complaint to Sykes along with over 20 photos documenting the property's condition but haven't received any feedback yet. Although the owner did send a cleaner on the second day of our stay—after we had requested he did not through Sykes—it felt insufficient given the level of cleaning and maintenance required, especially since we had our dog with us and the cleaner was anxious of dogs. Overall, I expected better and was left highly dissatisfied. We had to stay for commitments in the area but counted down the days until we could leave.
