Lg fridge/freezer, microwave. 2 ovens separate hob. So good to have utility room with washer & dryer. No probs re wi fi. pleasant conservatory. Table & chairs to sit outside & I believe a bbq. Parking right outside the door. Very helpful to unload suitcases. Easy to turn car round. A lg grassy area to exercise dogs at the bk of premises. You can also meet George the turkey & 2 ducks. You really do feel at home. We spoke and met John (one half of the ownership) and he was very friendly and approachable. The place is in an ideal situation for all the sightseeing and the views across country are awe inspiring. The only downside to the bungalow is that the disability shower room is quite a way from the bedrooms which was a struggle for my mom who has breathing problems and there are no disability handles in the wet room which meant mom didn’t feel safe to have a shower in there. But they are only minor things and didn’t distract to the loveliness of the bungalow. Our evenings were spent in the beautiful conservatory.

It really was like a home from home! Jane and John had thought of everything that could possibly be needed, even an ‘On no! I’ve forgotten my..’ kit which was a lovely touch. They were just next door if we had any issues (which we didn’t). There was tea, coffee, milk and fresh flowers to welcome us on arrival too. The property is very spacious with a lovely bright conservatory. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. One of our party had difficulty walking and we needed a shower that was easy to walk in to. This property was perfect as everything was on one level. We could park right outside the door. They could use either the wet room or the walk-in shower in the bathroom. It was a great base for visiting surrounding areas. We drove to Matlock, Bakewell, Lincoln, Chesterfield, Clumber Park, Welbeck Abbey and Sherwood Forest. Bolsover castle was about a 15 minute walk and there was a Morrisons about the same distance nearby. I would definitely come back again!

The fixtures and lounge furniture are very dated and quite dull. The cottage is very nice and tidy, and well equipped. The warm and light conservatory is a nice place to sit when it's raining or when it's colder. We liked the furniture in the living room, also the lighting is well thought through. There is good parking space at the back of the house (hence off the street). The rooms are nice (each one has it's colour, with corresponding coloured sheets and towels). The beds are very comfortable, the mattress is good quality. The dining room is comfortable and cosy with a walk-through into the lounge with laminate flooring throughout. The furniture is comfortable and clean and there is a TV for entertainment. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable with clean and lovely smelling linen. If you are like us a pack far too many clothes then you'll be pleased to know there is loads of cupboard space! The bathrooms are modern, spotlessly clean and the showers are lovely with heated towel rails - there are more than enough big fluffy towels for everyone. Extras - fresh eggs, home-made scones, jam, clotted cream, teabags, salt/pepper. There is also a box in the laundry room with "things you might have forgotten" in - shampoo, razor, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sewing kit etc. The owners have done everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and we only saw them a couple of times so they didn't intrude on our time there. The owners are lovely people, who helped when needed but also respect our privacy. Comfortable beds, nice showerrooms. It was perfect in every way. So much to explore in the area. And as a bonus, the weather was great during our 3 weeks stay. When we want to explore all the things we did not come to we will certainly go back to Cherry Fields.
