"A well equipped property in a beautiful setting."
The beds were comfortable and the rooms a good size. Had a very relaxing, peaceful break.
-
"Spotlessly clean but some of the furnishings and crockery could do with an update."
Lovely tranquil location for a very peacefull holiday.

"We recently stayed at The Stables as a family of 4 (children are 5 and 7) and we don't have a bad word to say."
The cottage is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings, and has everything you need. The cottage was spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, plenty of soft towels, and enough jigsaws to entertain us the whole week. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped and the private, enclosed garden was ideal for the children. The Stables is also ideally located for days out, with a week packed with visits to National Trust destinations, Ironbridge, Telford Town Park (fantastic for the kids), Quarry Splash Park in Shrewsbury and a walk along the river, and Ludlow Farm. We also visited The Pound in Leebotwood for some delicious pie, which has a small play area outside. The Stables is definitely somewhere we will book again in the future. It's ideal for families as well as those wanting to get away for some uninterrupted peace and quiet. Just wonderful!

"A superb cottage in peaceful surroundings."
It is very comfortable and well equipped and we had a lovely week. It may seem churlish to say but our only suggestion would be that some of the cups / mugs have become chipped and could do with replacement but it caused us no problem whatsoever. We would highly recommend this lovely accommodation to anyone who wants a peaceful and restful holiday.
Thanks for your feedback and the heads up for the cups and mugs, I’ll get on that! So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

"We had a lovely week at The Stables."
It’s a very well appointed, cosy cottage with stunning views. Clean, with modern fittings, well laid out for our family of four and the gardens are beautiful. Centrally located for walks and Shropshire sights. We particularly enjoyed the Carding Mill Valley which is just 15 mins drive, and Ludlow and Stokesay Castles are about half an hour away. We also had a great day out on the steam trains on the Severn Valley Railway.
Thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated. So glad you enjoyed your stay here in Shropshire. Lu and Mike Property Owner

"We had a great time at The Stables."
It was so comfortable and cosy with everything we needed for a lovely holiday. Beautiful views from every window! The beds were super comfy and it was great to have extra blankets available. We loved the retro board games and really appreciated all the leaflets, guides and maps on the local area. We had some brilliant days out, we love Shropshire!
Thank you for your feedback, it's good to know the old games are getting used every now and then! We look forward to welcoming you back to Shropshire in the future. Lu and Mike Property Owner

"The Stables is a comfortable and warm property."
It has a roomy kitchen, with lots of storage space, with good facilities, cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and hot water. The bathroom has an excellent shower. There is underfloor heating in lounge, kitchen, hallway and bathroom which works well and has an easy override option for additional heat. The bedrooms are heated by electric wall panels which are efficient. There is a good selection of local interest books and guides and an easy to work large screen TV. The hosts live opposite and are responsive and there is a very good view south from the property to the woodland on Lodge Hill. A private walled garden can be accessed from the lounge via a set of double doors, the garden is well maintained with fine flower beds, shrubs and lawn. The property is in a quiet location and a very good choice if you wished to explore Shropshire and the nearby Longmynd either on foot or by bike. There is a railway station at nearby Church Stretton or Shrewsbury with access into Powys. Shrewsbury has a regular Saturday morning Parkrun which is very popular and a regular very good indoor Market, excellent for fruit and vegetables.
Thank you very much for your feedback, it’s greatly appreciated. Lu and Mike Property Owner

"This is a perfect cottage with a wonderful view which is well equipped and ideally located for visiting Shropshire's attractions."
The trolley provided was very useful for transporting luggage the 50m from the car to the cottage and vice-versa. Lu was very helpful by removing all feather bedding from the stables before we arrived to accommodate a feather allergy. We had a really enjoyable holiday. Thanks.

"We have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages over the years, and The Stables was one of the best."
It was light and spacious with amazing views of the surrounding countryside from every window. The walled garden gave us privacy and was very attractive. Lu and Mike, who live in the house opposite, were the perfect hosts and were friendly and helpful when needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave. We would definitely go back again.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and would be very happy to welcome you here again. Property Owner

"The stables is a great place to stay."
Very clean and well furnished. Thank you to Lu the owner for being accommodating with the fact we had a wheelchair. We really enjoyed our stay.
-
"A comfortable cottage that offered a beautiful small walled garden to enjoy on the sunny days and a comfortable, bright lounge to relax in during the rainy spells."
The cottage is well situated and day trips to Ludlow, Iron Bridge and the many ruined castles, priories and abbeys are easily achieved.
-
"Excellent cottage, like staying with friends."
Accurate listing. Although personal choice, option of a thicker duvet in the double bedroom would help with the variable summer weather. Appreciated the welcome pack but milk would be useful. We found some at a pop-up farm shop which was still open when we arrived. There are no shops or pub near.
-
"The car parking space was unsuitable because it was overhung by trees which continually dropped debris and a lot of very sticky sap which was very difficult to remove."
After the first night and having spoken to the owner, we were allowed to park on the drive. The controls for the four hot plates were unworkable even though we followed the instructions so we were unable to use them. We informed the owner who did try to assist. The double bedroom was cold. It needed a warmer duvet and better space heating.
We are so sorry you had so many problems during your stay. The trees have not been a problem for anyone else, it's rather unfortunate that your stay was at the time they were blossoming. We did our best to help you clean your car at the time and found you a different spot. The hob works perfectly well, I think you had difficulty understanding how best to use the different rings. When I explained this to you I thought we had solved the problem for you. It's a shame you didn't ask for help again as I would have been happy to assist. I 'm not sure why the room was cold as the heater was on when you left the property and the room was overly hot. There were clear instructions as to how to use it but perhaps you struggled with those as well. Property Owner

"A great place to stay."
Everything was just as shown in the photographs. We enjoyed our stay and are returning next May. Visiting local towns like Shrewsbury we used the park and ride and they were excellent and made life easy. The only thing that could have improved our stay would have been to have had a parasol for the table and chairs in the private walled garden, but we coped.
Thank you so much for your feedback, it's really appreciated. We are so sorry about the parasol and absolutely kicking ourselves as we had put it away for the winter and completely forgotten to get it out. If only you had popped over or messaged, we could have found it for you. Point taken over some comfy chairs, we'll get that one sorted straight away. Looking forward to seeing you again next year, enjoy the rest of the summer. Lu and Mike Property Owner
-
"Pleasant, peaceful surroundings with great views."
Private walled garden was a bonus. Cottage had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Shame about the distance from car park to front door which in heavy rain would be unpleasant, although property description had pre warned us. None less would stay again.
-
"A comfortable spacious property with a great outlook and private walled garden."
The only negative was the distance from parking to the property which we were aware of from the property description.

"This delightful cottage had everything we could want."
A real home from home. It was lovely and cosy to come back to after a day out when the temperature was sub zero. The garden looked very inviting, a pity we couldn't use it because of the weather! I would definitely recommend this accommodation and will be back in the future.
-
"The Stables was an excellent stay."
Spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Everything we needed to make the stay relaxing was provided, and the local walks and pubs were both excellent. Definitely recommend and would stay again - great for exploring Shropshire
Thank you for your great feedback, it was lovely to meet visitors from the other side of the world! We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again sometime. Lu and Mike Property Owner

"A lovely home from home for a very relaxing holiday."
In fact, the best holiday cottage we have ever booked, and we've visited quite a lot. We loved the spacious accommodation and the decor. The owners live nearby but were unobtrusive and friendly. We plan to return to enjoy the peaceful location and explore more of Shropshire.
Thank you so much for your very kind comments, your feedback means a lot to us. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you both again soon. Lu and Mike Property Owner

"Lovely cottage."
Very private walled garden. Owners live opposite so there if needed but otherwise left us alone. Lots to do in the area and nice places to eat nearby. Quite a bit of wildlife visible from the garden. Very comfortable two weeks.
-
"Beautiful location and thoughtfully equipped, we had a great stay."
Thank you!
-
"Lu and Mike are very warm & welcoming, concerned & generous hosts."
We felt so at home as soon as we walked in - spacious, bright, well equipped, clean and comfy. Really enjoyed the heatwave, so we could make full use of the cosy & private walled garden. Experienced so many interesting places in the vicinity, wish we could have stayed longer.
Thank you so much for your feedback, we hope to welcome you again when you're back in the UK . Lu and Mike Property Owner

"A super cottage, everything was perfect."
Lovely walking in the area, particularly from Church Stretton. No problem with the distance from parking area to the cottage, there is a trolley. Absolutely excellent all round.
Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate your very kind comments. Lu and Mike. Property Owner

"Beautiful cottage in wonderful surroundings."
The owner made us welcome and ask us to let her know if any help required. We found however that one of the twin beds in the second room were not fit for use. The mattress had been replaced but the base had not. The furniture in that Room had seen better days. I think the crockery could also be replaced. However we this is a perfect place to relax and visit the surrounding area.
Thank you for your feedback, we are very sorry you had a problem with one of the divans. We will be changing them both as soon as possible for more comfortable beds. Property Owner

"This is a lovely place to stay."
The cottage is very pretty on the outside and all mod cons on the inside. The owners welcome you with little presents ; tea, coffee, gin & tonic and some pretty toiletries in the bathroom. The surroundings are beautiful, with sweeping lawns out front leading to fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. There's a very well cared for private garden. The whole place is lovely and quiet and peaceful. The owners are very kind, considerate and helpful. It's within easy reach of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and lots of other places of interest. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Stables to anyone.
Thank you for your very kind feedback Christine, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay in the Stables. We are about to deadhead the roses in the garden, it could take some time! Property Owner
-
"The property has a real atmosphere of comfort and homeliness."
Even with the instructions, one or two of the appliances e.g. the hob, take a bit of practise but, the kitchen is very well equipped for someone who loves to cook. We appreciated all the little extras. The property has wonderful views, fabulous garden, and the hamlet is well appointed for the towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton. Shropshire is a beautiful county with diverse landscape and great market towns. My only small niggle is that the mattress on the first single bed in the twin room was lumpy and probably needs replacement. I was however, able to use the second single bed which was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property.
Thank you for your very kind feedback. We’re so sorry you had a problem with the mattress but very pleased you have brought it to our attention. 2 new mattresses are ordered and on their way! Property Owner

"Unquestionably, a wonderful place to stay for a holiday."
Magnificent views from The Stables and we were surprised how spacious it was. A beautiful and private walled garden to enjoy the flowers and sit outside. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. Church Stretton is easily reached for shops/restaurants etc. Lots of walks from the doorstep and in the vicinity. Lots to see and do for everyone We were very impressed and would not hesitate to return in the future..
Thank you for your very kind feedback, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay in The Stables and look forward to welcoming you again. Lu and Mike. Property Owner

"Beautiful, "away from it all" cottage."
Warm, comfortable, well equipped and standing in amazing surroundings, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Stables. Having our own walled garden with furniture (and most days with sunshine too) was a real bonus after walking some of the Shropshire Hills. The owners left some delicious treats and toiletries. Definitely a cottage we will return to. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for your feedback, we look forward to welcoming you to the Stables again soon. Lu and Mike. Property Owner

"Wonderful property."
Perfect location for exploring the area whilst being in a very peaceful setting. Everything was exactly as we had hoped. For absolute perfection, some maps showing the footpaths from the cottage would be amazing!
