• "Lovely cottage/house in a great setting, well equipped and serviced."

  Lovely hot tub and seating area. Note front garden is enclosed but don’t let your dog loose in there if agile as will be over the wall. Hot tub area is not enclosed. The views are beautiful and paddocks and footpaths to walk. A lovely peaceful haven and base for the Staff/Derbys moors and peaks.

  Only thing could do with a spare fridge as with 8 people in a self catering property a 2nd fridge would make a huge difference. Perfect location for a chill but also walks are available .

• "We arrived to see a beautiful farmhouse in the middle of rolling hills and fields with 360`views ."

  As three generational family holiday there was something for everyone. Well equipped family kitchen / eating area to sit and chat around enjoy good food, drinks and games. All 4 bedrooms are a good size. Can't fault a thing. Mike the owner/ neighbour so friendly and helpful the 3 grandson loved watching him in the forge. Mitch the dog his righthand helper was always pleased to see us. We had a fantastic week in the Peak District exploring everything we could locally, lots of walking , fun and laughter had by all all, thinks Mike for a very memorable uk holiday.

• "We had a really enjoyable 2 weeks here, although slightly dampened by the weather."

  The house was as advertised and was nice and roomy and a comfortable size for our party of 5. The house is well equipped and has a nice large kitchen and dining room. We enjoy cooking and made great use of the large cooker. Michael, the owner and host, is very welcoming and responsive to any requests and was a mine of information on the local area. When we informed him of a problem we had with the dishwasher I have never seen an integrated dishwasher replaced so quickly in all my life. Another bonus with the property was the outdoor hot tub which was put to very good use. There are lots of things to do in the area to suit all ages; such as Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, local cave systems and museums. A lot of the Peak District towns and markets are well worth a visit. There are also a lot of pubs hotels and restaurants to suit all tastes. We would gladly come back to this area for another summer holiday.

• "We had a fantastic holiday in the Farmhouse."

  It is in a beautiful location and Mike the owner is very helpful. We were celebrating my sons 40th birthday and Mike brought over a lovely bottle of champagne which was very much appreciated. The beds are exceptionally comfortable which really helps make a holiday. The HotTub was cleaned daily and we made good use of this even in the rain. The property could definitely do with a bigger fridge as mentioned in previous reviews and we also felt a mop to dry up the utility room floor after using the HotTub would have been very helpful.

• "Great house, comfortably accommodated 6 of us."

  Comfortable beds, clean and tidy. Kitchen well equipped. Plenty of parking. Hot tub was great and enjoyed. The hot tap in the main bathroom needs to be fixed and the utility room would benefit from a couple of plug sockets. Also a broom and mop would be handy, floor does get wet when coming in form the hot tub. Only 1 bin bag for the large bin! We enjoyed our week at The Farmhouse, Mike was welcoming and on hand if needed.

  Went to celebrate my 30th birthday (st Patrick’s weekend) All amenities were fit for purpose and owner Mike was lovely! Hot tub was clean and ready to use on arrival! House throughout was clean and tidy, bedding was clean and readily done, towels available for showers and hot tub too! All in all a fabulous place all round. Spacious too! And a beautiful location..views were brilliant to wake up to! Thank you Mike for our lovely stay!

• "Wow All decorated for Christmas it was a great surprise ."

  We had a Christmas themed day on the Tuesday planned .Secret Santa .Christmas brunch and a Christmas meal in evening while all dressed up for a Murder Mystery. Good fun .The farm house is gorgeous and we loved the hot tub.We couldn't find a dust pan and brush maybe the elves had it !! Otherwise all perfect

  Really couldn’t fault it. Clean, comfortable and very spacious yet warm and cosy. Very well equipped kitchen making home cooking very easy. The hot tub was wonderful and even though it was chilly being November we used it every evening. Mike, the owner, was very helpful. Ideally situated for visiting Stoke on Trent, Matlock, Leek and other visitor attractions.

  The views are stunning. The attention to detail by Mike and his team at the property is outstanding. Every room in the house was spotlessly clean. The gardens are beautiful and there’s a paddock to exercise your dog. The hot tub was used by us everyday and was cleaned each morning. We highly recommend a stay at The Farmhouse. • "A really good holiday cottage in a lovely rural setting with plenty of amenities and things to do in the local area."

  The cottage was plenty large enough for 8 of us and was comfortable and well appointed. The owner was on hand, very friendly and happy to help with any small issues that cropped up. The kitchen and dining equipment (crockery, glasses etc.) could have been slightly better but this didn't impact on our holiday at all. The hot tub was a real bonus and very well maintained. A very good property from which to enjoy the surrounding countryside.

• "A few basic provisions would be nice, there was no hand soap in most of the toilets, no cleaning sprays for kitchen."

  The only fridge for 8 people was an undercounter one we managed as such but others may not. Like i say these are only very minor faults but overall most things were great, there was an abundance of towels for everyone the hot tub was superb and plenty of room for all guests and everyone reported that the beds were comfy. Mike the owner was very helpful and welcoming we spent quite abit of time talking to him about his plans and projects for his 'small holding', we would definitely return at some point

• "Fabulous cottage in a lovely location."

  You couldn't get better views. Clean and well equipt with good facilities. Mike was very helpful and welcoming, nothing was any trouble. We were slightly worried that it didn't have an electric car charger, as advertised, but even with a fully electric car we managed no problem as there were so many local chargers around. There's lots to do in the local area, too much to fit into 1 week. Recommend Luds church, Biddulph grange, Trentham monkey forrest, Rudyard lake and Tittesworth reservoir. We had a great holiday and would more than happily go back.

  The owner was so friendly and facilitating! Hot tub is a lovely added feature. Beautiful surroundings (our dog would have loved all the fields and walks)! The cottage itself is really spacious for groups and also well equipped - I did take things of our own but most of which we didn’t use as it was already there!   Front garden is small but enclosed for dogs to run around, the owner let us use the fields he owns for our dogs to run off lead. The owner lives on site and responds to any problems you may have he also pointed out Rudyard Lake (3 mile drive) for a long walk Cottage was well equipped and comfortable for all 8 of us, hut tub was up to temperature on arrival and the owner showed us how to use this as soon as we arrived, smart tv with Netflix we enjoyed several films as a family, big table off the kitchen for meal time, we had 6 teenagers on the WiFi plus the TV and it didn't let them down. Bad points- no stairgate available for toddlers or to stop dogs going upstairs and downstairs bedroom is noisy from creeky landing and bedroom above. We would definitely consider this place again for a relaxing get away.

  The cottage is perfect in every way we really didn't want to leave. If I didn't have my own pub I would have booked again for this year.   Mike the owner could not have done more for us, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble, which we really appreciated. The property has amazing views (need to be seen to be believed) and 5 paddocks which Mike is more than happy to let any four legged friends be exercised on. The property is a real home from home and has everything you could possibly need for your stay including a relaxing secluded jacuzzi.

  Lovely garden and great hot tub. Owner Mike is very helpful . Beds very comfy. Having 3 bathrooms is great for getting ready in a morning. We visited Biddulph grange national trust. Amazing gardens and well worth a visit. We also went to Jodrell Bank discovery centre and Poole cavern at Buxton . All good days out . Really lovely Chinese delivered to the farmhouse by hosi Chinese in Biddulph. Highly recommend this property you will not be disappointed

  8 of us altogether and couldn’t fault anything. We were lucky with the weather which helped but even so the setting is just beautiful and the views amazing. The Farmhouse is just gorgeous and had everything we needed and easily accommodated the 8 of us plus two dogs. Loved the evenings in the garden, bbq on, hot tub on enjoying everyone’s company the weather and the stunning views. We would love to stay again. Some great places to visit nearby too.   It has everything you need to make a perfect holiday. The house was immaculate and the hot tub was well maintained. The beds were super comfy, with good quality bedding. There was also a baby travel cot. The views from the house were so beautiful, they were medicine for your mind, you could see the mountains in Wales. We met the owner who was so helpful and informative, a very lovely man who wanted to ensure we had the best holiday.
