The property

Rose Cottage is a delightful single-storey annex situated in the heart of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

The annex was modelled, internally and externally, on the original 16" century cottage, which still has all the original oak beams.

With convenient off-road parking for one car, this charming abode offers an ideal escape for couples seeking a tranquil getaway, surrounded by the quaint allure of this picturesque village.

Upon entering your new abode, you will be greeted by a spacious open-plan living area, complete with a well-equipped kitchen boasting an electric oven and hob, a combi microwave, and a fridge with an ice box.

The kitchen also features a dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster, ensuring you have everything you need to prepare delightful meals throughout your stay.

The dining area offers seating for two, perfect for enjoying a romantic meal.

After a day of exploring, unwind in the sitting area, where you can snuggle up in front of the very realistic log-burning electric fire with audio and flames, complete with rustic mantel with remote-controlled candles for ambiance, and enjoy your favourite shows on the Smart TV.

When you're ready to retire for the night, make your way to a luscious king-size bed waiting to catch you.

Again, enjoy the ambiance of the remote-controlled candles at each bedside.

The property also benefits from a sleek shower room, complete with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, providing a refreshing space to prepare for the day ahead.

Step outside to the enclosed garden, where you can enjoy a morning coffee on the patio or spend a lazy afternoon on the lawn.

The garden also features a gravelled area, perfect for enjoying a barbecue on a warm summer's evening.

For an added touch of indulgence, take a dip in the hot tub, which provides the perfect end to a day of exploration.

Rose Cottage is in the heart of Kirkby Cross Conservation Area, which has 10 listed buildings within it and an Ancient Monument.

There are 5 other Conservation Areas within 5 miles.

It is adjacent to Titchfield Park, from where there are many countryside walks, with Crich Tramway Museum visible in the distance.

The Peak District National Park is just a few miles away, as are the Unesco World Heritage Sites of Derwent Valley Mills (birthplace of the Industrial Revolution), and Cromford Mills (the worlds first water-powered cotton mill).

Brimming with options for days out, you could start with a visit to Brierley Forest Park Country Park or the serene surroundings of Portland Park Country Park, both ideal scenes for calm walks.

Further afield, the city of Nottingham awaits, home to the historical Nottingham Castle and the fascinating City of Caves; there, you can experience the remarkable sight of a network of over 500 caves dating back to the Dark Ages beneath Nottingham's streets.

Also at your disposal are the National Ice Centre for a fun-filled skating day or the National Justice Museum offering a unique insight into Britain's crime and punishment through the ages.

Extend your trip over to Sheffield; enjoy the lively atmosphere at The Moor Market and immerse yourself in the lush greenery of Sheffield Botanical Gardens.

Don’t miss the remarkable Weston Park Museum and the architectural marvel that is the Sheffield Cathedral before returning to your inviting retreat at Rose Cottage.

Your stay would not be complete without a visit to the majestic stately home of Chatsworth, and see the world's tallest gravity-fed Emperor Fountain, in the stunning Capability Brown-designed grounds.

Your journey to Nottinghamshire is only a booking away.
