  • "We had a wonderful stay here, everything was spotlessly clean, it was cosy and comfortable and we had everything we needed."

Owners were very friendly and there if you needed anything. My young daughter's highlight was feeding the donkeys carrots every day! The location was also perfect for exploring the peak district, with so different many places nearby. We had a lovely day at Chatsworth gardens and farm, and Sudbury Hall. We can also recommend eating at the Bowling Green in Ashbourne, we had a fantastic meal here. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would love to come back again.

Everything we needed was available and we could always ask if we needed something. My daughter loved visiting and feeding their donkeys and goats too. It was very easy to access lots of local attractions in the Derbyshire area and we would happily return in the future.

  • "We stayed for a week 3 adults."

The cottage was excellant it truly felt a home from home. The cottage owner had left out fresh farm eggs and also there was cleaning products and milk in the fridge. We could not have asked for more. The cottage was spotless (clean) and modern. |In the kitchen there was a full under fridge and freezer. In the living room there was a 50" TV which I believe to be freeview channels. Leading out from the lounge there was a back door which lead on to the patio with chairs and table so you could sit there in the evening and watch the children run around the large garden (field) very well maintained. To the right and left of the field there was a paddock with goats in. If you had children they would love to play in field. The goats and donkeys were very friendly as we fed them. All in all I would recommend this property 100%

  • "Bluebird Cottage is a comfortable and well-equipped converted barn in a very quiet rural location on a farm, although only a short drive from a main road."

This is a good location for exploring the southern part of the Peak District, and other places of interest in Derbyshire. We visited Chatsworth, Ilam Park, Dovedale, Kedleston Hall, the Monsal Trail, Chrome Hill (an exhilarating walk), and the Crich Tramway Museum. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there are plenty of places to eat out within easy reach; the Carriages in nearby Newhaven was a particular favourite, and less than 5 minutes by car.

  • "Due to family sickness, myself, girlfriend and 2 year old son arrived at the property 2 days late at 11PM - they were kind enough to wait up for us to arrive allowing access to the cottage."

On arrival the cottage was in immaculate condition and well presented, all relevant appliances required PAT tested and in working condition. The first night's sleep was amazing after the 4hr travel, we all slept like babies - after waking to the fresh country-side air, on our way out for day 1) the owner (Tom) reminded me that we were able to feed their goats and donkeys which my son absolutely loved, he has a massive obsessions with Tractor Tom the TV series so staying on a working farm with tractors present lit up his face the entirety of our stay. The cottage is situated in an ideal area of the Peak District: Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock, Alton all below or around 30 minutes away. The hosts offer a selection of local pubs and food hotspots which are tried and tested: we visited (The Carriage) one of the suggestions, 3 times on our stay....Yes it is that good!! All in all the entire experience was exceptional, the hosts should credit themselves for delivering such a stellar service in terms of the cottage but also the facilities on offer, going above and beyond to be accomodating. You have given this family some fond memories to look back on and I cannot be more grateful. I'm sure if we are in a position to book next year, we will. Diolch from your guests from Wales
