The property

The Old Clockmakers is a 350 year old converted clockmakers workshop bursting at the seams with unique character and sitting in the very heart of the market town of Ashbourne in Derbyshire.

In 1912 clocks made here set sail on a ship called the Titanic!

Lined with period features including some of the exposed 18th century floorboards, guests will find themselves in an excellent central location moments away from bars and bistros. The ground floor of the property offers a well-equipped kitchen/diner; the antique wooden fittings have been rejuvenated with contemporary colours.

Next you will step into the heart-warming sitting room, its walls are dotted with old clocks while the welcoming set up is dominated by an enticing electric fire, housed in a stunning period fireplace.

A steep and narrow staircase brings you to the first floor where you will find a beautiful family bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the fabulous layout.

Adjacent to this rests a wonderful single bedroom featuring a stunning freestanding wardrobe, as its walls are lined with charming wallpaper.

This level concludes in style with a double bedroom, boasting a wildlife theme.

It also benefits from its own exquisite en-suite shower room.

In the summer months, take advantage of the luscious exterior of this superb property, brimming with attractive plants and flowers with a selection of seating areas to enjoy with a refreshing drink in hand.

This is a one-of-a-kind property, perfect for a break exploring the peak district and all that it offers.

Step out of your front door and be immediately surrounded by Ashbourne's unique charm, lined with cobbled streets and old buildings, this traditional market town offers many fine spots to wine and dine, as well as offering an assortment of captivating antique shops.

Nearby, trek through the Peak District to luxuriate in wondrous walking and cycling country.

This National Park also hosts the sublime town of Bakewell, as well as Matlock on the eastern edge.

A characterful cottage like no other, to be enjoyed all-year-round by you and your loved ones.

Where you’ll be staying

ASHBOURNE

Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collecting of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.
