"One of the best holiday cottages we’ve ever rented."
So spacious, warm and cosy. There is everything you need. The beds are comfortable and the bed linen crisp and fresh. The location is excellent - right in the middle of the village. Lovely walks on your doorstep and loads of choices for meals out. We were a group of 7 and everyone wants to go back again.
-
"Everything was perfect."
The welcome pack was amazing and went down a treat. You sometime read that at place is well appointed inly to find it’s not. But, Stonecroft is totally the opposite, it has everything you would need. Thank you Beck and Ben we loved your place
Thank you David, that is wonderful news! We’re so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Stonecroft and would love to welcome you back again. Ben & Becks Property Owner

"Everyone in our family party loved the house."
Well equipped and organised. Clean and comfortable. Good to have the off road parking, being in the town. Our only suggestion is to include a water filter system, as the tap water had a taste at times perhaps when the tap water was being treated. We’ve had a great family holiday. Will certainly recommend the property to friends. Many thanks.
-
"Simply excellent - both in location and fittings."
One of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in and capable of easily dealing with large families or groups. Cannot recommend more highly. Stonecroft is the best.
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. It means such a lot. We hope to welcome you back to Stonecroft again in the future. Property Owner

"Stonecroft is the perfect location for visiting Bakewell."
It is a home from home with excellent facilities. The beds were very comfortable with the best pillows! All rooms were spacious, homely and comfortable. The cottage was well-maintained and very clean. We would highly recommend Stonecroft Cottage and hope to visit again in the future.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay Julie and especially the bedding and pillows! Thank you for the kind feedback. Property Owner
-
"Fantastic house."
Beautifully styled and finished, everything you could want for a stay. Very comfortable beds, linen, hot water and plenty of space. Close to all amenities but quiet too. Couldn't find any fault with it.
-
"This was our second visit to Stonecroft Cottage and we all thoroughly enjoyed it again."
Very much home from home and so close to the town. The stairs are quite steep so thank goodness for the downstairs bedroom, my elder sister struggles now. We had no problems whatsoever, and hopefully will visit again.
-
"An ideal ‘home from home’ place to stay, everything we could need, spacious, well maintained and a great location."
We certainly plan to return!
Hi Sue, that is wonderful news! So pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner
-
"The property was perfect for a family gathering, very central to all amenities."
Although on a road, there was no road noise inside the house. Some of our party in the upstairs bedrooms found it too warm at night. Overall a wonderful place to stay and place to visit.
-
"The house was lovely Set in a great location"
-
"Fabulous location right in the heart of Bakewell."
Very well equipped kitchen, lovely comfy living room with log burner. Beds were all very comfortable too. Parking does fit three cars with a bit of Tetris style jiggery poker! Only negatives, showers are a little under powered and heating was difficult to increase when house was cold in the afternoon and we had already used the wood. No details of where we could purchase more. But overall a great house.

"This property is beautifully presented, it's in the heart of Bakewell, it is very well equipped, very clean and it has great approachable responsive owners."
The beds were all really comfortable, all the bedrooms are a really good size. We had a 14 week old in a crib and toddler in a cot and still had plenty of space in our bedroom. My dad has very restricted mobility and he was able to be with us due to having the bedroom and bathroom downstairs. We will definitely go back to this gem of a property. We have had a great stay.
-
"Beautiful cottage, cosy, well maintained and spotlessly clean."
Ten people accommodated comfortably and perfect for our family get together. Our hosts were really helpful too.
-
"Stonecroft is in an ideal location, far enough away from most of the hustle and bustle but close enough to be in the middle of everything when you want to be."
Lovely house and close to walks too. We had a brilliant stay!
-
"We are a party of 9 woman who meet up twice a year and have done for a number of years."
This property gets a top thumbs up, beautifully decorated, well equipped for cooking and entertaining. The beds were all very comfortable with good quality bedding and towels. The cleanliness was outstanding. Thank you Ben and Becks we had a superb weekend away.

"Our party consisted of 6 adults and 2 dogs We."
Brought a stairgate with us to ensure the dogs did not escape upstairs ,we checked this was ok with the owners 1st The cottage was very comfortable and clean The kitchen is well equipped to cook for the numbers in our party A wonderful stay in the heart of Bakewell ,would recommend

"We had a perfect stay here as a family of 8."
The house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The perfect location in the centre of Bakewell whilst still feeling quiet. Would highly recommend!
-
"Ben and Becks have created a delightful holiday haven in a lovely part of Derbyshire, ideal for a large family stay."
It is in central Bakewell within easy access of all sorts of attractions to appeal to all ages, caters for a pet dog too, has easy parking, a lovely secluded patio, and inside everything is exactly as promised in the information on-line, plus more. We all loved our stay, and will definitely intend to return!

"Bakewell proved to be a wonderful place to stay."
Lovely walks, plenty of places to eat and drink. Stonecroft is lovely and well equipped. It was lovely to find the kitchen had plenty of utensils, crockery etc There were 5 of us staying, not sure how 10 would work with the seating available in the lounge. We received an email a week before our holiday stating no dogs on the furniture and to exclude them from carpeted areas, a stair gate or similar would help visitors adhere to this request, we used a clothes airer to block the stairs, which was not terribly convenient when going up and down! A minor point as we had a lovely stay.
-
"Stonecroft is an excellently appointed cottage and the equipment, beds etc were splendid."
The only gripe is the fact that the very low door heights upstairs were not mentioned on the Sykes website. The first we knew about them was in the Welcome Pack at the cottage. Had this information been available sooner then we would probably not have booked the cottage preventing the 6ft 2in member of our party sustaining several headaches.
-
"Superb location."
Near town centre. Particularly good for elderly people who face no steep climbs to get to and fro the centre of activity. Good facilities with excellent furnishings. Secluded outside area also a bonus. First rate in all respects
-
"We love this cottage."
It is in a brilliant position in the town and is ideal for a family or large group holiday. We personally love the space and comfort that it affords us as a family with two older teenage children. It is one of the only cottages that we have stayed at that is so well equipped, very much a home from home and the welcome basket etc is much appreciated.
-
"Stonecroft is a beautifully decorated stone cottage in the heart of Bakewell ,surrounded by restaurants and independent shops ."
The cottage is spacious , well equipped and very comfortable for a large family group of 3 generations . We had a fabulous week and the weather was kind too.
-
"We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful property in the heart of Bakewell."
Very well equipped and furnished. Warm and comfortable. One of our party is elderly with limited mobility and found it impossible to manage the stairs to upper floor but was very happy with ground floor bedroom and shower room. Steps down from rear entrance also tricky for her as no handrail. May be helpful to alert future customers to these accessibility issues. Also in upper double bedroom with balcony there is a rug which is a trip hazard with two turned up corners
-
"Stonecroft is a cosy but modern cottage right in the centre of Bakewell."
We really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the large dining table and living room - perfect for dinner as a group of 10. The whole cottage had a lovely feel to it with thoughtful decor - the welcome basket was a nice touch! Communication was excellent - Ben got in touch with lots of details about parking and other info well in advance of our trip.
-
"We had a fantastic time at Stonecroft in the heart of Bakewell."
The house is fabulous, with all necessary facilities to enjoy our stay stress free. The decor of the property is excellent and it was cleaned to a high standard upon our arrival. Everything was easy and stress free throughout our stay. The welcome pack was detailed and easy to understand making settling in a breeze. The location is ideal which made our week even better. It is a 2 minute walk to the main market and shops. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a week away in the Peak District.
-
"Lovely property in an ideal situation to visit Bakewell."

-
"The property was lovely - perfect size for a family get together and in such a lovely location."
The cottage was well stocked with the essentials which was very welcoming and would definitely recommend
-
"We had a fabulous week at Stonecroft."
It is in such a great location, within a few minutes walk of shops, pubs and cafes, yet so quiet at night. The cottage has all the facilities you could need and is extremely comfortable, with quality furniture and fittings. The owners are very friendly and respond quickly to queries. Good parking. Would highly recommend.
-
"Stonecroft is a beautiful old building with a comfortable, modern feel."
It was great to be so central in the town, as well as the rest of the Peak District. The house was clean and the decoration and furniture to a high standard. Lots of storage for clothing etc. The kitchen was fully equipped and the extra touches of wine and biscuits, teabags was thoughtful. We had lovely weather so were able to spend time in the court yard, this was secure for dogs. A parasol would have come in useful though. The house is not on a main road, so mostly quiet at night. It was great to have off road parking in the town. The house was a fab base for our small group and we would stay again if back in Bakewell. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
-
"Lovely, exceptionally well equipped cottage."
Beds were all very comfortable. Would highly recommend.
-
"Very well equipped"
-
"Had a lovely week in your beautiful cottage having a family get together, three generations and it was perfect, everything we could have wanted was there and the location was great for my elderly mum, lots of restaurants we could walk to and interesting places to visit."
Would suggest a visitors book would be nice to leave info on particular favourites and comments. Would love to come again. X

"Great location, easy walk to town."
Lovely cottage with spacious accommodation, great kitchen/dining area to sit and chat in. Beautiful decor and everything there that we needed in terms of kitchen equipment etc
-
"Stonecroft is a welcoming cottage with all the necessary equipment for a family or large group of friends."
Ben and Becky made us feel welcome with the basket of goodies and email prior to our holiday. The family loved the space and cleanliness of the cottage. Being able to access the town and activities of the Peaks on the doorstep is an added bonus. Thanks for a fabulous week.
-
"Had a great week with 4 generations of the family at Stonecoft."
A lovely property with great facilities and an amazingly well-stocked kitchen, especially for the 9 of us. A big thanks to Ben and Becks for the welcome pack. Plenty of lovely shops and pubs all within a couple of minutes walk away and can definitely recommend Rajas if you fancy an Indian takeaway.
-
"Very pleased with our stay."
Thanks for a comfortable and well appointed property in an excellent location.
-
"Excellent property in a brilliant location."
Ideal for a family of 10. The kitchen has everything you can think of. Beautifully decorated and really comfy beds. We had a problem with the key entry box and the owners did their best to sort it to allow us access to the house. Very friendly owners who were quick to reply to our queries.
-
"This is a verycomfortable, well appointed cottage."
It has everything we needed for our short stay. The only disappointment for us was that we had only booked it for a long weekend, but it is our intention to return for a longer stay.
-
"This is a lovely property."
Very spacious rooms and beautifully furnished. Well equipped kitchen, good quality utensils, crockery and cutlery. Lovely comfortable beds and bedding. Also a very convenient location.
-
"A lovely cottage very homely, clean and comfortable."
Ideally situated in the town with lovely walks to go on.
-
"Beautifully furnished Spacious Great location Good heating and hot water Lots of kitchen china and equipment Great parking Dog friendly (which is great) Disappointing that only 3 rings worked on the stove, tricky when cooking for 10 people!"
Dear Adele, Thank you for your feedback, its much appreciated, and we are super pleased that you enjoyed staying at Stonecroft. I can only apologise for the stove, however we have been waiting for spare parts to arrive and due to the continued delay, have actually now simply opted to replace the range cooker with a brand new one. Hopefully you will come back again next year to give it a try! Kindest regards, Ben & Becks Property Owner
-
"Homely & welcoming cottage thoughtfully furnished in keeping with its era in an excellent location for the town centre and surrounding attractions."
Older or less mobile people might struggle with the short set of stairs but the availability of a large downstairs bedroom and shower room filled that gap beautifully for our party. Easy to find and great to have off road parking for 3 cars with everything you might need for your stay. Perfect for short or longer stays we would definitely recommend Stonecroft.
-
"A beautiful, well cared for and equipped house (even the dogs are catered for) in a perfect position in Bakewell, would definitely recommend."
Our only criticism would be that the hob needs servicing as only three burners work but as we didn’t do a great deal of cooking it wasn’t a great inconvenience to us but slightly frustrating. We had a fantastic week and love this gorgeous house
Dear Susan, thank you for your very kind review. With regards the cooker and hob I can only apologise for any inconvenience. We had the hob fully cleaned and serviced recently but are trying to source spare parts. However given the time delay, we have actually now decided to simply replace the entire range with a brand new one which will be fitted on the 15th December. I hope this experience won't put you off returning to Stonecroft in the future. Thanks again. Ben Property Owner
