  • "The reviews you read are true."

The property is spotlessly clean and tidy. It’s spacious and has everything you require for a comfortable stay. The beds are comfortable and it was nice and cosy too. Good location, 20 minute walk into town. Joyce and Paul checked in on us to make sure everything was ok. Will use again. Thanks for having us.

  • "The cottage was very comfortable and spotlessly clean."

The kitchen was well equipped with all you could need to assist your stay and the beds were very comfy, so a good night's sleep was had to recharge and go exploring again the following day. A home away from home, with thoughful and appreciated welcoming "goodies". The owners Paul and Joyce, made us feel very welcome, they lived next door and were on hand if there was an issue. As stated the cottage was a 10-15minute walk into Uttoxeter where you had easy access to bus and train links. We never used our car after arriving and just used the bus or train. The buses operated a £2 single journey, and we did our own bus trip, which took us from Uttoxeter to Chesterfield, with some stops in between. It is a very beautiful area. If using the train, it was less than 25 mins to Derby and under an hour to Nottingham. I would totally recommend this property.

  • "A really comfortable property, spotlessly clean, well equipped."

It’s located just outside the centre of Uttoxeter with a short 10 minute walk into town. Parking is easy being just outside the cottage. Everything in the cottage was just right from comfortable beds and quality linen, to easy to use kitchen equipment. Uttoxeter is a very interesting town, with friendly people, excellent butchers, a marvellous bakers, and a range of independent shops. We made use of the local train and bus services to get around the local area, and were able to do a number of walks from the door into the surrounding countryside. All in all a perfect base for a relaxing holidayin a great property.

  • "I stayed 4 nights with my daughters, it was perfect!"

Probably one of the cleanest cottages we have been to. The owners were lovely too, thank you for the biscuits, a milk bottle and water bottles to start us off! We had a lovely stay, my daughters were super pleased with the property. We also got to play with the resident cat when we were out, very friendly! Well equipped kitchen too. We will definitely stay again. The weather wasn’t great, like anywhere in the UK, a bit unpredictable, but the cottage was located not so far from a little cinema / ice skating / bowling complex, we ended up trying ice skating for the first time instead of going to Alton Towers on the first day! Also well located for Peak District, we went for a couple of hikes as well. Good EV charging facilities as well.

Ultra-clean, everything you need in the kitchen, washer/dryer combo, quiet, and lovely hosts. Small touches like a notepad and pens, torches in the bedrooms show great thoughtfulness.

  • "The accommodation was excellent: spacious, comfortable, warm, well-equipped and spotless."

Despite its proximity to a busy road it was very quiet. The mattress was softer than we prefer but it was comfortable and we slept well. It was good to have a TV in the bedroom as we wanted to watch different programmes at certain times; also nice to have a CD player/radio with excellent sound quality. The WiFi was fast enough and reliable. More than enough biscuits, tea and coffee were kindly provided and milk and bottled water were available in the fridge. It’s an easy 15 minute walk to the pleasant town centre, where there is a good choice of supermarkets and places to eat and drink. We had excellent meals at the White Hart Hotel. Rather than drive to Stafford, we got the bus, taking advantage of the “Duo” £7 fare, which for two people travelling together offers unlimited travel on Chaserider, Select and Diamond Bus East Midlands services. We made interesting and enjoyable visits to Shugborough Estate (National Trust) and the National Memorial Arboretum. The weather was surprisingly good (it rained in the evenings and at night) so this and the delightful accommodation made for a very pleasant holiday.

  • "We have just returned from a relaxing stay at Summerfields."

We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly, helpful owners, Joyce and Paul. The property is all on one level and the car parking space is right outside the main entrance so packing and unpacking couldn't have been easier. The first thing we noticed was that everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. We had been concerned that we would hear noise from the road but the property was very quiet and the views out over the back garden to the fields added to the overall feeling of peace and calm. The property is perfectly located for visits to North Staffordshire, Derbyshire and the Peak District and local facilities are good with several large supermarkets just down the road and pubs and shops in and around the town centre. We will definitely be booking return visits.
