• "Lovely property."

  Very well presented and comfortable with amazing views. Enclosed field was perfect for my dog to run freely and explore. The owners, David and Rachel were friendly and helpful and my only disappointment was that I didn't see them before I left to say how much I had enjoyed my stay. Would definitely recommend Bay Tree Cottage!

• "What a fantastic stay we had in February at the Bay Tree Cottage."

  David met us to show us around and explain things and let us know he was on hand should we need to as well as giving his number to text if needed it. The cottage has been tastefully and thoughtfully decorated throughout with high quality furnishing and fittings. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you would need. The underfloor heating was a delight and enjoyed especially by our dog as was the enclosed field attached where he enjoyed playing every day. The views were spectacular and lots of places nearby to do as much or as little as anyone would want. We enjoyed the local pub (The Station) which served great food and the staff were very welcoming and especially dog friendly. All in all a fantastic stay and was able to relax and enjoy peace and quiet in a 5* location and would definitely recommend and we will be booking again in the future. Thank you

• "David and Rachel made us very welcome during our January stay at Bay Tree Cottage, including our elderly rescue cat, Billy, who enjoyed the amazing heated flooring in particular."

  The property has high end furnishings and provisions throughout and looks very attractive with its original beams. The big, walk in shower is matched with Laura Ashley towels. The bedding is extremely comfortable. The cottage is spotlessly clean. There is a good sized parking area at the side of the property and the wooden decking at the back offers uninterrupted views of the rolling countryside. We'll definitely make a further booking here.

• "Lovely little cottage, spotlessly clean."

  Had everything you needed for the stay. Bed comfy. Had a field at the back to walk our dog. Good location for lots of walks. Croissants, jam, butter and milk a nice gesture. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

• "A beautiful little place."

  So peaceful and quiet with fantastic views from the patio. A bonus for us was a secure gated field attached where our dog could run and let off some steam safely. David met us on arrival and showed us around with an assurance he was just next door and we could text him if we had any queries. The property has been renovated very tastefully and the furnishings and fittings are of a high quality. Everything is available that you could possibly require during your stay and the owners have clearly put a lot of thought into Bay Tree Cottage. We will be back for sure in the Spring to enjoy this little gem again.

• "Rachel and David are wonderful hosts."

  Bay Tree cottage sits in an idyllic location. We enjoyed our stay and the peace and quiet. There are lots of local walks and things to do within a fairly short distance. The biggest bonus for us was the field attached to the property. Our dog had a wonderful time playing and exploring and we had piece of mind that he was safe and secure. I would highly recommend Bay Tree Cottage.

• "This small but well appointed cottage is a little gem."

  On arrival you are presented with the view across the Ecclesbourne valley from the deck and rear windows which is simply wonderful (in our case when not in coud!). The interior may be small but is warm and very comfortable throughout. The smart TV with iplayer and Netflix gave us a few problems but we always got to watch what we wanted. David provided a very warm welcome and the croissants with butter and jam were a welcome bonus.There are also a host of places to visit including Kedleston Hall and Cromford Mills. Overall we had a great week despite the weather and would certainly return.

• "Situated in a wonderful location with marvellous views."

  Very dog friendly with field for exercising. Ideal for disabled people. David and Rachel on hand for any advice......Very comfortable and welcoming....highly recommended.

• "It's was very cosy and inviting, the owners made us very welcome."

  The view from the cottage was beautiful (depending on the weather). It was just what the doctor ordered, peaceful, relaxing and re charged our batteries. The local pub "The Tiger" was absolutely fantastic too. Planning our next visit already it was that relaxing. Thank you

• "We had the best stay."

  It felt like home and had everything we needed. The hosts were lovely and the views incredible. It's a great place for the dog with the open field at the back. It's very comfortable and cosy and.couldnt have asked for more.

• "I would like to give a massive thank you to Rachael and David ."

  ..for the red hot welcome ..they really made us feel so pleased to be there.any questions we had were quickly answered ...The cottage itself has a terrific homely feel .we'll decorated and presented every need was catered for Little Dudley our dog was in paradise with his own field to run around in and tire himself out .All the features and needs had been carefully thought out ....perfect. !!!!! Nothing is too much trouble ...the shops are only a short ride away .....and the Tiger pub even nearer DO give the Ecclescomb steam railway a visit ...total nostalgia for those of us that can remember steam trains . A short review ...but very worthwhile experience...if it were possible 50 out of 10 Henry and Lisa Bradish I will be back hopefully April 2025 Again .....THANK YOU RACHAEL AND DAVID

• "Absolutely lovely cottage everything there what's needed."

  We was there for our 50th wedding anniversary. And Rachel and dave who own the cottage brought us a lovely bunch of flowers and card . Also anything you need you only have to ask them they are a really nice couple. So peaceful and a couple of pubs just up the road do brilliant food .would definitely highly recommend this cottage.
