"Once again the cottage was not a let down."
Very relaxing.Owners were always on hand should there have been any problems and we're very helpful to us.will definitely visit again. Saw some newborn calfs only a day old.and made too feel very welcome by all.WIll miss the morning cuddles with nell.(the farm dog).THere is alot of nice walks there to do and nice and cosy to come back too.

"We had a lovely stay in a lovely cottage."
The hosts were great. Biggest problem was the shower which was unusable, the hosts are aware of this. It would have been very helpful to have had more information on local amenities as some of leaflets were dating back to 2018. That apart a wonderful stay in wonderful location. Would definitely go back if the shower problem could be fixed.

"The property is okay, but there were a few things that could be better."
There are a few steps leading into the front door way, one right inside the property as you step in. It is carpeted but could do with a safety strip to help with visual identification of where the step is, as the carpet colour is neutral and blends making it difficult to determine where the edges of the step are. Hubby fell off step a couple of times. Until he got use to the step. Door way into bathroom is very narrow and the shower cubicle is as well. The, shower, itself was difficult to use. Shower heater was temperamental, low water pressure and it went from freezing to scalding hot. Mattress on bed was too soft. Okay for one person, with two, you end up in the middle and fighting to keep to your side. Ended up with back ache, we did shorten our stay by one night. Otherwise it was very well equipped and clean. The cottage has stunning views. Good location to visit the surrounding area. Nice touch with the chocolate.

"A very cosy cottage in a beautiful setting."
The box of chocs on arrival was appreciated and there's a co-op a short drive away for teabags, milk, sugar etc. Mysterious plumbing malfunctions for a few days plus a wet summer left us in the odd position of having more water than wanted outside and a shortage indoors, but overall it was worth persevering. Despite the very British weather the excellent location meant there was always plenty to see and do locally.

"A gorgeous little cottage on a working dairy farm."
Beautifully decorated and dressed in a modern country style. Ideal location to stay as not that far from Peak District attractions ie Chatsworth House 30 mins away . Lots of space for clothes etc and a well equipped kitchen a real homely place to stay.
-
"Lovely cottage very comfortable everything you need to make a lovely stay."
Owner made sure everything was so welcoming and left a box of chocolates so kind. Great area to explore from to

"Lovely cottage with all you could ask for in a rural location."
Beautiful views from living room. Realy enjoyed the outside space!
-
"The cleanliness of the property was ideal, a lovely smell of polish when we entered the cottage."
Unfortunately; the standard of hygiene of the previous occupants were not of a high standard within the kitchen as we found it necessary to clean all utensils etc prior to our use. An issue of low mains water pressure was quickly dealt with by the owners.

"The chocolates were a lovely touch it was cozy clean and exactly what we wanted thank you for the great place :)"
-

-
"Lovely cosy cottage."
Perfect area for walking and visiting surrounding attractions. Lovely views. Nice to have sheep and cows close and loved the little dogs.
-
"No hot shower (when we complained, some strange story was told about water pressure due to dry weather (end of October with continuous massive rainshowers."
..)). Hot water was running from the tap though so something else must have been going on. Nothing was mentioned about this in the information on the website, just a piece of paper in the kitchen at arrival :-( Roof in sitting area was leaking, lights in extractor hood did not function, very (too) small kitchen table, just big enough for two plates, only electric heating that needed to be switched on and off all the time Wifi had hickups and was very slow. We think this property should be suspended from Sykes until these issues are taken care of. No more Sykes for us!

"Lovely little cottage in the heart of the Peak District."
Lovely location and close to the big climbs and everything was there that you need for a great holiday. On a working dairy farm so was lovely to see sheep and cows next door. The cottage was small but cosy and would be perfect for two people. Everything was clean and the sofa and the bed were super comfy. The bed sheets of sheep were so cute where I might have to buy a set for myself. There were two little dogs that visited the garden from the farm and the little black one in particular was adorable-I nearly took her home! I would love to have a bath and that’s the only thing this property didn’t have but I knew that when I booked but apart from that-perfect! Thank you for a lovely stay and I hope to visit again soon.

"I was very impressed with the Cottage and the fact the place was equipped so well, everything you needed in the Kitchen, a washing machine."
Very good. Plus the owners sweet touches a jar of homemade jam which is delicious and some nice biscuits. Very impressed.

"We enjoyed everything about this holiday, it was just what was needed to recharge our batteries."
The cottage was so lovely and quirky, quiet and peaceful and the owners were very nice too. Would love to go back in the future.
-
"When holiday was cancelled due to covid 19, we was not offered our money back only to rearrange date in the future at an extra cost of £76."
payable now, which says to me Sykes are only in it for the money, not for the customer. Do not like being bombarded with your emails nearly every day.

"Excellent location to explore the area."
Cottage comfortable and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The approach road to the property was more of a farm track so just need to drive with care.
-
"This cottage is in the perfect location to be near all the best walks in the Peak District, being between Buxton and Castletown."
The cottage is cosy for two people on a dairy farm.
-
"A lovely old cottage with beautiful views of the countryside."
Easy access to Castleton and Edale with many walks and cycle paths. Our hosts were happy for us to look round the farm and meet the lambs. We would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing break in the Peak District.
-
"The holiday itself was a fabulous experience."
A lovely, clean and comfortable cottage - despite a few problems managing the shower - located in beautiful surroundings with a hundred interesting things to do and see on the doorstep. The owner was friendly, welcoming and helpful and we even learned a bit about the ups and downs of farming life in the area. All in all, we were delighted with the cottage and the efficient service provided by yourselves. Thanks.
-
"Was welcomed by a very clean, well equipped cottage."
Beautiful views. Will definitely visit again.
-
"We had a lovely time in Garden Cottage."
Very cosy. Good location for walking. The listing on Sykes refers to a possible problem with the shower. The cottage is on a working dairy farm, and when they are milking they use a lot of water. Water pressure to the shower in the cottage is reduced during this time. But this really not a problem, you can still have a perfectly adequate shower when they are milking the cows. The local pub, The Wanted Inn in Sparrowpit, is closer than the Sykes listing suggests. Daylight permitting, you can easily walk there by footpath and avoid the rather busy road. At the time of writing, the Sykes listing for Garden Cottage is showing some old pictures of the kitchen. This has been up-dated since those pictures were taken, with a new cooker and new kitchen units. The owner, Mr Morten, is a really nice, friendly guy.

"This sweet little cottage was perfect for our short honeymoon."
It was warm quiet private and the perfect place for two people in love. It shows signs that other guests have not treated the place with care and respect but the owners are not to be held responsible for that. It is a working dairy farm in a rural location, we were warned that water pressure drops at specific times as the milking operation draws a lot of water, but anyone would have to be an ignorant selfish town dweller to complain about that; you are on holiday, so work around those times or book into a Travelodge. This is a sweet cosy cottage, if you are over five feet four you will probably bump your head going up or coming down stairs... the clue is in the word cottage. Overall, this is a superb little place, we were sad to leave it after five days. Its location is excellent as it is only 30 minutes from Manchester airport, barely more than five minutes from Buxton. An excellent holiday cottage that was better thanI had hoped.
-
"Everything was absolutely fine apart from the fluctuations on the temperature of the shower."
-
"The house was the ideal size for a couple."
All small necessities were supplied e.g. washing up liquid, toilet roll, tin foil, towels etc. The staff were friendly and helpful.
-
"Very pleasant hosts comfortable and quiet, unfortunately there was a lack of water pressure making it difficult in the bathroom."
-
"The cottage was ideally situated for walking and touring the Peak District."
The owner was very hospitable and had a wealth of knowledge about the area.
-
"Great welcome from Peter, the accommodation was very comfortable and the location was beautiful with easy access to the rest of the Peaks."
-
"Absolutely BRILLIANT holiday, in a wonderful location, with the best welcome we have had ever ,from the owners."
..……………….. ideally located for visits and walking.....
-
"Garden cottage was small but a very cosy cottage, with the most stunning views of the Dales."
The farmer Peter was very helpfull and friendly and even took my wife and I around his farm and we saw some of the best views around. He even told us place's to see,he would allways stop for a chat and tell us about his farm when he was a boy. The Dales have so mutch to see that a week was not long enough to see it all,and would thoroughly recommend this holiday.
-
"What a wonderful view there is through the window from the kitchen sink!"
The cottage is set in beautiful countryside with all the interest of the farm animals nearby. Easy access to many walks, rocks, caverns, reservoirs, gardens, castles etc. The cottage itself has two hazards! There is a step up from the entrance and lounge area up to the dining/ kitchen area, which can easily be forgotten . Perhaps a strip of white carpet tape could be placed on the step to make it more visible and obvious. There could also be a warning sign for the stairs. It is necessary for tall people to duck or they would bang their heads!
-
"Barmoor Farm and garden Cottage are a delightful place to stay ."
The location is convenient for some great walks straight from the farm. Chapel en le Frith has a large supermarket and is a convenient place to stock up on supplies.
