"Wonderful place to stay."
Quiet, peaceful area with local amenities nearby. Cottage is clean, comfortable and welcoming. Thoroughly reccommeded.
-
"Nicely located cottage."
Managed to park outside. Nice to have a little seating area-weeds need attention. Bed super comfy. Cosy once a little warmer. Great shower. Dog smell in lounge off putting. Owners need to keep dogs off furniture. Fridge difficult to access. Shame there was no welcome pack. Some refreshments would be nice after a journey. New frying pan needed. Comfy cottage for 4 people.

"The cottage was great"
-
"We were visiting the area for 3 nights for a wedding."
Delightful wee cottage in this large hillside village with it's history, narrow steep streets and gorgeous backdrop of hills. The cottage has tasteful decor and furnishings, wood burner and comfy high beds with nice bathroom. All you need for a short restful break. Our Yorkie loved it too. Watch your head though as you enter the cubby hole in the kitchen to access the fridge!
-
"Beautiful home away from home."
Perfect location for exploring your gorgeous surroundings. Locals all very friendly and welcoming in the nearby pub. Would love to visit again
-
"I spent here lovely time with my friends."
Nice, clean and comfortable cottage. I love IT. Everything what you need is here. Only fridge is too small... but we have been only 3 nights so that wasn't a big problem for us. Short distance to shop - Coop. I'm here second time and I'm always happy.
-
"What a cosy and sweet cottage in a great location All we required and such a well equipped self catering home We 3 had a relaxing stay and will be back!"
-
"Enjoyed our stay."
Facilities excellent. Banged my head a couple of times trying to get to the fridge! Bradwell is a very underestimated Peak District village
-
"The place is great but very small."
The shower, kitchen etc gets a bit on top If you after a few days. The kitchen table is a normal sizzle but you can’t get passed it to go to the loo or fridge etc. The standard is very high but the cottage is very small. The area and the actual town is sensational.
-
"A great little cottage in a good position in a stunning village."
Very well appointed, clean and accurately described. We certainly hope to stay another time. Locals very welcoming and a friendly pub ( White Hart Inn ) just down the road.
-
"We had a fantastic holiday at Bank Cottage in Bradwell."
It is a lovely little cottage that is full of character and is warm and cosy. The cottage has everything you need and is very clean and well maintained. The views across the village with the hills of Bradwell Edge in the distance are beautiful.
-
"Absolutely great cottage."
In perfect location. Clean and very comfy. Inside there is everything you need from kitchen to hi-fi equipment. We'll definitely come back. Highly recommended
-
"Nothing to add -we had a lovely stay!"
-
"Beautiful place, well equipped, comfortable and cosy."
Excellent location in a lovely village with lovely pub a few steps away. A home from home. Highly recommended.
-
"Bank Cottage is a lovely warm little property in a beautiful location."
Full of charm and character and really comfortable beds. We had a great week but there were a couple of issues that could do with sorting- the main one was the gate and fence that really need replacing before they fall to pieces and a child/ pet gets onto the road. The log burner had a crack in the glass so we were concerned that it was something we had done when we had a fire, A note to say the owner was aware of it and it was ok to use would have been handy but other than that it was a lovely warm Christmassy cottage.
-
"A lovely stay in bank cottage and in the perfect location."
We would love to come back! Thank you Chris and Caroline

"Great stay in Bradwell."
Bank Cottage was very cosy for an autumn stay.
-
"Great cottage, exactly as described and very comfortable."
Owner reached out before our stay to check we had all we needed, but was not intrusive, very personable
-
"Lovely, warm, cosy, clean cottage, we had a lovely week, booked again for another week in February, can’t wait."
-
"We had a great stay at Bank Cottage, it was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm in the colder weather we had during our stay."
Chris was really helpful and very quickly sorted a couple of minor issues we had. It has a cosy lounge to relax in at the end of the day and comfortable beds for a good nights sleep!
-
"A really nice cottage, very comfortable, and finished to a high standard."
Kept us cool in very hot weather. I would say only really suitable for 4 people with an emergency 5th fold up bed. The fridge is basically on a stone shelf in a cupboard off the corner of the kitchen which may be a slight issue for some people. On road parking can also be tricky but we always found a space near the cottage. Other than that, a lovely comfortable cottage in a great location.
-
"The property had everything you needed, the hosts had put a lot of thought in what had been provided."
It was spacious, had wonderful comfy beds and a cosy lounge and wood burner. The pubs in the village were very welcoming and Bradwell is a beautiful place to walk around. We used the dog friendly walks book that was provided and we got to see some lovely places without having to travel too far. Highly recommend

"Lovely cottage , n a lovely location ."
Close to lots of great walks , and places of interest . A lovely touch ,that Chris the owner ,contacted us the evening before our arrival . The cottage was spotless . The beds are really comfortable . We both slept so well .!! My husband is 6ft 2 .and banged his head the first day coming down the stairs …. He soon learned to duck !

"A welcoming place to return after a day exploring the area."
-
"A very cosy comfortable cottage."
A minor issue with the dvd player was quickly sorted by the owner, Chris. Sadly the pub opposite does not do food but you can get decent pub food at The Shoulder of Mutton down the road. Best meal we had was at The Maynard in Grindleford not too far away. Very nice place and gorgeous food.
-
"Great communication, fantastic property in a perfect location."
We loved our stay. Thanks

"Hi, I had a lovely stay at Bank Cottage."
It had everything I needed, including clean and fresh bedding and towels, wifi, logs and lighting equipment for the fire and all cooking utensils (as an example). Bank Cottage had excellent facilities and was comfortable, warm, homely and very clean. The hosts were especially welcoming and ensured that I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay and was very much appreciated. I totally recommend Bank Cottage as a great place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
-
"Beautifully finished, homely cottage."
Parking for 2 cars was no problem. Bradwell offers great facilities, all within walking distance of the cottage. Chris was helpful before and during our stay.
-
"We had the most wonderful week at Bank Cottage."
Lovely and warm and cosy to come back to after a day on the hills. Really comfortable beds - great sleep. Chris gave us a really warm welcome and was on hand in case we needed anything. Fabulous stay... We will definitely be back.
-
"We had such a lovely stay over Christmas, the photos don’t do it justice."
It was exactly what we were after, cosy cottage with views and plenty to do around the area. The cottage had everything we needed and Chris the host was very attentive and communicated well before during and after stay. Right in the middle of the Peak District this is an ideal spot to explore the stunning area. Thankyou.
-
"This was our second time staying at Bank Cottage."
Cosy, comfortable and clean. Great views. Didn’t even mind the rubbish weather as it was a good excuse to stay in and light the log burner. Excellent location, nice pub across the road and a couple of shops in the village. Parking on the road just outside the cottage. Can’t wait for our third visit.
-
"A fantastic and very homely cottage."
Chris was very helpful and welcoming. The cottage is very well appointed and the people in the village very friendly. One of the best cottages we have stayed in, we hope to be back.
-
"Guidance to the location of the property would have been useful."
The "Welcome" folder had all the technical information on the cottage's appliances which was useful (although the microwave has since been changed). I would have appreciated information of the villages's facilities (shops, where can we eat out etc). The cottage was very clean, the bed very comfy. The cottage had all the facilities and utensils that we could need.
Details about how to find and access the cottage shed be sent to you in advance, I will check on this with Sykes directly. Useful to know that you didn't have the details. Pre covid we provided a comprehensive welcome folder with all the shops and amenities in the area. We will put it back into the property. Property Owner

"Beautiful cottage in a perfect position."
Close to facilities. Carefully decorated to create space with bold pieces, whilst maintaining a cosy feel. Everything you could need had been thought about and included. Would definitely like to return to Bank Cottage.
-
"A lovely, fully and tastefully equipped/furnished cottage in a very friendly village with amenities."
-
"Bank Cottage is small but perfect for a couple or, as in our case 3 adults."
We found it to be clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. The king size bed was particularly comfortable. We enjoyed the character of the house with the thick walls, window seats and the steep staircase and plenty of the original features still there. The fridge is quite small but we do like to cook so for others who want to eat out more it is probably sufficient. The cottage is in a great position with good views, little traffic and also within an easy stroll of the shops and footpaths leading out of the village. We would definitely book another holiday there in the future as the situation is also ideal for exploring the Peaks and Dales and one week is nowhere near enough. We didn’t need to ask anything of the owners but it was reassuring to have their number available if needed.
-
"The cottage was really lovely."
Cosy with everything you need. Great views too and lovely and quiet. A great location and really enjoyed the village and surrounding area. Lots to see without travelling too far.
-
"We had an amazing time in the Bank Cottage."
The cottage was charming, full of character, clean, cosy and warm. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. Our two small children absolutely loved the cottage. And we loved that there was a Christmas tree and other decorations!
-
"Enjoyed our stay thoroughly."
Cottage was just perfect in this idyllic village. Cottage was well equipped, cosy and clean. We would definitely book here again.
-
"This is a wonderful little cottage - perfectly decorated & fitted out, warm & cosy, in a fantastic location overlooking the village, and with lots of walks on the doorstep."
My mum, dog, and I had a great few days there and will be going back for sure. With thanks to Chris, the owner, for a text message on the day also to make sure that all was OK. Would definitely & highly recommend this perfect spot.
-
"Perfect, small but perfectly formed, cottage - very suitable for four people."
Finished to a high standard, and would highly recommend.
-
"Great location, not just for accessing the Peak District but for the village as well."
Super cosy little cottage, we loved our stay
-
"Bank Cottage was perfect for my family and pets."
The village of Bradwell is quaint and has all the facilities needed. Pubs, cafe. Supermarket, I will definitely be returning for another break. Thankyou
-
"We had a lovely holiday at Bank Cottage (leaving aside the weather which did not cooperate)."
The cottage was very cosy - very well equipped kitchen and we liked the wood burner. Parking just outside the door and a 5 minute walk to a co-op. And access to the Peak District …. Chris could not have been more helpful.
-
"The location of the cottage was perfect in a beautiful little village within walking distance to restaurant, pubs village shop etc."
The cottage itself was lovely with everything we needed for our stay but unfortunately was let down by its cleanliness. Whilst there was a notice saying everything had been cleaned and wiped down as a result of COVID, it was evident this was not the case. There was sticky food residue on the dining table, a ‘gritty’ substance on the coffee table shelf, black mould in the shower that should have been wiped away as it was not stains, and dirty make-up removal wipes on the floor in the main bedroom. To have to clean and vacuum the property on our arrival was not expected and was very disappointing. One last point to make would be to move the fridge into the kitchen under the stairs as not easy to get to in the cleaning cupboard with a very low doorframe and down 2 steps. We had quite a few bumps on our heads! Quite awkward to get to.
I was sorry to learn that your stay at Bank Cottage failed to meet your expectations. Most guests find the cottage to meet, or exceed expectations. It is useful for me to know of problems with the cottage during your stay as it means I can put things right straight away. High standards are something we set and try to maintain. As I sent you a message on the evening of your arrival to make sure everything was ok and you confirmed it was, I am surprised and disappointed to receive your feedback. Your experience was a cause of concern for me and I have addressed most of the points raised. I am unable to move the fridge from the cave, the low door height is clearly signed. Chris Property Owner

"Beautiful location."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bradwell. Thank you.
-
"Great location."
Great little cottage. Perfect for 4 adults. Bathroom could be updated but nothing major. Very cosy and pretty. Steps were not as steep as some said and that was after a 17mile hike!
-
"Lovely home away from home."
Clean and comfortable. Second stay. Great village too.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay at Bank Cottage."
Excellent location for exploring the Peaks. Lovely little pub across the road and a couple of local shops. Cottage was clean and cosy. Bed was comfortable, loved the large range cooker and the log burner. Excellent communication from owner.

-
"A really comfortable and well laid out cottage."
The welcome home pack was greatly appreciated, the location superb. Fantastic walking from the doorstep.
-
"Excellent cottage couldn't have been better."
The only thing that was a problem was parking which was very very limited.
-
"We loved this Beutiful cosy cottage!"
, very clean and lovely features inside in a very charming setting. It was perfect for myself and two boys who enjoy walks and adventures out in the Peak district. Our little dog loved it too. The views from cottage were amazing and it was great having a pub, shop and chippy close by. We would definitely come to this cottage again, and Bradwell is so pretty and ideal for exploring this National Park.
-
"Owner very prompt via email with our query about travel cot."
.Appreciated supplies of milk etc. but thought 1 1/2 toilet rolls a bit mean. Wouldn't be without the washer drier, but would like a plastic airer/drier to hang clothes up on a nice day (£17 in hardware shop down road).Would also like a rail above or on radiator to help dry towels as heated towel rail is not very big.
-
"We enjoyed the location and the comfort of the cottage."
-
"Thank you to the owners it was a home from home."
Everything spot on. Would love to visit again.
-
"The cottage was immaculate, the only thing it needs is a cupboard to store food in."
Village was lovely with a coop store which was well stocked. Lovely pubs and walks. Would highly recommend.
-
"Fantastic little cottage in a excellent location with all the utilities covered, even fantastic board games"
-
"The cottage should definitely not be advertised as sleeping 5."
It should be sleeping 4-5, making clear that while another person can be fitted in, it could only be a child in the bedroom ( and a very tight squeeze) , or someone, for a night, in the sitting room
-
"Lovely cosy and comfortable cottage that is pet friendly, and in a great location to local pubs and walks."
-
"Lovely, cozy, well equiped cottage."
Great area with lots to do and discover.
-
"Well equipped and superbly located cottage."

"Bank Cottage is a lovely cottage in a lovely village, ideal for those with dogs wishing to go walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside."
It didn't bother us, but the cottage is on quite a steep hill. Like all villages in such areas, the streets are narrow and parking isn't ideal, but we managed. There is a local Co-op store that is well-stocked, and a couple of decent pubs that are dog friendly and serve food. The cottage was lovely with an excellent kitchen, apart from the lack of food storage (there is a small fridge/freezer and no cupboard space to speak of) and comfortable living room. A door (to keep the dogs downstairs) leads to the stairs, which are quite steep. Upstairs is one decent size double bedroom and another that is a bit of a squeeze, and a bathroom. The bathroom has no bath (not a problem for us). I found the shower a bit small (I'm 5'11" and 13 st) and the lighting a bit dim for shaving. None of the concerns were significant enough to be a big problem, just minor niggles. We stayed over Christmas, and the owners had gone to the trouble of putting a tree up and enough decoration to make it "Christmassy" without going over the top. Overall, a lovely cottage with everything you need for a walking holiday in a beautiful area. We would certainly go again,

"Cozy, well equipped cottage in a pleasant and friendly village, all set in a beautiful part of the country."
You can publish this if you want but only use my initials, not my name.
-
"It should be mentioned that the stairs are very steep and could be difficult for the elderly."
Also the area up to and around the cottage is very steep - again anyone with walking problems would find it a problem.
