  • "Had a great stay."

The cottage is in a brilliant location, good for getting around and in a beautiful location. A comfy cottage with all the facilities you need. WiFi is a little weak, but this may be due to the location. Quite a strong smell of damp in end kitchen cupboard and lighting in sitting room a little dark. These are minor niggles however and did not detract from a lovely stay.

  • "Perfectly situated in the Peak District."

Lovely kitchen, bathroom. Broken drawers in double room. Bedding very creased and pillows need replacing. Also, parking was tricky, especially if you walk with difficulty. That said, these are minor things to rectify and we enjoyed our stay.

  • "After our original accommodation was cancelled the day before we were very grateful to get this cottage the day before our trip."

The cottage was located conveniently for walking and for dogs. Sadly there was quite a lot of damp in the cottage and was a bit rough around the edges. The user guide was not very helpful, we struggled to get heating on, Internet was very slow, smoke detector taken off the ceiling and on stairs the carpet had exposed gripper. The enclosed garden was useful and the kitchen nice and modern. Pub across the road was lovely. We had a lovely holiday and the cottage was a good base.

Shamrock cottage was very comfortable and in the perfect location for walking and visiting all of the various tourist places in the Peak District, The only thing we found quite frustrating was the WiFi was very intermittent but we managed, i would definitely go again

  • "We have mixed feelings about the cottage and feel that a few tweaks would make things much better."

Bradwell is a great spot and a lovely village with a good co-op. We enjoyed a meal in the pub opposite . The lounge was very dark and the lighting poor which made it a bit chilly and difficult to read in the evening. The mattress was incredibly soft and the pillows very thin and bedding quite old. The kitchen was good and the wet room lovely. Parking was a bit of a challenge but we found a spot

  • "Lovely little cottage with lots of potential."

A few minor issues but worth noting. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty so we had to buy our own hand soap not a major issue but I would expect it to be available for us. There was no toilet brush or shower curtain. No washing up sponges provided in the kitchen, just a flannel which wasn't ideal. Appreciate the cottage is old but there are a lot of cobwebs that have blatantly been there for a while and could be dealt with a duster, just makes the place look a little unkempt. Someone's old contact lenses were left on the bedside table which wasn't nice either. Seems there is a lack of attention to detail here compared to other cottages we have stayed at for a similar price. The host did leave us some milk and biscuits which was lovely. It would be good for future guest for the kitchen to have some oil, tin foil, kitchen roll etc. Again something we have had in other stays for a similar price. Overall a pleasant stay, lovely cottage just needs some tweaks from the hosts and it could be amazing.

  • "Lovely storage although needed a bit more cleaning; lot of cobwebs and spiders in corners and on blinds."

Living room in need of a lick of paint in places and the room and kitchen did smell quite damp and fusty. Was in a beautiful location and the neighbourhood was friendly.

Thank you for your feedback. Regarding spiders and cobwebs on leaving the property after cleaning there was no cobwebs. Around the fire opening the living room we have rising damp which we repaint often when we do not have back to back bookings which was the case for your booking. The cottage is nearly 200 years old which does present challenges and issues Property Owner

  • "A cottage in a super location: walks from the door, a lovely pub over the road with traditional hearty fare and a Coop down the road for all the essentials."

The cottage was comfortable and it was nice to have the little outside space in the summer. The bathroom was spick and span and the place felt cosy. The kitchen could be a little better supplied (sharp knives, kitchen roll, working pedal bin and more glasses that weren't chipped would have been handy) but all in all, a great place to stay and relax in beautiful scenery. Thank you.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in the cottage and the village is lovely - had a fab Sunday roast at the Shoulder of Mutton pub across the road and the whole area is stunning."

The cottage was clean and cosy but needs refreshing with a lick of paint as there are some damp stains - the mattress is not comfy and the same goes for the settee. The kitchen equipment was fine for two people but you would struggle if four were staying as there are not enough cups, glasses, bowls, etc. This is our feedback - at paying over £100 a night, the standard should be higher.

Thank you for your feedback regarding damp stains this is a small area at the bottom of the fireplace opening the property is 200 years old this a common problem and is re painted between booking if time allows. The mattress is memory foam and wasn’t cheap as far the settee been uncomfortable on both counts you are the first person to complain about this. There is four of everything in the kitchen so why four people would struggle is a mystery. For the price you paid you can only get a room above a pub the cottage sleeps four at the rateyou paid that’s £25 per person per night. Please note we have had a new kitchen and bathroom upv and doors and windows six months ago. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely three days at Shamrock Cottage."

It was just the right size for us (mother and daughter), extremely well kitted out, very nicely decorated, cozy, and comfortable. We are glad we chose Bradwell, with walks from the doorstep, a nice pub just over the way, and a very handy Coop a few minutes from the cottage. Shamrock Cottage has a lovely atmosphere, and the little back garden provides a nice space for sitting out. The location is very quiet and restful. We would love to return some day.

  • "Very enjoyable stay."

Property has overall been done to a very high standard, newish kitchen and bathroom. Excellent value for money all in all. Kitchen was faultless, had a full range of utensils, large fridge and freezer, cooker washing machine etc. Towels were provided, the pre visit info suggested i needed to take these. Internet worked well, went down for a short while but coverage ok. Couple of the floorboards in the main room had small bits of nail sticking out which may cause issues for little ones but easily remedied. Cupboards in main room could do with a regular dusting but overall very clean property. Plenty of storage space available throughout property

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Shamrock Cottage, thank you."

Very clean and cosy. Lots of fluffy towels provided. We also really appreciated the bottle of wine, box of biscuits and pint of milk left for us on arrival. Nice location, with no problem parking. The only negatives would be the small double bed in the second bedroom, shortage of mugs and bowls and dim lighting. Easily rectified (apart from the size of the bed!) Friendly village and very useful Co Op a short stroll down the road.
