"We had a 3 night weekend break at the Royal Oak Cottage."
Everything was perfect, I would recommend this cottage. Communication about check-in and out was great as well as throughout our stay. On arrival the cottage was warm and welcoming. The open plan downstairs kitchen and sitting room was perfect for our family gathering. The kitchen had everything we need for preparing and eating meals. The bedrooms are all good sizes and plenty of storage. The snug room and back door was perfect as an extra space and for leaving coats and boots. The bathroom and shower room both have good showers with lovely hot water. Brassington is a lovely village and very well placed for accessing walks and visiting local attractions. The Old Gate Inn and Miners Arms are both very welcoming with great food and drinks.
Thank you for your lovely review. I am so glad that you and your family had a great stay in Brassington. Claire Property Owner

About the location
ASHBOURNE
Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.
Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collecting of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.
