"We’ve just come back from a wonderful 2 night stay in the Artists Loft."
I wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was as described, clean and comfortable also there was the bonus of a little microwave as well. There is all the equipment you need in the kitchen. Extremely comfortable sofa and the bedroom was just perfect. Even with the sky lights open there was no noise. Parking in the car park opposite was handy enough. The little court yard, which is enclosed to three sides, was lovely to sit in and watch the world go by. All the information on the listing is accurate and as long as future visitors do their own due diligence then I can’t see why anyone would be other than delighted with their stay in the Artisits Loft. We will definitely stay there again.

"We enjoyed our stay and would return if we were only wanting a 3 or 4 night break."
For us there was not enough kitchen storage so although the kitchen was perfectly adequate to prepare meals, there was no where to store any food, not even cereal or bread. The bedroom storage was better but still would benefit from more. I get that space was tight but during the whole week we kept forgetting that the bathroom door and one kitchen cupboard didn’t have enough room to fully open, this became very annoying. As others have said the place wld probably be cold in cooler months due to gap under wooden door plus there is no soundproofing, could hear the geese and farm animals at the market. Also the windows, upstairs if u had open in the night was really noisy with bird sounds and downstairs there were no windows that opened, not ideal. Lastly, we did take our dog but there is no enclosed area outside , as our friends were staying in one of the other properties we could use their garden.
All of that being said, it is in a great location, few minutes walk to high street and pubs and walks. Bakewell is lovely and well positioned for lots of local walks and attractions. As said we wld stay again but for a shorter period.

"There wasn’t a secure area for our dog to use, no secure garden,
Our dog wakes us up in the middle of most nights to go out, however there wasn’t anywhere he could go, one of us would have to get and dressed, and take him out on his lead, there weren’t any grass areas local, we had to go over Bakewell bridge to the closest grassed area he could use,
This is the 3rd property we have rented through Sykes that was said to have a secure area for our dog, but we weren’t happy that any of them had one."
Just because a property allows pets, doesn’t mean it’s pet friendly,
The cottage itself lacked a few essentials, and wasn’t very well insulated, you could see daylight through the front door, so there was a constant draft coming through it, the freezer compartment in the fridge, was completely frozen over, so we couldn’t use it,
Although the property was a bid rough around the edges, I guess we got what we paid for, I would think twice before booking our next cottage through Sykes, or at least look deeper into ho secure the garden is for our dog. We book at least 3-4 cottages a year, between you and Dog friendly cottage’s, we have never had issues with Dog friendly cottage’s, regarding secure gardens etc,
I think Sykes should satisfy themselves with issues like this before putting them on your books,

"Great little place for two and our furry little boy, parking instructions were spot on and the fact that there is no onsite parking was not a hinderance."
This is an old building so expect some things to be a little quirky. More than enough stuff in the Artists loft for a short stay , cooked a full English no bother. It was a wet weekend when we stayed so might be nice to have some hangers for coats downstairs, only a small thing and certainly would not stop us from staying again.

"The Artist’s loft is perfectly situated, just a very short walk to the centre of Bakewell."
The accommodation was clean and well equipped for a short stay with the most comfortable bed. We loved the quirkiness of the property. We had our dog with us and the only downside was that the outside area was not totally enclosed so couldn’t just let the dog out.

"The cottage has an excellent central location."
It is well enough equipped for two people. The upstairs is good but the toilet would benefit from a toilet brush. The tv is good but the downstairs is a bit dark and dingy and could do with some refurbishment. It would also benefit greatly from a coffee table and a small rug. The patio is unappealing and the photo of it shows furniture from a different cottage.

"The code sent was not complete it stated a # instead of a digit !"
!!! Nobody was answering the number provided! It took me ages to go through until the seven to find out it was a 7! That was a bit out putting… I know the car parking at the property is not for the artist loft but would have been a good commercial gesture to tell us we could park in the front those days as the other cottages were not in use. Apart from that it was nice and warm and comfortable I would advise to put the cutlery in plastic cups instead of glass as it is very full and could fall and brake.
