"This is a beautiful property with beautiful views."
A perfect base for exploring the Peak District. Facilities for people with dogs are perfect. This was my second stay at Monsal Cottage, would definitely go again.

"Monsal cottage is exactly what we needed."
It’s a lovely clean cottage with everything we wanted right there. It was very clean and very warm. We stayed with our dogs for a week and had a lovely time. The only negative comment I have (and it is not the site owners fault) but some people who stay with dogs did not tidy up after their dog. There is a lively enclosed area to let your dog out for a wee and poo but some people clearly don’t have standards and don’t clean up after their dogs. I tried to tidy up some of the other poos myself but there was too many. Do these people not realise that eventually the site owners will stop dogs staying there??? It’s not difficult!!!!! Anyway that is a comment on people not the site owners. We loved our stay. We certainly loved the little gang of goats that greeted us most days on the site. And the site owners were very helpful with any of our additional needs. Highly recommend.

Tv to high on the wall it wants dropping 30cm, settee to low also not very comfortable ,sink plug in the bathroom not easy to use, the bed is just passable but could be improved after saying that it was warm all the time, plenty of parking also very quite which is what we wanted

"The property was well maintained, clean, in a good location and your goats were a great entertainment value."
It is a property we would recommend.

"Another wonderful and quiet stay at Monsal cottage."
Very comfortable for us and two dogs. I love that you have taken the conifers down so we can see the panoramic view of dales. The goats were very comical. The alpacas look lovely, I hope you start alpaca trekking at some point? Love the new bathroom too. We love it here, enjoyed several railway walks during our stay. Thank you.

"A beautiful place, peaceful with fantastic views."
To say that the cottage is dog friendly is an understatement, the outside area is fenced off and you have no worries about your dog wandering off. The cottage itself is well equipped and comfortable. My stay here was just what I needed to help me to heal after a challenging year. Will definitely be going again. Thank you.

"Great place to stay, only 25 minutes by car from all main attractions Castleton, Buxton and within walking distance of Bakewell although the hill is quite steep."
The property itself is in a very quiet location and has all facilities needed including the use of a washing machine and dryer.

"Lovely little cottage."
Bedroom may be a bit tight and small for some visitors, but great for us. The cottage was warm, clean and plenty of parking.
-
"Very pleased with the upgraded bathroom."
The shower was fantastic. Lovely warm cottage in a peaceful setting. Would definitely recommend.

"Lovely setting, so peaceful!"
Just right for the two of us. Really comfy sofa and AMAZING shower. Bed on the hard side , no window in the bedroom but slept really well. On a working farm so few flies about but owner added an electric zapper which done the job well. Clean and would be happy to return.

"The cottage was excellent, especially the shower."
The location is superb, the views were amazing. Just a couple of points, the plug was missing from the bathroom sink and the kitchen would benefit from having some oven gloves. The lack of these did not spoil our break and we got round the problem. The only other issue we had was we had both forgotten how smelly farms can be. :-)
