  • "We really enjoyed our stay at The Cow Shed."

Nic and Andy made us feel very welcome. All we needed was there and the whole property was kept in lovely order. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet setting yet within a short drive to local shops, bars and restaurants.

  • "Andy and Nic made us most welcome on arrival."

The accomodation was in a beautiful location which exceeded our expectations. Inside was clean and comfortable and included all you need to start your stay. The only drawback was our stay was over too soon. Will definitely be going back in the near future. Thank you Andy, Nic and not forgetting the dog's.

  • "What a find!"

It was a last minute weekend break for us & the dogs, and we really hit lucky. The cowshed was lovely, with everything that you’d need, and the back garden opened up to just countryside. It was just what we needed to recharge our batteries. The only small drawback was the extractor fan in the bathroom, which went on for almost 15 minutes after the light was turned off, which was fine unless you were in bed. Will definitely be rebooking The Cowshed, but next time for longer than a weekend.

  • "As regular visitors to Shropshire, we have been looking for a new 'home from home' since the cottage we previously used has been removed from the rental market, and we have now found it in The Cow Shed."

The location is stunning, and perfectly located for the Shropshire Hills, Ironbridge, Wyre Forest, and much more. The accommodation is clean, well maintained, well equipped and homely, with a secure garden that is perfect for dogs. We absolutely can't wait to come back, thank you Andy, Nic (and Maggie) for making us feel so welcome. See you again soon! Martin, Sarah and Winnie

About the location

BRIDGNORTH

Much Wenlock 8 miles; Ironbridge 15 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles; Ludlow 20 miles; Church Stretton 20 miles.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.
