"Cosy, comfortable, quite for a working farm, lovely couple who run the property some fantastic walks in the area, we loved it."
-
"Really enjoyed my stay at the cottage."
It is positioned in a fantastic central position to enjoy everything around the Dark Peak. But to be fair you don’t need to venture far. Walks galore in all directions. Lovely and quiet position with views to die for. Village a short walk away where people are so friendly. The owners or the cottage are lovely people and you can not help but love them. I love my walking and have stayed in better and worse cottages over the years. But this place is a walkers dream. Loved it.
-
"The cottage is in a beautiful location with many stunning local walks without the need to drive."
The cottage has its own secluded patio with furniture which we made full use of.
-
"We had a great stay in this lovely cottage in Chinley, the weather wasn't great but our host put the central heating back on which was greatly appreciated."
It is in a very good place for travelling around the Derbyshire Dales with lovely views from the cottage. The village has 2 great restaurants The Paper Mill and The Old Hall owned by the same people and catering for all tastes, which is in walking distance. We also had a takeaway from the Indian restaurant in the village which was very good. Would recommend

"Nice warm and comfortable cottage, had to live with a few cobwebs but wasn't a problem."
Lovely views and garden. Barbara was very helpful sorting the WiFi out for us. Thanks again
-
"Fantastic stay at the cottage."
Everything was as we expected it to be when we arrived and we received a warm welcome from the host. Cottage is in a great location for days out however would recommend a car.
-
"A very quiet and cosy cottage."
Owners next door very pleasant. We have been coming to the Peak District for over 13 years and these are the best views we have ever had from a cottage. Good base for this area. Everything here for a weeks stay. The bed was a bit hard for us but that's just a small thing. Highly recommend The Lamb Inn lovely food. We had a very enjoyable week here weather good for 5 days out of the 7, so we were lucky.
-
"We have a lovely stay at the cottage, host was welcoming and friendly."
The cottage was a perfect base for exploring, clean and tidy and with everything we could need - we could easily have stayed longer!
-
"A Beautiful place, with lovley views ."
.The host Barbara was very welcoming and friendly... The cottage is spotlessly clean and very cosy...Highly recommend a visit here
-
"We really enjoyed our time in the cottage."
Lots of places to visit and walk. Barbara was very welcoming when we arrived. Beautiful views accross the valley. Overall comfy place to stay. Some small negatives...No washing machine which would have been useful as the weather was poor and we got very muddy (wasnt much space so thats probably why no washing machine) Shower pressure quite low but was ok. Wifi was on and off. I would recommend visiting.
-
"Nice to see Barbara again thank you for the milk on our arrival."
Cosy cottage with breathtaking views home from home walks from the cottage. Looking forward to our next visit.
-
"Lovely little cottage with everything we needed in it."
Barbara was there to meet us and made us feel very welcome
-
"The cottage was adequate."
The location was good and the view was fantastic. Our biggest complaint was the cottage really needs a top to bottom thorough cleaning.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
The cottage was perfect for two walkers, and Barbara was very helpful and friendly. We would definitley return if the opportunity arises.
-
"Wonderful place to get away from it all."
Fabulous views and use of the garden much appreciated. Cottage well equipped and nice touch arriving to milk in the fridge ready for the first cuppa. Very quiet despite being on a working farm. We look forward to visiting again to do more of the numerous walks.
-
"Fabulous location and the cottage was adequately equipped for our needs"
-
"A lovely cottage with great views across the village to the hills."
A good comunity wild park where you can safely walk your dog. Barbara and here husband are very helpful.
-
"A warm welcome from Barbara on arrival and she is lovely."
Everywhere looked clean and tidy, but could have been cleaner on inspection. Loads of nice towels for showering, but other things could do with up dating. WiFi is none existent and we were told "some get it, some don't". The password didn't work.
-
"Nice accommodation for 2 people set on a working farm with pleasant views."
Simply furnished but has everything you need for a short holiday. Quiet location, good for hiking with a number of walks in the area. Friendly pub in the village and numerous places to eat nearby. Barbara gave us a warm and friendly reception upon arrival and was available if needed but we had no reason to as our stay was incident free. We had a lovely, relaxing time and would certainly consider staying here again.
-

"Lovely little cottage."
Cosy and comfortable with a great view. Felt very private even though attached to a house. Rural but only 5 minutes from Chinley. Loved it.

"Very friendly owner."
Lovely little cottage. Everything you could need. Will stay again.
-
"The cottage at Moseley House Farm was excellent, everything we needed was provided."
We were warm and cosy both in the lounge and bedroom. Its in a great position for visiting many local villages and the meals in local pubs were good. Weather was unsettled but we managed to dodge the showers, so we were very happy with our holiday. Barbara is lovely and very helpful and we would have stayed on another week if she hadnt been booked up already. We will definitely stay here again when we need another holiday in this area.
-
"An ideal accommodation for a quiet holiday with scenic views and many local walks."
-
"Ideal accommodation for two."
Friendly and helpful hosts and a lovely setting with walks from the door. We would certainly go again.
-
"Very friendly welcome by host."
Cottage attached to the owners property but we were not disturbed at all. Beautiful views over looking the peak District, very peaceful and great location. Overall cottage was lovely, great size for two plus a dog. The cleanliness could have been better, lots of areas that looked untouched for a while, with thick layers of dust and hair. Previous guests shower scrunchies and sponge were left in the shower. Bed was extremely uncomfortable, felt like an old mattress, could feel the springs and it was very hard. Head board was not attached properly so just banged the wall every time we moved. With a few amendments and better cleaning we would have given a 5 out of 5 instead of 4.
-
"The cottage was lovely and had everything you needed for two people."
There are lovely walks from the doorstep although a lot are uphill but the views are beautiful We had a lovely peaceful four day stay
-
"Recommended."
Very nice comfortable stay. Lovely views from garden. Wouldn’t put anyone off from staying here apart from the price. I’ve been staying at cottages for over 20 years and sadly there just getting too expensive.
-
"Exactly what I needed - peaceful, quiet, scenic, clean, comfortable, adequate parking just to the side of the cottage (off road) and within easy reach of shops and hiking trails."
The added bonus is that the cottage is all on one level which is beneficial for those with limited mobility. The owners are very respectful and non-intrusive, but always available if needed. Barbara is very accommodating, easy to chat with, I really enjoyed my time there and would stay again without hesitation. I would highly recommend this cottage.
-
"Lovely cottage ."
Has everything required for your stay. Perfect location for access to walks. The owner is lovely and available for any advice if required. I would definitely recommend a stay here .
-
"We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Mosely House Farm cottage."
My only criticisms would be that there were multiple cobwebs around the house and that the kitchen utensils/equipment were rusted and seemed in need of an upgrade. Despite the horrible weather during our stay, we really enjoyed our time there.
-
"The cottage is cozy, comfortable and well equipped with fabulous views and our hostess was helpful, friendly and welcoming."
-
"We had a brilliant stay at in the cottage at Moseley House Farm ."
Barbara was very welcoming & informative on surrounding areas to visit. . The cottage was very homely & had everything that was required plus milk a rail of extra towels . WI -FI was rather intermittent but that was not an issue really . The large garden was a delight to sit out & just enjoy the stunning views & our dog Titch spent lots time just sitting & watching the sheep . The weather was just perfect too ☀️ Could not fault the location with the village , a 10 min walk away with all the facilities needed. Loads of walks without taking the car . Certainly would like to return . Thank you Barbara .
-
"Just loved the location of the cottage."
Beautiful views. Five public houses in walking distance. Walks straight from the door. Didn't use our car for several days. Barbara extremely helpful with advice about walks nearby. Had a really comfortable stay.
-
"As always, a great and friendly welcome from the owner."
Nothing too much trouble. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. A great place to relax, with superb countryside walks, local amenities and friendly neighbourhood.
-
"Friendly Hosts, Wonderful View Beware SatNav will take you the long way round so go to Chinley & navigate from there."
-
"Lovely, friendly hosts."
Comfortable, homely cottage and stunning scenery, what more could you want. Well, better weather would have been nice but that is in the lap of the gods. Would thoroughly recommend for a couple wanting peace and quiet in a lovely location
-
"Just the tonic Bella and I needed after lockdown."
Complete rest in wonderful surroundings yet so near places to visit. My second visit and I will be back for a third!
-

Lovely views and local walks. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation. Owners welcoming and always pleasant and friendly.
-
"Friendly and welcoming hostess."
-
"The cottage is clean and functional,a bit better than in the photos, with great views of the surrounding area."
The cottage is attached to the farmhouse. The decor and furnishings are a mixture of old and newish. For the price we paid it was good value, with the owner very informative about the area.Chinley is a good base for the area, with shops and some great pubs and walks. We were due to stay 3 nights but with the covid19 virus starting to effect travel and social interaction along with the weather deteriorating we decided to cut our stay short. We hope everything is ok for the owners in the future.
-
"A real gem."
Panoramic views, beautifully furnished and very peaceful, Bella and I had a wonderful week here. I would love to return.
-
"The owner was warm, friendly and helpful."
The cottage was in beautiful peaceful surroundings with ample parking and lovely views and we would highly recommend the cottage to others. We are encouraged to continue booking with Sykes as we feel that we get excellent customer service whenever we are in contact and all cottages that we have booked have been of excellent quality and have been as described. We look forward to our next cottage in April.
-

It was very restfull and relaxing. We warmly recommend it
-
"The owner was very helpful and friendly and the views from the cottage were fabulous ."
We will certainly use Sykes again and possible the same property , thank you.
-
"The owner was very friendly and welcoming and the place had all most people would realistically need for a week away."
A washing machine would have been an added bonus. There was WiFi at the property but the connection was very slow at times but that aside the place was in an absolutely brilliant location, the views from the property were fantastic and I would be happy to go back again in the future if I visit the same area. The only thing to be aware of is that the location of the point on the "view on map" isn't accurate, the property is actually about 500 metres further south than what the Sykes Cottages listing shows it as - fortunately a quick call to the friendly owner sorted it and we found it OK. Thanks for a wonderful time away.
-
"Geographically it is a good Centre for visiting Manchester (by train 35 minutes) where we visited the BBC Media City, athe Lowry Museum as well as the Peak District (Chatsworth House and Lyme Park (National Trust)."
-
"Reasonably priced, peaceful, lovely views from the cottage and wonderful places to visit."
All within a good distance from the cottage.
-
"Cosy cottage."
....comfortably furnished with all that you need at hand. Friendly welcome. Ideally situated for exploring the Peak District and beyond. Close to local amenities and supermarket a short drive away. Quiet location on a farm....lovely seeing the lambs at close quarters.....beautiful views and access to patio and garden. Couldn't fault it.
-
"Cottage was warm and comfortable"
-
"Lovely, clean and cosy cottage with amazing views."
Got lost a little as the satnav took us further than required. Found the farm but cottage was opposite to it. Directions could be improved in the instructions. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Close to amenities and pubs so no issue in stocking up the kitchen. No complaints at all. Some suggestions would be to improve the wifi a bit. and for a personal touch, perhaps some milk and eggs from the farm in the fridge. Would love to stay here again.
-
"Perfect place from anywhere to anywhere"
-
"Lovely cottage, inside and out, and one of the best views you'll see."
Owners very friendly. We'll definitely be back.
-
"This cottage was really lovely and homely."
Barbara, the owner, was very welcoming and was there if we needed her - we didn't. The cottage was easy to find and well situated for touring from there. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone thinking of going to the Peak District.
-
"Excellent welcome and facilities."
Warm gas fired central heating plus back up electric fire if needed -it wasn't. Lovely large lounge plus all necessary kitchen appliances and lovely comfortable bedroom. Plenty of local walks for our retriever dog and friendly welcome at nearby pubs too. A great place to relax with additional comfortable garden furniture and great views.
-
"The cottage was very good and had everything I needed ."
The owners were very friendly and helpful. Lots of good walks within easy reach of the cottage. Castleton and Bakewell well worth a visit Both the pubs in the village served a very wide choice of hand pulled beers. Dogs are allowed in both. I had a very enjoyable holiday as did my dog.
