  • "The cottage is small but nicely presented."

We enjoyed our stay but did have a couple of niggles: The shower wasn’t always hot It would have been nice to have some local information (where the nearest shops were and facilities available in Ironbridge) walks etc. we did find a walk for the dog in rough park but found it by accident rather than knowing it was there. However, overall we enjoyed our stay in No.6

  • "I am happy with my stay, the cottage was clean and well-presented with ample hot water for the shower."

I would have liked to turn the heating on at times but did not know how to. Please note that the instructions for finding the numbered parking bay are confusing because Sykes gives directions from Ironbridge but the owner gives advice from the opposite direction! Also, the contact number was reluctant to answer her phone!

  • "This cottage was perfect for two people."

The location is beautiful and just a 20 minute walk from Ironbridge with lovely pubs and shops. Other museums were on the doorstep with the local pub a few minutes walk. Outstandingly clean, a well equipped kitchen, TVs in lounge and both bedrooms and shampoo, conditioner and gel in the shower. Bedrooms luxurious and comfy. Initially the parking seemed tricky but you quickly get used to it and it’s just across the road. No criticisms at all but considerations for us would be the stairs- narrow and sheer, downstairs bathroom if you’re a nighttime loo user and space is compact around the furniture. People along this row tend to sit outside in the front gardens since there is no rear facility and it felt very neighbourly. Our adult children are looking to come and see for themselves as they were so impressed with our experience here. We would certainly return as there is so much to see.

  • "The cottage is just a dream home, the most wonderful stay ever."

The interiors look good on the photo but so much better in real life as so comfortable. The kitchen is just amazing!!! A dish a spoon, a pan, there is promise everything you need there for Sunday roast to full English breakfast!! And all brand new. The pub a 2 min walk away was great fun and so well priced. Amazing walks and Ironbridge was a great day out that we just walked to. We did not use our car as everything walking distance. Also the house is spotless, you must stay here as we just left and missing it so much.

  • "We found the cottage really cosy and comfortable, with all the amenities you could want."

The beds were really comfortable and the cottage was nice and warm. It's well-located. In case it's helpful to future customers, here's how to find the parking: as you step out of the cottage's front door turn left and it's a sharp right turn downhill, just before you get to the pub. Thanks for a great stay.

  • "Lovely cottage, clean and equipped to a good standard."

The cottage is compact could do with a smaller table in the kitchen, the pouffe in the lounge could do with being replaced with a smaller table. Log burner is there for show cannot be used. The Cottage is within walking distance to of Ironbridge and a number of the museum’s.

Hi Nicola, Thanks so much for your feedback! We appreciate the table makes it snug in there! But we figured people would rather sit down as a group around the table rather than a high, smaller breakfast bar which was the alternative. Will definitely consider swapping the pouffe though! :) Property Owner

  • "Perfect Property for a couple exploring the Ironbridge gorge attractions, many of which are just on the opposite side of the road."

Also a friendly local pub only 200metres away. Perfectly Clean and fresh with every single household item that you could wish for. Car parking is about 100metres walk, but not a problem. All highly recommended.

Thank you for the feedback :) much appreciated! Property Owner

  • "The stair carpet needs immediate repair - it is very dangerous."

We reported the issue to Sykes and the owner at the start of our stay. Other than that, a lovely, well-appointed cottage. A little cluttered, maybe - a smaller kitchen table and lose the pouf would free up some much needed space. Need better instructions in finding the parking. But a great base to explore a beautiful part of the world. And a great pub two minutes walk from the front door.

  • "Number 6 is a lovely cottage, quite compact, plenty of character and very well equipped for a comfortable stay."

Some minor observations, the car parking space is a short walk from the house, over the road and down a hill, not easy for loading/unloading the car as you cannot safely stop outside the cottage. The kitchen table & chairs, and the lounge furniture are probably too chunky in style for the rooms so you do feel a little squeezed on space but it would not put me off staying again. Lovely walks on the doorstep, great for dog owners.

  • "Lovely little cottage, well decorated and great location."

The advert did say there was a cot, high chair and stair gate available but theses were not there when we arrived. The floorboard on the top step also appears broken, which made it a bit dangerous for the kids to climb up and down the stairs.

  • "Very nice house, helpful owner provided stair gate."

There's a nice play park 100 yards north along the road. The house parking location is Https://w3w.co/starfish.gosh.pastime in case that helps others!

  • "An amazing cottage to stay in and a very convenient location, we even found pictures and plans of the cottages in one of the museums."

We could of done with a map of where the parking location was as I was still confused even after a phone call, also we would of benefited from a second key so we can leave someone behind and lock up.

IRONBRIDGE

Telford 6 miles; Bridgnorth 8.5 miles; Shrewsbury 15 miles.

Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Today the area is far from industrial and nature has reclaimed most of the former industrial sites, leaving a unique and beautiful wooded valley. The gorge is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes whilst the delightful village is famous for being home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79. The village has a splendid variety of pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms and a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum and many National Trust properties. Ironbridge is a wonderful base from which to explore the beautiful county of Shropshire.
