  • "Decor was nice although some painted areas were peeling."

The cottage was very comfortable. It would have been handy to have a couple of small saucepans in the kitchen. I did not find a visitors book or any leaflets of attractions in the surrounding area which would have been nice, although you can look things up on your phone. A lovely stay even with the wet weather.

  • "This is a lovely cottage in a good area for branching out and visiting places such as Chester, Shrewsbury , Birmingham."

It was clean and tidy inside and the beds were really comfortable. There was ample kitchen utensils and appliances in the kitchen. Areas for improvement could include; The cooker hob took a little while to figure out without any instructions, leading us to have to google how to operate it. There was a definite underlying smell of damp in the downstairs WC with noticeable mould spores on the peeling paint. The upstairs bathroom had a damp smell too. It would have also been good to have control over the bathroom radiators as having to leave damp towels hanging around only added to the overall damp smell. There is no outside area to hang towels if it is sunny so they stayed damp throughout the week. It would have been useful to have a lamp in the sitting areas at night instead of the wall lights as these reflected onto the TV screen. We enjoyed our stay here and liked the cottage and its location but wouldn’t stay again due to the dampness.

  • "An absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean cottage."

The location is perfect - a short walk away from lovely pubs, some great museums, and 10/10 fish and chips. There’s no washing machine (the listing is clear about this) but we can recommend Dawley Laundrette which was great. It would’ve been useful to have some cleaning supplies, extra bin bags, and a couple of extra dishwasher tablets.

It’s the perfect base to explore Ironbridge, a short walk down the hill. We loved our stay

  • "I can’t use the words I would like to describe our stay!"

!! Although the cottage is in a beautiful village we had to cut our stay short! The OWNER decided to have a party next door, although her instructions clearly state NO parties! I’ve never felt so intimidated in my life! This property wasn’t cheap and I didn’t expect to be spoken to in the way I was! My 7 yr old grandson was in tears! Despite the good quality of the towels we certainly would not recommend staying here!

  • "A gorgeously appointed property in an excellent location to explore all that Ironbridge has to offer."

Things we found; Hosts were helpful and quick to respond when we had a question. You may wish to bring kitchen surface cleaner, tea towels, oven gloves and bin bags. Car parking not immediately obvious but very handy. Beds were superbly comfortable but are quite high so may be difficult for some to get into. We had an absolutely fabulous stay and would thoroughly recommend a holiday at this property!

  • "The only words that came out of our mouths when we first stepped through the door of No 7 were WOW !"

! It is a STUNNING cottage. I love the stable doors , the tiled floors and the whole quirky feel about it and the decoration is beautiful . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here . Yes the stairs are steep but there’s a good handrail to hold onto so wasn’t an issue for us . Great location, spotlessly clean and lots of appliances for us to enjoy . Will definitely be back and thank you

Fantastic location for exploring Ironbridge with lovely dog walks on the doorstep. A little seat on the front patio would be a great addition.

  • "No 7 is approximately 30 minutes walk to Ironbridge."

Two museums conveniently situated directly opposite the house to visit and a fantastic but pricy cafe but these local attractions are not open Mondays or Tuesdays. Great location for all of the Blists Hill associated museums and you can also take dogs to Blists Hill and the gorge museum which is a big plus but none of the others we found allowed dogs. The cottage itself is very quaint, decorated and furnished to a good standard. I didn’t realise I needed to bring a hairdryer as I assumed it would be a standard item, there are three televisions and three toilets! We visited end of February and the log burner is still not connected sadly and there is a draft from the fireplace but throws are provided, the heating works well and the water pressure is off the scale! Very handy large cloakroom. Hopefully the lighting in the bathroom and a shower issue will be fixed next time we come. Would highly recommend this place, especially if you like walking as there are lots of hill walks from the house locally, my boys spotted deer and a fox at close distance :)

  • "Wonderful cottage."

Spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Great location and we really enjoyed our stay. The instructions for parking really need to be clearer as we had no idea where to go and it wasn’t at all obvious. No instructions in the cottage, it was only due to the friendly neighbour that we found it.

Hi Malcolm. Thanks so much for your feedback we really appreciate it. We know the parking is a little tricky to find, so we have updated the property description with clearer instructions. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! :) Property Owner

! Beautiful cottage with lots of original features as well as all the mod cons and contemporary styling. Has everything you need and ideally located - 2 mins walk to pub, 10 mins to Co-op and it really is only a 20 mins walk to Ironbridge. Downstairs toilet an added plus and the reserved parking space was much appreciated. If it's available - book it !!

IRONBRIDGE

Telford 6 miles; Bridgnorth 8.5 miles; Shrewsbury 15 miles.

Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Today the area is far from industrial and nature has reclaimed most of the former industrial sites, leaving a unique and beautiful wooded valley. The gorge is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes whilst the delightful village is famous for being home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79. The village has a splendid variety of pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms and a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum and many National Trust properties.
