"What a lovely cottage."
Plenty of room, both inside and out. Excellent walks from the door. (Hill up to the cottage is steep. Good cycle tracks nearby, especially the canal track to Cromford. Would recommend this cottage and will return.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay."
It had everything you needed and comfy. Situated in a lovely area with great views. I hope to visit again soon.

"We had a lovely week at midway cottage."
Well equipped and comfy. Nice to have 2 separate lounges, enabled the teenagers to have own space.

"The property is in a lovely spot."
It is a lovely building and has everything you need for a short break or longer stay. The host was very helpful and quick to contact us when we explained a couple of issues such as stiff taps that wouldn't turn. The property was clean and tidy except for the ceilings which were full of cobwebs. The road to the property is very narrow and steep which is probably difficult in poor weather / the dark but was fine in the fine weather we had.

"The property is in a beautiful location and we appreciated it's views."
Facilities in general good. However our downstairs twin room was very disappointing. The mattresses were NOT good for a comfortable night's sleep. The bed linen had not been ironed. The pillows likewise were uncomfortable. And there was no blind or curtain over the glass in the door, letting in light .

"Lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere so extremely quiet and peaceful."
Everything you could wish for was provided. We had many days out from the cottage - some close and some further afield. Could do with an instruction booklet on how to use the heating, underfloor heating, oven, hob ect.

"Lovely week stay at Midway."
Kitchen fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, fridge has a 3 freezer drawers. Beds and seating in lounge very comfy. Both settees in the lounge are electric recliners with handy built in charging points. Underfloor heating nice and cosy once we worked out how to use it , great log burner. Only thing we missed was that there are no wardrobes in any bedrooms but plenty of hooks on the back of downstairs doors to hang clothes. The ample draw storage does make up for the space if you don't mind folding clothes for storage . Had a slight issue that was nobody's fault that was responded to immediately by a call to Julie and sorted in 10 minutes, a clear sign of a good, caring, and responsive host. A car is a must to get out and about. A welcome pack with local information etc would be helpful as would instructions for the different heating controls. Thank you for a lovely stay.

"Lovely, comfortable cottage with great facilities."
The log burner in the lounge was fabulous to have on in the evening and was more than capable of keeping us all warm. To be honest, if you’re not comfortable with having the log burner on, then the underfloor heating will keep you snug. Location was excellent with easy access to lots of interesting and beautiful places to visit. All three generations of our family were happy to stay there and the little treats left on our arrival were an added bonus, thank you!

"We loved our stay at Midway Cottage."
It was perfect for our family Christmas break. The cottage is warm and comfortable with everything you need. We appreciated the effort the owner had gone to in decorating the cottage for Christmas and the lovely surprise goodies she had left for us. Would definitely visit again.

"A lovely base to stay and explore the local area from."
Cosy cottage with plenty of space - we had 4 adults and 2 children staying and it was ideal. Recommend walking along the Cromford canal - we used the train for one way of the journey. Beautiful views - thanks for a great week. On a practical note it was great being able to use washing machine/tumble dryer (although a small airer might be a good addition?). Log burner work well, although underfloor heating was so effective we didn’t really “need” it (!) but a fire guard to prevent infants getting onto hearth would be great to borrow (all safe as it was with adults around but would have been useful). Thanks!

"The cottage was perfect in every way."
Very clean and very well stocked. Could not fault it at all. Thank you

"What a gem of a cottage and such a beautiful setting!"
The welcome pack was a really lovely touch and accommodated all ages! The cottage is well equipped, very clean, and felt warm and cosy. Three nights was not long enough. Thank you very much, we all had a wonderful time.

"Thanks for the stay at Midway."
Albeit the weather was extremely wet. Generally, a good cottage with some issues that need sorting. I suspect that the following points were exacerbated due the change of seasons and would not have been apparent during the summer months. The upstairs shower is leaking and has been for some time. The ceiling at the bottom of the stairwell is marked and water drips through onto the stair carpet. There are patches mould growing around the house and needs attention. The worst case is inside the underbed draw in the downstairs bedroom. There are three different modes of heating in the cottage and as many electric underfloor heating controls. The instructions for the three types of heating were available but too complicated and we couldn't be bothered with them. The heating come on at random times but insufficient to do it's intended job. I venture to suggest that this is a contributing factor to the growth of mould. Mattress protectors would be good investment.

"A lovely comfortable cottage in a good location."
Perfect for us and our dog who enjoyed the freedom of the garden. We hope to come back another time.

"Midway Cottage was a great find and it more than covered all the needs of our family of 6."
The cottage is in a beautiful location over looking rolling hills and short drives from a whole host of amazing towns, villages and tourist adventures to explore. The accommodation itself was really good and having two lounges, both with TV's, was a real holiday luxury and kept everyone happy. Midway Cottage had everything we could have listed and more, it was very well equipped and all quite modern. Having a separate washing machine and tumble dryer was brilliant for our rainy days. The rain did keep us from fully enjoying the garden with its outdoor eating area, but the extensive bird life was entertaining from the windows. Julie was a most excellent host and was very helpful and welcoming. We would love to return if the opportunity allows us in the future.
