"We stayed at Coppice Hollow this time last year, and enjoyed it so much … we returned."
A great holiday cottage in a good location. Nothing to fault. Thank you
Thank you for your lovely review, and return visit! Bea and Den Property Owner

"The house was nice enough and clean."
Although the rug in the lounge had crumbs over it and the hoover supplied didn't work it just blew out dusty smelly air. The net curtain in the single room was stained with black mould so we took that down. It's situated close to Buxton town and is close to lots of other things in the area.
So sorry, the house was not it's usual standard. We have rectified the problems you highlighted. We hope it didn't affect your enjoyment too much. Bea and Dennis Property Owner

"We had a wonderful stay at Coppice Hollow."
A very comfortable house with all possible amenities for a family of 5 (3 older teenagers). Stunning views and ideally located to explore the gorgeous Peak District.
Thank you very much for your lovely review. So glad you enjoyed the cottage. Bea and Den Property Owner

"May 2024 Enjoyed our stay in Buxton."
House was very clean and had everything we needed. Convenient for the centre of Buxton and surrounding areas. Lovely theatre which we went to and enjoyed. Country side was amazing, we live in south lakes which we think is beautiful but the hills and peaks of Derbyshire are stunning.
-
"Great property from which to explore Buxton and the Peak District."
Clean and comfortable and excellent facilities

"Coppice Hollow is a lovely place to stay with such amazing views to wake up with."
The cottage was well laid out and made for a relaxing stay. Would love to come back but this may be our last visit due to us finding out this lovely cottage is for sale. Well worth a stay and close to Buxton with good bus links to Glossop and Buxton on the doorstep. The whistling kettle is a quirky extra with this cottage.

"We had a lovely weekend at Coppice Hollow."
The cottage is really nice and cosy, it's clean and has everything you need. Lovely view from front window. It's close to Buxton village approx 20 min walk if you don't mind steap hill walking back. We were visiting Chatsworth House this was less than half hour away by car.
Thank you for the lovely review. So pleased you enjoyed the cottage. Property Owner

"One of the, if not the best, holiday home I have rented."
Very clean and well equipped, the rooms were large and comfortable. The owners clearly spent their time during lockdown extremely productively. Derbyshire is, arguably, the most splendid of England’s inland Counties, and if staying in the area again would definitely seek out Coppice Hollow. Thank you.
Thank you for the great review, it means a lot to us that you enjoyed your stay B and D Property Owner

"Really enjoyed the stay."
The cottage was in a beautiful location and was spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay again.

"I think is the right time to replace old carpets and at least wash the furniture (if possible) all this to get rid of this smell."
Better hoover needed as well as some hard floor cleaning equipment. Thanks
We checked the Visitor's book and read that you enjoyed your stay in this "fantastic cottage" and "hope to be back again". We were therefore puzzled by your published review about the furniture "smell". We immediately visited the cottage and could find no evidence of untoward "smells". The property is cleaned by a professional management team at every changeover. The Owners Property Owner

"Lovely cottage, bed was so comfortable!"
Great attention to detail. Terrific location too, enjoyed exploring Buxton and the surrounding area.

"We had a lovely stay over Christmas at this very comfortable and stylish house."
I would visit again. The parking spot wasn't ideal as so close to the main road but all in all a very pleasant stay.
Thank you for your lovely review. Just to note there are 2 off road parking spaces just passed the cottage on the right. Property Owner

"We loved Coppice Hollow, it was extremely clean."
Could not find fault with anything. A perfect holiday.
-
"Was not aware of the road, the photos look like the property overlooks a field, lovely vista."
Once you have paid you get the address and you can see a busy road. I am a light sleeper, had I known about the road I would not have booked this property. Nevertheless it was very comfortable and clean, a lovely stay.

"Lovely! Big."
Comfortabele. Great view.
-
"A very nice property ideally situated to get to Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire."
Very clean with modern facilties which makes the property feel like a home away from home.

"We had a brilliant stay at this property."
It was a fantastic base for walking into Buxton and exploring the surrounding area. The Goyt valley, Lyme Park and Buxton Country Park were all great places to visit and the kids enjoyed the Pavilion Gardens and Mr Simms sweet shop in town. The accommodation itself was warm and cosy and we had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the shower, the welcoming tea, biscuits and milk and the stunning views from the house and garden. We spent many late afternoons relaxing in the garden admiring the scenery. Just fabulous!

"Very comfortable."
The location and parking are as described - we didnt want to walk in to Buxton and those who might prefer to might be put off by the up hill walk back. The owners kindly left us some New Year Champagne and some mince pies - such personal touches made us feel very welcome. Very happy to recommend Thank you

Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Far exceeded expectation. One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

"Felt like home from home, lovely and comfortable and clean."
Thank you.

"House was clean, well equipped and in a lovely location."
There was a bit of traffic noise in the front bedroom but it didn't disturb our sleep as it was only really noticeable in the early morning. We would recommend this property for it's overall quality.
-
"The cottage was clean and comfortable and felt warm and cosy to come back to after a day of walking in the stunning countryside around during a cold, wet May."
Beds were good and we liked the extra televisions in bedrooms. The kitchen and bathroom were excellent, but a few extra utensils needed such as peeler, larger frying pan or wok and another hot pan mat. We would definitely recommend.
-

"Distance to the centre of Buxton allowed us to walk there and back several times during the week."
Stunning views from the front of the house..

"Lovely house, that is very homely and that where the owner has paid attention to detail."
We loved the view from the front of the house, and it is in an ideal location to access the Peaks.
-
"A beautiful home from home."
We stayed here for 3 months during lockdown and it was perfect in every way. A beautifully and thoughtfully designed and decorated home which has been recently renovated. The living room is especially lovely, cosy and comfortable. Fast WiFi too. The kitchen is high quality and well equipped. The shower is amazing! The view of the Derbyshire countyside out of the bedroom and living room window is beautiful and we never got tired of it. There are lots of fantastic walks on the doorstep, and it's a 15 - 20 minute walk into the town of Buxton. We didn't need a car, but if you have one this is a great location to explore the whole Peak District. The owners and neighbours were friendly and helpful. We'll always look back at our time at Coppice Hollow very fondly.

About the location
BUXTON
Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.
It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
