"The property is finished to a good standard and the facilities are excellent."
The property information emails sent by the owner and Sykes are very helpful. However the access via a low door way and very steep staircase is a problem. There needs to be a warning sign for restricted head height on the entry door to the main building. I cut my head on the door frame. The property would benefit from secondary glazing in the living room as there is a lot of road noise. The beebing from the zebra crossing is very annoying. The double bed was very uncomfortable, the glass shelf over the bathroom sink is dangerous and should be removed. It is very difficult to wash you face without banging your head. Despite these issues we still enjoyed our visit.
Hi Paul, I am glad to see that you enjoyed your visit. We have popped a sticker on the door. I think the bed is a matter of personal preference as many guests have said how comfortable it is and we have invested in a high quality mattress. We’ve not had any issues raised about the shelf before, but Manifold is currently being redecorated, so we can take a long during the works. Best wishes, Jane Property Owner

Where you’ll be staying
ASHBOURNE
Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.
Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collecting of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.
