"Hi, couldn’t ask for more, exceptionally clean and very tastefully furnished."
The information sent through was very useful. We found being in the centre of Ashbourne very convenient and the parking was a bonus. Takeaway from Chinese underneath was delicious. Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again. Thank you Pauline and Dougie

"Lovely and clean and fantastic position with great parking and well kitted out Could have done with coat hooks to hang coats and one in bathroom for robes."
Some of paintwork in bathroom showing small signs of use (could be expected late in season). Bathroom door lock was broken and bathroom doors didn’t close properly. Very clean, cosy and comfortable throughout. Had a great stay
Hi Marion, many thanks for the review. These are jobs all forwarded for action by our handyman. Best wishes, Jane. Property Owner

"Lovely well maintained property."
Spotlessly clean. In an ideal location with pubs and restaurants a short walk away. A few extra cups and more cutlery would mean you could make better use of the dishwasher.
Thanks for the lovely review Denise! Best wishes, Jane Property Owner

Fabulous accommodation in a great location, just one small recommendation a couple of side tables in the lounge would be handy when sitting on the sofa or armchair

"We had a wonderful stay."
The apartment was really comfortable and in a great location - in the centre of Ashbourne with easy access to all the sights of the Peak District. It was exactly as described on the site and if we return to the area we would look to book this apartment again.
Thanks so much for the lovely review Penelope! Best wishes, Jane. Property Owner

"This is a really nice apartment - a great location right in the centre of Ashbourne with an easy to use parking space."
It's been well designed with good quality furnishings throughout. It was spotlessly clean on arrival, and the welcome pack we were e-mailed beforehand was comprehensive and professional - even including a YouTube video of how to find Derbyshire House. A great stay and very impressed.
Hi Helen, thanks so much the lovely review.! I am glad you like our video of directions. We've not had a single guest struggle to find Derbyshire House yet, so it was well worth doing! That's particularly reassuring for weekend arrivals, coming to us later on Friday evenings. Staying in Ashbourne is great, but as you found, being able to quickly and easily find the accommodation, and then be able to go out and about sightseeing and have the reassurance of a car parking space at all times when you come back, is a very useful USP for us! Many thanks, Jane Property Owner

Hi Preeti, It was an absolute pleasure having you stay! Thanks for the lovely review. Best wishes, Jane Property Owner

"The Property was very well presented and good quality."
The drawback was the very steep staircase to the flat which is situated on the top floor, which in Skye Cottages defence we were warned about. The heating was very difficult to workout and on occasions we were very cold, we never got the towel rail to work during our 4 night stay. The main negative to the property was the traffic noise which was relentless, the road outside is a main run for lorries and fairly heavy traffic. Also the constant bleeping of the pedestrian crossing was very annoying. The property desperately needs double glazing! Even as a good sleeper I had issues.
Hi Garry, Many thanks for the feedback. We've had new acoustic glazing installed in the bedroom of Manifold Dale this week and it's worked very well, without affecting the lovely view guests enjoy across the Market Square. We've not had an issue with the towel rail before and we've double checked the setting. It seems fine, but I will keep an eye on that. Best wishes, Jane Property Owner

"The accommodation was exceptional, every need catered for."
Comfortable, relaxing place to stay , very close to many peak district towns. Slightly steep stairs to gain access to apartment but we'll worth it.
-
"Perfect location in Ashbourne and for exploring the surrounding areas."
Lovely apartment well furnished and decorated. Would definitely recommend!
-
"An extremely well equipped apartment, we really enjoyed our week there."
Would love to stay there again and would recommend to friends and family. Just a minor thing to help the owner as a hook for hanging clothes in the bathroom would be helpful and a soap dish in the shower,
-
"Lovely apartment overlooking the pretty market square, it was a shame that big lorries rumbled pass the window at all times of the day and night."
The complimentary wine and chocolates were a nice surprise and The Peak District was beautiful with lot's of places to visit.
-
"You need to explain that the accommodation is on an horrendously busy road with hundreds of of lorries going by for 10 hours a day."
-
"Excellent apartment with perfect location!"
Exceeded all of our expectations. This apartment is one of the cleanest nicest places we have ever stayed and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. We would love to return again

"Great flat air con just such a bonus this week reaching 30"
-
"Very much enjoyed our stay."
The apartment was scrupulously clean, which was reassuring during covid times. There was a thoughtful welcome gift in the form of wine and chocolates which after a dreadful journey up the M5 and M6 was very much welcomed on arrival. Everything is just as pictured with all necessities provided, excepting a washing machine. The weather during our stay was muggy and the aircon provided was essential and made things comfortable as the flat doesn't have much in the way of natural ventilation. There are quite a few stairs but this is clearly shown in the pictures and they are not difficult or awkward to climb. Ideally situated within a stone's throw of some nice cafes and pubs. I would thoroughly recommend this lovely apartment.

"The apartment was perfectly situated in the centre of Ashbourne & having a car parking space was very convenient."
It is decorated beautifully with all the amenities you need for your stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to couples who are planning on exploring the Peak District. I very much look forward to staying again.

"Superb appartment, definatly 5 star."
-
"Great base for exploring Derbyshire, especially the Derwent Valley."
Lively town, with an excellent butchers by the main carpark. Well equipped for self catering. Minor niggle - no spare kitchen bin liner and I could not work out how to get the towel rail to come on. The lobby entrance to Manifold Dale (illuminated by the housekeeping interior window) would be a more useful space if coat hooks were on the wall.
-
"Very clean & modern."
Loved it. Thank you to Jane for the welcome chocolates & wine. We will be back
-

"Excellent property only drawback a lot of stairs"
-

Great Location with easy parking, it could not have been better! We have been so lucky that it was still free!

About the location
ASHBOURNE
Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.
Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collecting of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.
