  • "An absolute hidden gem."

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful village. So much more than expected, and absolutely wonderful experience as a family, with our dogs. The cosiest place for a completely relaxing break with good amenities. The hosts were wonderful with us with any questions also. Sad to have left I'll be honest! 10/10

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and great to hear you had a wonderful experience in Longnor and the Peak district - topped off by the snow! Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Bakehouse Croft is a great little place set in a nice village."

The cottage is warm, clean and comfortable with a good range of facilities. Parking is tight but doable out the front of the property. The log burner is fab at night. The cottage is on a fairly busy road which was not an issue for us. All contact with the owners was excellent with prompt responses to any queries we had and they were keen to help. Plenty of things to do and see including walks, Chatsworth etc in easy reach. Lovely pub in the village serving great food alongside a fish and chip shop and cafes too. In short we would recommend Bakehouse Croft as a good base to explore the area.

  • "We had a lovely relaxing break, cottage was lovely and cosy, clean and bed very comfy."

We lit the fire, sadly we were unable to clean the fire out as no ash bucket or spade. Lovely little village, even though cottage on busy main road through the village, around 6pm it goes very quiet. Just one little thing unable to close bathroom door as it felt like it was going to come off hinges, but to us was not a problem. Thank you owners of property you have a lovely little cottage.

  • "Lovely ,well maintained little cottage."

Nice to have a decent size fridge too, meant we could stock up and not worry about shopping on holiday. The only thing we had a slight problem with was that the parking space at the front of the cottage was a bit tight even for our smallish car.

  • "Enjoyed our stay at the cottage."

Facilities fine. A few minor issues on maintenance I would draw the owner’s attention to: Several of the radiators didn’t get warm. They may need bleeding. Additional plug in heaters enabled us to keep warm. The shower waste pipe didn’t drain as fast as it should and the shower tray threatened to overflow so had to keep turning the shower off. The frying pan didn’t have a flat base which meant it wasn’t very compatible with the induction hob. We struggled with the key safe on arrival. Rang Sykes but response was poor. Repeated efforts with the keysafe revealed we weren’t pressing both buttons, so our own error. On a previous booking, I had a problem I wished to discuss. When I rang Sykes number the response was quick, but when it was established that this was not an enquiry about a new booking I was diverted to another number. After 45 minutes I gave up. Eventually I succeeded in contacting the owners directly.

  • "We had a lovely stay in this very cute cottage, everything needed was provided and the welcome gift much appreciated."

The home is perfect for 4 people, clean and nicely decorated, comfy beds and fluffy white towels. Just a very short walk into Longnor where we enjoyed the fish and chips and the local pub. Little lane around the back to nip the dog out when needed. Would highly recommend. Thank you!

Many thanks for your wonderful feedback. Your comments are really helpful for us and for other guests, really hope to welcome you back sometime soon. Regards, N&M Property Owner

  • "Well appointed cottage with everything you need."

The village has lots of amenities including a pub, serving good pub grub, fish and chip shop ( v good) general store and 2 cafes. Parking at the property is a bit tight so wouldn't suit a large suv. The road is surprisingly busy (lots of tractors). The scenery locally is stunning, especially the drive in from Crowdecote. I would definitely recommend as a base to explore the Peak district.

Thank you so much for your feedback and kind comments, it really means a lot to us. Glad you enjoyed the local fish and chips at the Manifold chip shop, that's always a hit with our kids! I imagine after the rather damp summer the local farmers are literally making hay while the sun shines at the moment, hence the tractor movements, it is something which comes hand in hand with the scenery. Thanks again for your review. Property Owner
