  • "Quaint cottage in lovely surroundings."

Clean and quite comfortable. Kitchen supplies basic but adequate. Couple of minor issues on arrival ( owners not at fault)quickly remedied by the very friendly Julie. Sofa and chair new and more modern not as in photos. The fixed shower screen would mean a squeeze into the shower if on the large side. Plenty of wood and supplies for the wood burner and, if the weather had been better, a lovely area to sit outside with a fire pit. We were made very welcome by the owners. We were there for a 3 nt break and found it easy to get to Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth and Buildwas Abbey.

  • "Amazing place to stay, beautiful inside and out, the garden could be closed off so dogs can room while relaxing, but it’s to open for me, the back yard is closed off but the front should be too, as that’s where the bbq, and open fire pit is, but apart from that I have no complaints, Stuart and Julie are friendly and very helpful, would definitely go back."

) never saw a soul all week. No welcome from anyone, no welcome pack, no tourist information brochures, no logs. Furniture was not as published the Sykes brochure and living room decor could do with some TLC. Shower opening is very small if you are a larger person you may not be able to use it. Cottage its self is lovely and was very clean, a lovely area beds were very comfortable.

Hi and thank you for your feedback. We were on our holiday during your stay so it would have been my daughter who met you. We do generally leave our guests to their own privacy, but always available if needed either in person or via messaging. There are lots of local leaflets in the property about the areas attractions etc. logs are not supplied during the hotter weather as not needed. Am aware of the scuff marks on the wall and this will be redecorated very soon. Pleased to hear that the beds are comfortable and that the cottage is lovely. Hope to see you again. And we entertained our local family several times as well. We paid the extra $10 per week for endless firewood and had a fire most nights. Great host and great place. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, was fab to meet you and wish you a safe journey home. Stuart & Julie Property Owner

  • "Most places give a welcome but not here."

Had to ask for the fire wood kit which was dropped outside with hardly any kindling ,no paper or fire lighters. The cutlery and crockery were the bare minimum which meant you had to constantly wash dishes also no paper towels in kitchen Overall disappointing by the lack of attention to the little things. This may be due to the property being up for sale and therefore a loss of interest by the owners

Many thanks for your feedback, I will check on the cutlery situation as there is normally plenty. Apologies if the supply of fire wood etc did not meet with your expectations however as the weather was so hot and you requesting a fan we did not think you needed wood for the log burner assumed it was for the fire pit! However it was lovely to have met you and Doug enjoyed your cuddles and kisses! Property Owner

Down a private road it’s very peaceful and picturesque. Everything that you would need for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Some great walks both on the owner’s land and outside the main gates. Whilst I appreciate the cottage has been lovingly restored and also surrounded by farmland it could do with a de cob webbing but apart from this the property was clean and tidy. We had some great days out in Telford, Shrewsbury, Ironbridge and Newport is a great little town to explore. Overall the weather was kind and we thoroughly enjoyed our week

The property is very secure. You’ve a track to drive down but once you reach the buildings all you can say is wow. When we walked into ours and seen the open view bedroom and grand fireplace we settled in with the log fire burning. Stunning home with lots of character. The beds are really comfortable. The gap between the shower and wall is a little narrow for bigger people like myself but I managed to squeeze passed and enjoyed a lovely power shower. Would absolutely recommend and would return again. Thank you x

  • "Yes please."

We really liked the cottage, although we weren't impressed by the lack of supplies there when we arrived. By this l mean- No toilet rolls,no kitchen roll,no dishwasher tablets, very little washing-up liquid and very little handwash liquid in the kitchen, and one spare bin liner for the kitchen bin! We were also a towel short, which apparently the cleaner had noted earlier. The owner soon provided us with that, along with one(!) toilet roll-there were four of us staying there! I felt awkward having to ask for the extra towel and a toilet roll as soon as we had arrived, but the cottage is not exactly close to a shop! As we have previously stayed in one of your properties with everything left fully stocked,we hadn't brought much with us. Were we just lucky last time,or just unlucky this time? Needless to say we could have brought these items from home,if we had known the situation. Perhaps someone there would be good enough to send a reply in case we want to book another holiday through yourselves in the future? Thanking you in advance.
