"Lovely property, well equipped, comfortable, spacious and attractive."
The upper floor is the open lan living area. Lots of parking outside de the property. Close to nice walks and pretty towns. If I was going to make one suggestion, it would be to make an upstairs cloakroom. Having said that , it’s no big deal to go downstairs to the many comfortable bathrooms.

"We traveled as a group of junior football coaches for a walking weekend and a few drinks in Buxton, staying for 2 nights."
The accommodation was spacious and well-equipped. The owners were very accommodating, even providing a BBQ for us to use (for a small charge) that wasn't listed. Despite our group of 11, it never felt crowded. Although not every room was ensuite, there were plenty of showers, and the hot water remained consistently hot. As a respectful but occasionally lively group, we appreciated the thick walls which kept noise levels manageable. The location is ideal for walks; we tackled Kinder Scout and found the Monsail Trail accessible to those with children. It’s important to be mindful of noise if you're upstairs, but other than that, it was the perfect place to stay!
-
"The property was the perfect rural setting with Buxton less than 10 mins away in a taxi."
The property was immaculate and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for 12 of us. The hosts were friendly and full of information.
-
"Brilliant place to stay, thank you very much for having us!"
-
"Meadow View was the perfect location for our large family gathering."
The property is spacious and incredibly well equipped. With a double cooker and two fridges it was easy to shop and cook for everyone. Everything was spotlessly clean on arrival. The beds were super comfy. The property is in a great location for visiting the beautiful area surrounding it. There are endless places to visit within a 30/40 minute drive. We would definitely aim to go back.
-
"It was a extremely clean and comfortable barn."
The kitchen was well equipped. It would be beneficial to up date the DVD/TV equipment. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back.

"We have visited this property several times in the past and it provides an excellent opportunity for a multi-generational holiday."
Sadly, however, some of the facilities are beginning to became a little shabby and in need of some TLC. The bedroom we occupied at the far end of the house is case in point, The mattress was very soft with a badly fitted mattress cover which was quite uncomfortable. There is a lack of hanging space and too few drawers for 2 adults staying for 7 days. The shower tray had quite a lot of mildew on the sealant and the the holder for the shower head was in danger of disintegrating. In addition the carpet in the bedroom hall was badly wrinkled and gave an unfortunate appearance associated with a degree of lack of care. The open plan living area is an excellent family space and the 'snug' a real bonus. Unfortunately the appliances seemed as though they were in urgent need of replacing: the front panel of the dishwasher was cracked; the freezer compartment of the main fridge badly needed defrosting; we had difficulty in using one of the two ovens; and one of the door-shelves of the other fridge fell out when the door was opened. The entire let, although potentially really good, needs work doing to it to brig it up to the standard we remember.

"Lovely accommodation, well equipped kitchen and fantastic space for large groups."
-
"Excellent accommodation, perfect for the coming together of two adult families."
Hosts are very helpful. Location is 2-3miles from Buxton so need your own transport. We would recommend.

"The property was lovely, as were the complimentary biscuits (thank you very much!"
). The space is HUGE! There were only 4 of us and we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen was very well equipped and we didn't want for anything. Lovely and clean and bright. We all found the beds to be very comfortable- and the towels are FABULOUS!!!! I would however advise caution when booking if you have any sight or mobility concerns- there is a steep flight of stairs, with dark carpet and no rail on the wall, just the bannister. Outside, there are three steps to the front door; the second step is rather higher than the others, and again, no rail. It may not be a problem for others but it certainly caused problems for one member of our party. Other than that, I would recommend Meadowview :) (we may even return!)

"A beautifully furnished, well equipped and spacious barn conversion set in a quiet village close to Buxton."
Could walk along footpaths in various directions. Lovely hosts Andrew and Lucy. Everything we wanted for an extended family weekend for three generations from 5 to over 70! Thank you.
-
"A fantastic place to stay, celebrating my husband's 60th with friends."
Plenty of walking, eating and socialising . Great location for visiting Buxton, by foot if you wish. Very comfortable with everything you would need and The Naughty Lounge wasn't even sat in .
-
"We had a great stay at Meadow View."
The property was very well maintained, clean and spacious. It was also well equipped for a large group and in a lovely area. Not too far from shops and Buxton but rural enough to feel away from it all. The owners were also attentive. The only downside was the some of the beds were quite uncomfortable.
-
"Excellent, we had a wonderful stay with everything we could possibly need, very warm and cosy but with plenty of room ."
Hopefully we'll be back, can't recommend it enough. Thank you x
-
"Stayed for 4 days 3 nights, perfect house has everything you need, fully equipped house."
The location is perfect for a cosy weekend away with stunning views for walks and homely pubs for drinks and food would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting back to the property!!
-
"Great place for a family get together, lots of room for eleven of us."
On site owners friendly and helpful, lovely fresh eggs from the farm. Good location, plenty to do in the area, would stay again
-
"Great property, fully equipped, lots of space for the amount of guests it caters for."
A few guests state beds were bit on soft side
-
"This was a great base to explore the area."
The house was well equipped and comfortable.
-
"Wonderful property for a large group."
Ventilation in the bedrooms could be better, we were very warm. However that is better than being cold. A few of the beds had spring bases that were noisy but overall comfort was good. One shower was draining slowly so perhaps needs looking at. Otherwise it was just perfect.
-
"Booked this holiday cottage for a weekend get together with old friends."
The cottage is in an excellent location, and the place itself was really comfortable, clean and spacious. Would definitely consider booking again for future holidays!
-
"Lovely comfortable break."
Whole family from ages 2 - 84 enjoyed it, even teenagers! The accommodation had everything we needed, owners were friendly and the surroundings were beautiful. Only downside was the weather! We would happily return
-
"We were a party of 9 visiting for a trail and yoga weekend."
This was the first one that I’ve organised so I was nervous about everything going well. Meadow View exceeded expectation, it was the perfect setting for our group and we loved the open plan upstairs space. We would definitely love to visit again.
-
"We arrived to a warm welcome."
The milk and biscuits inside the property were appreciated. The property was very clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room for the 9 of us. The kitchen/living area really had the 'wow' factor when we went upstairs. Beds were comfortable. We were impressed by the attention to detail like the 2 kettles (needed for our large party) and the rechargeable torch in the hall for dark nights. We loved the long table for us all to eat and play games at. Everything necessary had been thought about and provided. A great place to stay
-
"A great property, in an ideal location."
Very well equipped, plenty of room for 12. Would recommend.
-
"What a fabulous place."
Lovely welcome upon arrival with basics provided ie tea/coffee and biscuits which was fab. Highly recommend and will be returning again at some point.
-
"We had a weekend stay to celebrate a 30th birthday, a mix of couples, friends and kids."
It was fantastic. The properly is a great size and the kids loved the snug off the main living area, where we set up an Xbox for them. I was blown away by how well stocked it was, it had everything we needed in the kitchen, and bathrooms. The owners have thought of everything. I don't think there is a single improvement that I could suggest. Well done!
-
"Lovely clean property, we enjoyed our stay."
( You need a new toaster though). Would definitely stay again.
-
"We had a fantastic week at Meadow View for our annual 3 generation gathering."
House well equipped and comfortable. Friendly owners onsite and were able to sort out a couple of minor issues very quickly. Only about 10 mins drive to Buxton. Lots of walks nearby. Would definitely recommend this property.
-
"Honestly, a fantastic stay."
The location was great, it looked exactly like the photos, the property was lovely, we had a brilliant time!
-
"My family and I (10 of us) thoroughly enjoyed our annual pre Christmas 'get together' week at Meadow view."
The huge living/dining area was particularly useful for children to play and everyone to get around the dinner table together. The house was warm and comfortable during a very cold week. An excellent position in the countryside but close to Buxton and in easy reach of Bakewell, Castleton, Tideswell and all the places that make the Peak district so special. I'm happy to recommend Meadow view unreservedly.
-
"We really enjoyed our stay here with friends."
Well equipped kitchen and the open plan lounge is comfy. Owners very helpful. Great location just outside Buxton - suited those in our group who wanted to shop while others in the group went walking from the cottage.
-
"This was a fantastic property for our group of friends on a weekend get together."
All bedrooms a good size, an amazing social space and good location with nice walk to the nearby pub of The Church Inn. Would definitely stay again!
-
"Extremely satisfied satisfied with the property, it suited us perfectly."
An excellent base for exploring the area.
-
"We had a lovely stay at cordage."
-
"The property was a superb base for our holiday."
It is roomy, beautifully furnished, well equipped facility with a lovely area in the front of the cottage. Being adjacent to the farm was great and the area around Cowdale is quite lovely. My compliments to the owner. Thank you
-
"Very happy with the overall experience and stay at the property."
It was a corporate booking and was exactly what we needed for commuting to the exhibition in the Hillhead quarry.
-
"Great house for a large group, very impressed with the quality of the house and the cleanliness."
Good amount of bathrooms for the number of bedrooms. Upstairs lounge and kitchen very social. Only thing missing was more garden area. Be aware that parking is shared with same size house next door.
-
"A lovely cottage fantastic for a family occaision for my 80th birthday celebration."
Very comfortable and warm all facilities you could possibly require. I hope to return in the future. Full marks to the owners/managers Jim
-
"A separate toilet would be better when sharing the bathroom with 6 people."
A cafetiere would be a good addition. Otherwise it was a lovely stay and great location.
-
"Lovely property lots of space for our part of 9 loved the open plan"
-
"We absolutely loved our stay at Meadow view."
The large open plan living area and well equipped kitchen were perfect for hosting my special birthday with three generations of the family. Everything was beautifully presented. Would definitely recommend.
-
"Lovely cottage, very well equipped kitchen which meant we could cook up a storm."
Everything was spotless. The beds were a little bit on the soft side (but then some people prefer that just not our preference) and it could get very noisy in the bedrooms with people moving around upstairs particularly below the kitchen, but overall we really enjoyed our stay
-
"This was the perfect venue for a family gathering to celebrate a 50th Birthday party and the cottage was exactly as described."
The kitchen is very well appointed and the bathrooms clean. The cottage felt welcoming on arrival and the owners were friendly and helpful. Three generations of our family had a most enjoyable weekend and we would definitely recommend Meadow View to others. Constructive feedback is:- 1. Living room seating is not that comfortable, especially for people more elderly. 2. Lighting in the bedrooms is poor (very dim)
-
"Meadow View is great for family get togethers, spacious and comfortable with more than enough kitchen and dining equipment needed to cater for twelve."
It is in a very quiet location but with easy access to Buxton and the Peak District. Andrew and Lucy were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The Christmas tree and trimmings gave the house an extra wow factor.
-
"Brilliant cottage for a large group, very well equipped with plenty of kitchen utensils, great to go somewhere that doesn’t just have 12 knifes and forks!"
Well equipped for children too. Great stay, will definitely be back
-
"Have always found Sykes really easy to book through with high quality accommodation."
Meadow view did not disappoint, very clean and well stocked with all essentials. The bedrooms were comfy and well made up. The living/communal space was huge and great for a group. There is a smaller living room area off the main space which we didn’t use but would be great for quiet time.
-
"Meadow View is an extremely well furnished, equipped and run barn conversion in a beautiful part of the country."
Andrew and Lucy are very welcoming, friendly and efficient enabling us to relax and enjoy a special birthday holiday. Thank you
-
"A really great place to stay for a large family group."
Very well equipped and a comfortable and spacious living area. A lovely rural setting but close to Buxton. Just one thing to consider - the bedrooms are on the ground floor with the living area above, so early risers can be heard moving about!
-
"Fantastic accommodation!"
Would be very happy to return!
-
"This place is so much better than the photos."
11 of us just spent the weekend here and had the best time. There’s a massive living room, dining table and little snug so plenty of room. Benches outside meant we could sit out in the sun. Beds were so so comfy! Everything was immaculate! Only thing I’d say is bring your own washing up stuff and potentially a couple of non stick frying pans and loo roll but other than that we didn’t have a single issue! If anyone’s fussy about noise the living space is upstairs so this potentially isn’t for you if you go to bed early but we managed fine and intend to come back!

"Ideal for a family get together."
-
"The house is located in a beautiful quiet location and is idea for those wanting a relaxing break away from buzzing city life."
There is a Morrison’s nearby and several restaurants, including Thai, Indian and fish and chips, so you can eat in or take away that you can drive to within ten minutes. The property itself spacious and there is ample living space on the second floor for up to 12 people. The snug is a lovely add on and the large dining table is lovely and ideal for eating in together (a little difficult to get on and out of the very long bench seats though but you get used to climbing out). There are 2 TVs in the living rooms but they are not smart TVs so you have to bring along your PlayStation to access Netflix if you want to have a movie night. The kitchen is well equipped and contains all the utensils, dishes, cups, glasses and cutlery you could need and is fully equipped with 2 kettles, a fridge freezer, dishwasher and 2 cookers. The bedrooms are of an average size and three contain en-suite bathrooms. Be mindful, the plumbing is a little loud. The bathrooms look like they have been partially updated over the years but could do with new Lino on the floors. Enough pillows and towels are provided for guests, the linen is clean and there is a laundry room with a washer dryer, iron and ironing board. Handwash and toilet rolls are provided but the host may need to provide an extra roll in each bathroom as we ran out by the end of the stay. Unfortunately the beds let down the stay; they could do with upgrading. The mattresses in the rooms are uncomfortable, far too springy, soft and the frames are not very sturdy, this led to a few sleepless nights and could be a game changer when thinking of booking again. Cleanliness is good overall, the vacuum cleaner was full when we got there and could do with an empty pit between guests. The hosts were lovely and extremely helpful, I’m sure there is nothing they would not do to make our stay more comfortable.

About the location
BUXTON
Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.
It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
