Ideal for one or two people. The hosts are very welcoming and Carolyn had made me some beautiful scones even making them dairy free for me. There was also some fresh eggs from her hens and a welcome bottle of wine. She also made me a lovely fruitcake which was one of the best I’ve ever had! Being used to some cottages where you need to take everything with you it was lovely to find cleaning items and lovely scented handwash in the bathroom. The cottage made it easy for me to reach places like Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Bakewell etc. I would definitely recommend it as a lovely place to stay.

! Super cosy cottage with fabulous garden - perfect for two people. Lovely peaceful garden - so nice to sit out listening to birds singing, sheep in the field and hens pecking nearby. Carolyn's fruit cake was marvellous too, along with many extras - groceries, eggs, butter, milk, bread and wine, along with fresh flowers. There is a hairdryer, iron & ironing board, DVD player, CD player, hot water bottles, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen tea-towels, & kitchen roll. Elton Church bells ring on a Thursday evening and were delightful. Local buses to Bakewell & Matlock excellent - bus stop just by Elton church at top of lane. All in all a lovely cottage in beautiful, peaceful surroundings - would highly recommend.

It was comfortable, very clean, hosts were lovely, and the location was charming and well-paced to explore lots of beautiful places nearby. The welcome gifts were much appreciated, special mention to the home made cake! Elton as a village offers good walking options from the cottage doorstep, so ideal if you have a dog. The garden is well looked after and secure and peaceful. A very minor issue would be the wi-fi signal being poor but this is likely due to the rural location and unavoidable, so not intended as a criticism. We were very happy with our choice and hope to come back!
