"This is delightful property located near to Clee Hill and with stunnig views across south Shropshire and Herefordshire."
The property is very clean, well maintained and equipped with a cozy fire should you need it. Plenty of walks from the property and for foodies, Ludlow is down the road a few minutes away. the area aroudnthe property is also amazing, quiet country lanes, local pubs and gardens to visit alongside Iron Bridge and the Severn Valley railway not too far away. It's an ideal place to visit the lovely countryside and although the weather was poor, there is still plenty to see and do. No doubt we wil be back, hopefully in better weather!

"The bathroom is small ."
The television didn’t work throughout our stay . On the other side of the coin the house was spotless and the rooms well appointed. Our hosts were delightful and welcoming we just happened to experience a very wet and cold week in August which no doubt influenced our stay .

"Such a gorgeous place and we would like to return in the future!"
! Thank you :)
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you soon. We hope you enjoyed your uk travels (especially the concerts at Ludlow castle!) and had a good trip back home. Property Owner

"What a lovely charming cottage."
We stayed in beginning of August and really enjoyed the clean, well organised accommodation. We didn’t need the fire, but could see it as a real asset for a cosy autumn stay! Hosts were lovely: friendly, thoughtful and enabled us to feel we had the place to ourselves. Some stunning views from close by. Thank you!
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Property Owner

"We really enjoyed our week at the Coach House."
Octavia is a friendly and welcoming host. The cottage is well-equipped and comfortable with lovely views onto the garden from all rooms. The garden is well-fenced and secure so no problem bringing a dog. Set in beautiful, quiet countryside but with an easy drive to Ludlow and all that it offers. Look forward to staying again.
I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

"Had a lovely stay."
Octavia and her husband were very welcoming. The location was stunning. The only clitch was the bathroom. Could do with reconfiguring. Will recommend the Coach House to family and friends. Hopefully we will return next year.
Thank you for your lovely review. The beams do make for a tricky bathroom layout but I hope you agree give the cottage lots of character! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again. Property Owner
-
"Cottage is spacious and comfortable."
Garden is lovely and dog-secure. Bathroom and bedrooms are good, as long as you’re reasonably agile. User-friendly kitchen. A couple of coffee tables in the sitting room might be helpful. Lovely location.
Thank you for the lovely review. Glad you and your dog enjoyed your stay! We will look into getting some coffee tables. Thanks for the suggestion. Property Owner

"The cottage was comfortable and well equipped and in a pleasant location."
The parking arrangements were good in the forecourt of the owners house. The bell on the church opposite was noticeable in the quiet but was not disturbing. Our main concerns were the very low ceilings in the bathroom where the bath and hand shower were tucked under the eaves and likewise the toilet. Access is difficult for people who are less The other issue was the listing as having a pub within a mile. The pub was a long way down country lanes which are unlit and have no footpath. I am sceptical that it is within one mile. This is critical when this is a filter choice and a reason for considering the cottage,. We noticed that the information in the cottage said that the pub was about 30 mins walk while the website information at the time of booking said 15-20 mins walk.

"Octavia and James were very welcoming and friendly."
The Coach House was quaint and comfortable. The views towards Wales were wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed or stay.
Thank you for coming to stay at the coach house and your lovely feedback. We very much enjoyed meeting you both and your dog. Property Owner

"A beautiful house with everything you need, it’s beautifully situated with incredible views!"
Octavia and her husband were very welcoming and helpful and Juno (the dog) is very friendly and loving! We loved our stay and intend to return! Thank you for letting us stay!
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, we very much enjoyed meeting your family and hope you avoided the floods on your way home. (Hope our tips for navigating a waterlogged Shrewsbury helped!) Happy new year and hope to see you again. Property Owner

"A fabulous property perched on the ridge above Ludlow with easy car access to the town and areas beyond."
The Coach House is spacious, well equipped and the hosts are extremely welcoming. Ideal for walkers (the Shropshire Trail is on the doorstep) and for those looking for a quiet, get away from it all type break it is seriously recommended.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday to the Coach House. We hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

"The owners were welcoming and helpful."
The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and the garden easily accessible and secure for visitors with dogs. The upstairs was height restricted due to roof beams but these were clearly shown in the cottage details, the location is set in beautiful surroundings opposite the parish church. We enjoyed our stay and would book this property again.
Thank you for your review and I’m so pleased you enjoyed your holiday. We hope to see you again soon! Property Owner

"Lovely cottage, lovely hosts on site."
Bathroom was not really usable, designed for smaller people but as we had a plumber with us he said it could have been configured much better. Needs more crockery as not enough to fill dishwasher so had to keep washing up by hand as mugs etc needed. Definitely need more teaspoons. Cottage situated in lovely position, scenery wonderful but you do need a car. We were hoping to use bus passes but too far to walk to bus stop, this needs adding to site. Very comfortable beds and sofas and we did have a good holiday.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We very much enjoyed meeting you and your friends on our many chats with you to answer your questions and offering tips on local activities and restaurants. I’m sorry that you feel 12 mugs, and 12 of each cutlery item was not enough. If you had let us know we would have happily remedied this. The bathroom is indeed small, and the beams do limit head height as clearly stated on the website and in the photograph. As a listed building we are limited what we can change. The coach house is on a small, quiet rural lane on the edge of a village. There is no pavements, street lights or buses. One of the reasons and so many guests enjoy the peace here. The nearest bus stop is a 10-15 minute walk. I do apologise if you expected to be able to travel by bus, but as in many rural areas, I’m afraid a car is necessary and we have now amended this on our details. Property Owner

"Absolutely fabulous stay at The Coach House."
Truly magical.
We so enjoyed having you to stay for such a special occasion. I’m glad you enjoyed your time at the coach house. Property Owner
-
"Bathroom unusable."
Had to use twin bedroom because main bedroom lacked headroom. Quiet enough area very scenic.
Thank you for your feedback. I’m so sorry that the photos and note on the website did not warn you adequately of the beams upstairs. I hope you managed to enjoy the space downstairs and stunning scenery around instead. Property Owner

"'What a holiday means to us and our Springer Spaniel' - No work just relaxation and resting away from home."
- A friendly welcome from the cottage owners. - Comfortable, clean, well equipt and characterful cottage. - Idyllic, quite, private and secluded, but close to all towns and amenities. - Off road parking with ease of access for one car or more. - Private sunny garden. - Location and wonderful views. This our definition of what a cottage holiday means to us. We have found a 'Hidden Gem', a 'Home from Home'. Having stayed in all seasons on a number of occasions this cottage is warm in the cooler months and cool in the warmer months but always a warm welcome. A wonderful place to relax and just unwind.......we will return. Chris, Liz and Jenny our dog.
Thank you so much for your very kind review. It is always such a pleasure to welcome back returning guests, particularly ones we have got to know so well over the years. I do hope Jenny the spaniel is on the mend after her illness. Property Owner

"Very picturesque and quiet location near to local amenities and places of interest."
Found beds to be relatively comfortable. Let down by dust, cobwebs and dead insects on floor and ceiling. Areas could do with repainting as several chipped surfaces etc. Washing and showering nearly impossible, as bath situated under slope of the roof with low angled ceiling. Therefore cannot stand up straight. Kitchen utensils were lacking e.g. washing up bowl, scissors, bottle opener and proper handled saucepans. Cannot open one of the cupboards as too near to the cooker door. Chairs at table uncomfortable as wood digs into your legs when sitting.
Thank you for your feedback. We will look into replacing the dining room chairs - thank you for drawing it to our attention. We repaint the coach house every January. I do apologise if some scuffing has occurred since then. I do the changeover myself so was very surprised to hear about dust and dead insects. I believe I was still cleaning when you turned up an hour and a half early for check in, and wanted access straight away. The bathroom is indeed small as shown in the photographs. We do have plans for a reconfigure in the new year, but with the limited headspace it is definitely a sit down bath as mentioned on the website. We have replaced the bottle opener, thank you for drawing that to our attention, but the other items were there when I checked on your leaving, so a little confused! We are right next door if you couldn’t locate items and happy to help! Property Owner

"This cottage is lovely."
Nicely furnished, in a nice quiet spot. It is about 6 miles in a car to Ludlow. There is a Sainsbury down the hill by the A49 junction (about 4 miles). A further 2 miles is Ludlow Food centre. If you have mobility issues, the cottage may not be for you because of low beams upstairs; over the bath as well as in bedrooms. Out and about we liked Stokesay Castle best. Magical countryside.
Thank you for your feedback. I’m so pleased you enjoyed this stunning area and your stay here. We hope to see you again. Property Owner
-
"Hi, Thank you again to you and your lovely family for being such wonderful hosts."
We hope to bump into you in and around the area sometime. Warmest regards Lily, phil and phoebe xxx
I’m so glad we could give you a place to stay while you were finding your forever home. We so enjoyed meeting you and wish you all the best in the new house. Property Owner

"Lovely cottage , very well equipped ,ideal location for the sites of Shropshire ,nice friendly hosts ."
-
"Had a fantastic short break at The Coash House."
Beautiful property with excellent facilities all round. Very homely and in an excellent location for walks and village / Ludlow amenities. Octavia and James were very welcoming, and everything was explained very clearly with regards arrangements / directions etc. Plus it is so peaceful and quiet at night, which was a huge bonus!
-
"Owners very kind and helpful."
The cottage is warm and comfortable. We enjoyed many walks and excursions with our dog, and had a very good meal at the very friendly local pub.
-
"Lovely spacious and clean property in a fantastic part of the country."
Owners very friendly and welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend the Coach House. Only downside to the location was that the pub is a fair walk down a dark country lane. In fact, we never found it other than seeing a sign....pity because it looks nice.
-
"Lovely setting."
Owners welcomed us to the property on arrival. Very helpful owners, pleasant, genuine people who gladly provided local information and help with directions. Would definitely recommend and try to stay again if visiting that area.
-
"Lovely stay."
Owners made us very welcome, really lovely cottage clean and comfortable. Highly recommend and hope to return.Ludlow is stunning and worth the visit
-
"Lovely cottage - well furnished and comfortable."
Nice to have plenty of space downstairs. Owners helpful and friendly. 4* on facilities only due to lack of headroom in the shower which is unavoidable. Would definitely recommend.
-
"We have stayed here on many occasions and have always enjoyed ourselves."
The owners are very helpful and friendly, being situated next door means that any issues are quickly resolved, not that we had any ! The cottage is situated in Knowbury which is only a few miles from Ludlow with it's castle, vibrant market square and many shops. The property itself is very well kept, clean and tidy. Outside there is a private garden and parking for two cars. Thoroughly recommend this property for a relaxing stay.
-
"The coach House is a lovely cottage if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle, either a couple or family of 4."
The bathroom is quirky but well set out. Views amazing and alll within easy access to Ludlow. The cottage layout is really comfortable. The cottage had not been used for the 2 weeks prior to our stay and due to it being winter the first 2 days were very cold in the cottage. There is no access to the thermostat so guests have to communicate with the owners, if they want the heating routine changed, we were advised 24hours notice. This did not suit us as we like to do our own thing and did not have a strict itinerary. We did not realise that it was connected to the main house through an internal door. We could hear occasional chatting and moving which was a bit off putting for us and the dog. Overall a great stay.
-
"We had a wonderful time, thank you"
-
"The Coach House was a splendid place to spend a week in wonderful countryside."
The owners are extremely friendly and polite with a charming dog. We would definitely like to return
-
"Great that the cottage was so clean and fresh on arrival."
-
"Extremely comfortable and pretty cottage for a relaxing week in the Ludlow area."
Ideal for dog owners with an enclosed garden and good walks on the doorstep. Enormous log burner in the cosy living area and very comfy beds too. I was on my own for much of the week and felt very comfortable there with just the dog for company. It is peaceful during the day and very quiet at night but the friendly owners (and their dog) are just next door so you don’t feel isolated. As mentioned in the listing, there is no stand up shower and a few low beams upstairs so you need to be fairly agile but it is worth it for the lovely character of the cottage. Amazing panoramic views from the Shropshire Way just yards down the road and some wonderful walks in nearby Mortimer Forest and around the Long Mynd.
-
"Very nice cottage, owners very nice couple."
Lots of walks in the area, Ludlow really pretty.
-
"Lovely place to stay."
Great position for views and dog walking, interesting small towns/villages to explore. Enjoyed the peace and quiet.
-
"Stunning coach house cottage full of rustic charm & character in a peaceful area with beautiful surroundings."
Very clean with all the home from home utensils & appliances making this a comfortable stay. The bath is quite small with a hand held shower so if you are tall, it can be a bit uncomfortable. There is no way around this though with the cottage layout & beams. A cosy wood burner for the cooler evenings creeping in. The owners were a lovely, welcoming family with a small friendly dog that played with our dog. They had lots of tips about the local area also leaving a folder full of information & maps to look through & use if needed. So much to do on your doorstep with local walks & a short drive into the market Town of Ludlow. Would highly recommend & no hesitation staying again if we were in the area. The only thing I would say is the central heating system is controlled by the owners living next door & even though the wood burner was welcoming, the heating only came on for a short time twice a day. There were a couple of times we would of liked it on a little longer as it's getting colder now we're in October. I'm sure if we asked them to put it on again then they would of but it would of been nice to have that option.
-
"A lovely cottage in a beautiful remote area, felt at home as soon as I entered."
Will be returning.
-
"This cottage is an absolute gem, myself and 2 children aged 17 and 4 went there and it exceeded all our expectations."
Inside it’s lovely rustic beams and charm make it so cosy and every room has just what you need. The views and location are perfect for visiting and exploring the hills of Shrophsire and there are walls out the front door. It was clean and the owner went above and beyond to make it a very special holiday , highly recommended.

"Lovely comfy cottage, The owners where amazing, Even made home made cake, Lovely ..."
Lovely comfy cottage, The owners where amazing, Even made home made cake, Lovely touch, On hand if needed, but privacy at same time, Would recommend highly, Everything we needed, One of the best breaks we have had, Totally relaxed, Lovely location, Lots to see in area,

"Both being in our 70’s we like to eat out at night with a glass of wine ."
. we do not drink and drive .. the village pub mentioned did not say 30mins downhill on a no pavement windy road and 30mins back uphill.. the garden was pretty but mainly shaded .. hosts very friendly but it’s a place for active people not OAPs .. the views were lovely around the cottage ... and cottage was lovely and if we had been younger ... lovely walks with views to die for ...I would certainly recommend the cottage to family ... we love the area have been a few times .. the food festival was great and the weather fabulous ... don’t go like us thinking we could get a taxi ... no buses and taxis ... very few ... it is a very relaxing cottage ... and if it was not a mobility thing we would definitely return
-
"Delightful, cosy cottage."
Larger than expected and it had everything that was needed to make it home from home. Pretty little garden which our dachshunds loved. Very peaceful and welcoming. Fantastic homemade cake to welcome us.
-
"The owners, Octavia and James went out of their way to make us feel at home in the coach house and even baked a welcome cake !"
We had a love.y comfortable stay. Thank you
-
"It was a delightful cottage, very well equipped, clean and comfortable with a lovely garden to enjoy."
-
"Lovely position, a very comfortable stay."
-
"It was the perfect cottage."
Warm, spotless and spacious. Comfortable beds. Safe parking. Walks on the doorstep and a super hostess/owner.
-
"The only problem that we encountered was with the bath/shower."
This is accurately portrayed in the photograph, but anyone who is very tall/ not so nimble will encounter difficulties with the triangular bath under a low sloping ceiling. It is difficult to shower or bathe properly. The owners' family were lovely - very hospitable. We had an excellent week walking the hills and visiting Ludlow, Stokesay and Ironbridge.
-
"Lovely accommodation, everthing you would expect to find."
Friendly owners who are really accommodating. Great place to stay but not in walking distance to shops, pubs or restaurants. We only went for three days so it didn't bother us. We explored a different place each day so it was nice to get back to The Coach House and chill out. Would go again.
-
"We were made very welcome."
The owners even made a cake for us ,its these little things that make a holiday great
-
"The property listing indicates that a pub is less than 1 mile away and an 11 minute walk."
This is very misleading. The nearest pub is 1.1 miles from the property but more importantly is a 25 minute walk away and there are elevation changes on the route so the walk is a good deal less than leisurely. The claimed proximity of a pub was an essential factor in the selection and booking of this property.
-
"Arrived to a very friendly welcome and homemade coffee cake waiting for us in the kitchen!"
Gorgeous cottage and perfect for dogs as the garden is enclosed and a great sun trap The owners were so friendly and welcoming and gave us tips on where to go and what to do in the area. Perfect spot for anyone taking their dog as there are plenty of walks and dog friendly places to eat and drink. We will definitely stay here again in the future when we visit Ludlow. With its own log burner and cosy cottage feel, it would be perfect for a winter getaway. The only downside about this long weekend break was that it wasn’t long enough and we wished we could have stayed longer!
-
"We enjoyed our holiday based in Knowbury at The Coach House."
Most of the cottage was very comfortable and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. However any tall person, particularly those who prefer a shower to a bath and particularly men, should read the small print carefully and note that the bathroom is not really convenient for them.
-
"Fab cottage with everything you could ask for."
..great location...we arrived to fresh flowers and a home cooked banana cake which gave us an immediate clue as to the hospitality and care shown by our hosts Octavia and Jeremy.
-
"One picture made it look like 2 sofas in living room which we prefer but only 1."
Not sure if furniture has been changed or Way picture was taken No welcome pack privided( first time ever in holiday we have booked with you) Description says shower over bath which is true but doesn’t state that you can’t stand up in bath to use shower. You have to sit in the bath (which wasn’t a full size bath). Had we taken my elderly parents with us they would not have been able to have a shower for 7 days. Only 3 teaspoons provided in kitchen No baking trays provided for cooking and no other dishes suitable for oven (this was a self catering property and as such these are basics). Dishwasher provided but only 4 dishwasher tablets for 4 days. Washing machine provided but no washing powder/liquid, etc. In all your other properties we have stayed if equipment like this is provided so are the items needed to use them. If coach house owners not providing these things it should’ve put in description then things can be brought from home rather than having to go out and buy them Towels in bathroom very small and very rough/hard. Have been used/washed so many times no writing left on labels. Need replacing. Hand towels, bath towels and bath mat all different colours - felt like they were just things owners had finished with themselves rather than something for guests. Definitely not the same standard as other 4 tick/star properties we have booked through you (we only use your company for holidays in this country and found this property was inferior to all the others we hVe stayed in with the same rating). Lots of little things missing which overall spoilt the whole experience
-
"The hosts were great, showing me the cottage and the garden, their dog Juno got on great with Bramble."
It was a holiday that I would like to return to in the future.
-
"We have just had a very relaxing week at the Coach House ,the owners Octavia and James made us very welcome ,the coach house is a very quaint old property extremely comfortable well equipped one of the best we have stayed in,it is situated in a perfect spot for visiting other places of interest in the area,we will certainly be going back very soon."
-
"Generous light cottage downstairs with huge log fire."
However, you would need to be fairly agile to negotiate the shower over the bath due to sloping ceiling. Timbered beams in bedrooms meant a certain amount of ducking.
-
"The location of the house is perfect for the likes of us i."
E. dog-owners who enjoy country walking , visiting National Trust properties and pleasant small towns. We were spoilt by the incredible Indian Summer weather - blue skies and sunshine and warm temperatures for the whole week in October - which made the activities easy and especially enjoyable, but I'm sure it would have been equally good in normal autumn conditions !
-
"The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped."
The location and area was exactly what we wanted. The owner could not have been more helpful and was friendly and very approachable. Would definitely recommend the cottage and we will stay here again
-
"Very professionally handled and administered."
no fuss... no worry. I would definitely use Sykes again.
