  • "This is delightful property located near to Clee Hill and with stunnig views across south Shropshire and Herefordshire."

The property is very clean, well maintained and equipped with a cozy fire should you need it. Plenty of walks from the property and for foodies, Ludlow is down the road a few minutes away. the area aroudnthe property is also amazing, quiet country lanes, local pubs and gardens to visit alongside Iron Bridge and the Severn Valley railway not too far away. It's an ideal place to visit the lovely countryside and although the weather was poor, there is still plenty to see and do. No doubt we wil be back, hopefully in better weather!

We stayed in beginning of August and really enjoyed the clean, well organised accommodation. We didn’t need the fire, but could see it as a real asset for a cosy autumn stay! Hosts were lovely: friendly, thoughtful and enabled us to feel we had the place to ourselves. Some stunning views from close by. Thank you!

  • "The cottage was comfortable and well equipped and in a pleasant location."

The parking arrangements were good in the forecourt of the owners house. The bell on the church opposite was noticeable in the quiet but was not disturbing. Our main concerns were the very low ceilings in the bathroom where the bath and hand shower were tucked under the eaves and likewise the toilet. Access is difficult for people who are less The other issue was the listing as having a pub within a mile. The pub was a long way down country lanes which are unlit and have no footpath. I am sceptical that it is within one mile. This is critical when this is a filter choice and a reason for considering the cottage,. We noticed that the information in the cottage said that the pub was about 30 mins walk while the website information at the time of booking said 15-20 mins walk.

  • "Lovely cottage, lovely hosts on site."

Bathroom was not really usable, designed for smaller people but as we had a plumber with us he said it could have been configured much better. Needs more crockery as not enough to fill dishwasher so had to keep washing up by hand as mugs etc needed. Definitely need more teaspoons. Cottage situated in lovely position, scenery wonderful but you do need a car. We were hoping to use bus passes but too far to walk to bus stop, this needs adding to site. Very comfortable beds and sofas and we did have a good holiday.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We very much enjoyed meeting you and your friends on our many chats with you to answer your questions and offering tips on local activities and restaurants. I’m sorry that you feel 12 mugs, and 12 of each cutlery item was not enough. If you had let us know we would have happily remedied this. The bathroom is indeed small, and the beams do limit head height as clearly stated on the website and in the photograph. As a listed building we are limited what we can change. The coach house is on a small, quiet rural lane on the edge of a village. There is no pavements, street lights or buses. One of the reasons and so many guests enjoy the peace here. The nearest bus stop is a 10-15 minute walk. I do apologise if you expected to be able to travel by bus, but as in many rural areas, I’m afraid a car is necessary and we have now amended this on our details. Property Owner

    - A friendly welcome from the cottage owners. - Comfortable, clean, well equipt and characterful cottage. - Idyllic, quite, private and secluded, but close to all towns and amenities. - Off road parking with ease of access for one car or more. - Private sunny garden. - Location and wonderful views. This our definition of what a cottage holiday means to us. We have found a 'Hidden Gem', a 'Home from Home'. Having stayed in all seasons on a number of occasions this cottage is warm in the cooler months and cool in the warmer months but always a warm welcome. A wonderful place to relax and just unwind.......we will return. Chris, Liz and Jenny our dog.

Thank you so much for your very kind review. It is always such a pleasure to welcome back returning guests, particularly ones we have got to know so well over the years. I do hope Jenny the spaniel is on the mend after her illness. Property Owner

  • "Very picturesque and quiet location near to local amenities and places of interest."

Found beds to be relatively comfortable. Let down by dust, cobwebs and dead insects on floor and ceiling. Areas could do with repainting as several chipped surfaces etc. Washing and showering nearly impossible, as bath situated under slope of the roof with low angled ceiling. Therefore cannot stand up straight. Kitchen utensils were lacking e.g. washing up bowl, scissors, bottle opener and proper handled saucepans. Cannot open one of the cupboards as too near to the cooker door. Chairs at table uncomfortable as wood digs into your legs when sitting.

Thank you for your feedback. We will look into replacing the dining room chairs - thank you for drawing it to our attention. We repaint the coach house every January. I do apologise if some scuffing has occurred since then. I do the changeover myself so was very surprised to hear about dust and dead insects. I believe I was still cleaning when you turned up an hour and a half early for check in, and wanted access straight away. The bathroom is indeed small as shown in the photographs. We do have plans for a reconfigure in the new year, but with the limited headspace it is definitely a sit down bath as mentioned on the website. We have replaced the bottle opener, thank you for drawing that to our attention, but the other items were there when I checked on your leaving, so a little confused! We are right next door if you couldn’t locate items and happy to help! Property Owner

Nicely furnished, in a nice quiet spot. It is about 6 miles in a car to Ludlow. There is a Sainsbury down the hill by the A49 junction (about 4 miles). A further 2 miles is Ludlow Food centre. If you have mobility issues, the cottage may not be for you because of low beams upstairs; over the bath as well as in bedrooms. Out and about we liked Stokesay Castle best. Magical countryside.

The bathroom is quirky but well set out. Views amazing and alll within easy access to Ludlow. The cottage layout is really comfortable. The cottage had not been used for the 2 weeks prior to our stay and due to it being winter the first 2 days were very cold in the cottage. There is no access to the thermostat so guests have to communicate with the owners, if they want the heating routine changed, we were advised 24hours notice. This did not suit us as we like to do our own thing and did not have a strict itinerary. We did not realise that it was connected to the main house through an internal door. We could hear occasional chatting and moving which was a bit off putting for us and the dog. Overall a great stay.

Ideal for dog owners with an enclosed garden and good walks on the doorstep. Enormous log burner in the cosy living area and very comfy beds too. I was on my own for much of the week and felt very comfortable there with just the dog for company. It is peaceful during the day and very quiet at night but the friendly owners (and their dog) are just next door so you don’t feel isolated. As mentioned in the listing, there is no stand up shower and a few low beams upstairs so you need to be fairly agile but it is worth it for the lovely character of the cottage. Very clean with all the home from home utensils & appliances making this a comfortable stay. The bath is quite small with a hand held shower so if you are tall, it can be a bit uncomfortable. There is no way around this though with the cottage layout & beams. A cosy wood burner for the cooler evenings creeping in. The owners were a lovely, welcoming family with a small friendly dog that played with our dog. They had lots of tips about the local area also leaving a folder full of information & maps to look through & use if needed. So much to do on your doorstep with local walks & a short drive into the market Town of Ludlow. Would highly recommend & no hesitation staying again if we were in the area. The only thing I would say is the central heating system is controlled by the owners living next door & even though the wood burner was welcoming, the heating only came on for a short time twice a day. There were a couple of times we would of liked it on a little longer as it's getting colder now we're in October. I'm sure if we asked them to put it on again then they would of but it would of been nice to have that option.

Not sure if furniture has been changed or Way picture was taken No welcome pack privided( first time ever in holiday we have booked with you) Description says shower over bath which is true but doesn’t state that you can’t stand up in bath to use shower. You have to sit in the bath (which wasn’t a full size bath). Had we taken my elderly parents with us they would not have been able to have a shower for 7 days. Only 3 teaspoons provided in kitchen No baking trays provided for cooking and no other dishes suitable for oven (this was a self catering property and as such these are basics). Dishwasher provided but only 4 dishwasher tablets for 4 days. Washing machine provided but no washing powder/liquid, etc. In all your other properties we have stayed if equipment like this is provided so are the items needed to use them. If coach house owners not providing these things it should’ve put in description then things can be brought from home rather than having to go out and buy them Towels in bathroom very small and very rough/hard. Have been used/washed so many times no writing left on labels. Need replacing. Hand towels, bath towels and bath mat all different colours - felt like they were just things owners had finished with themselves rather than something for guests. Definitely not the same standard as other 4 tick/star properties we have booked through you (we only use your company for holidays in this country and found this property was inferior to all the others we hVe stayed in with the same rating). The property

The Coach House is a beautiful, stone, Grade II listed cottage adjacent to the owner’s home, The Old Vicarage, which was built in 1842.

Set in delightful gardens on the side of Titterstone Clee Hill and surrounded by glorious south Shropshire countryside and stunning views.

The garden is a small garden within the owners garden.

The cottage is situated on a quiet lane on the outskirts of Knowbury Village.

Attractively presented throughout to provide comfortable and characterful accommodation, the cottage is ideal for friends and families looking for a peaceful rural retreat in this lovely part of Shropshire, close to the popular medieval town of Ludlow and the stunning Clee Hills.

Set over two floors, enter through the quaint porch, with useful space for boots and coats, into the spacious accommodation with fully equipped kitchen to your right and sitting and dining areas to your left.

The sitting room is full of character and boasts feature stone walls, exposed timbers and an inglenook fireplace with woodburner, perfect for relaxing round on a chilly evening.

The dining area has French doors overlooking the owner’s walled garden, part of which is for guests use.

Upstairs there is a bathroom and two delightful bedrooms with mellow stone walls and low beams.

Outside to the front, there is a pretty cobbled courtyard garden, a perfect spot for a morning coffee whilst you plan your day’s activities or a relax under the apple tree in the walled garden for an evening drink after exploring the local area.

If you love walking, the Shropshire way and several other footpaths with beautiful views are yards from the Coach House front door and the village pub is a short walk into the village of Knowbury.

Further afield you are spoilt for choice with Brown Clee Hill, Mortimer Forest, the Long Mynd and The Stiperstones.

Ludlow, with its 11th century castle, riverside walks, excellent tea rooms, shops, brewery, racecourse, weekly markets, restaurants and pubs is just four miles away and a visit to the Food Centre on the outskirts of this fascinating town is a must.

The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring any number of pretty villages and market towns in this lovely part of Shropshire.

Take a ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth or visit the Old Priory and wander the ancient streets of Much Wenlock.
