Sunnyside Terrace Cottages

Sunnyside Terrace Cottages are a delightful pairing of semi-detached stone-built cottages, resting in the hamlet of Farley, near Matlock, ideal for families or groups of friends looking for a getaway to Derbyshire. Both properties offer lovely garden spaces, homely interiors, and well-presented bedrooms from which to catch your rest, with one sporting a bar and the other a hot tub. The properties overlook the countryside of Farley and are close to the Laburnum Inn pub. From Farley, head out into the local town of Matlock, where you will find the beautiful Hall Leys Park, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the ornamental gardens, savour a freshly prepared picnic on the vast lawns, or wander around the scenic boating lake. Matlock also boasts an aquarium, museum and many lovely eateries and pubs. With a network of picturesque walking trails leading from your doorstep, you're in an outdoor adventurer’s paradise; spend a peaceful afternoon traversing through the woodland of Ladygrove, or soak in the sights alongside the glistening waters of the River Derwent via the Lovers' Walks. Nearby, is the impressive Pic Tor War Memorial which promises a scenic walk and stunning views across Matlock and beyond from its top. MATLOCK

Matlock Bath 1 mile; Bakewell 8 miles.

The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham – a great place for all the family with its showcaves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst a short drive away is the National Tramway Museum at Crich. To the north are the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Park - not to be missed!
