5 Customer Reviews

  • "Good location for visiting the surrounding area, right on lakeside with large area of grass right outside which is ideal for playing on unless it rains then it quickly becomes waterlogged and flooded Several lightbulbs were either missing or not working throughout the property which indicates a lack of attention to detail."

Everyone commented on how uncomfortable they found the bed The upstairs plumbing is very antiquated, the toilet flushing was very temperamental and one toilet was leaking all over the floor, the shower tray in at least one room did not drain until you flushed the toilet ! Overall the property looked as if it would benefit from a deep clean and re decorating from top to bottom

  • "We absolutely loved our stay."

We ended up in Hartington cottage rather than Hardwick, We were a party of 6 and there was more than enough room to sit together or take time out in the very spacious bedrooms. Very comfy beds.Close enough to many of the Peak Districts beautiful towns and villages. Already planning our next trip!

  • "Hidden charge of £250 for use of hot tub for less than 40 hours was not clear when we booked."

When you book a cottage with a hot tub you don’t expect to pay extra for the hot tub. Cottage needs updating and repairing. Lovely location.

  • "Lovely location and really peaceful, an ideal base for our short family break."

No hot water however on second day and half of the plug sockets didn’t work. The grounds beautifully kept but the cottage a little run down. However the price was very reasonable and overall we had an enjoyable stay!

  • "Booked this for my husbands 40th as a stop over for a few nights for a cycling trip."

The only reason we picked this place over another one was for the hot tub, this wasn’t even plugged in so they never got to use this for the entire stag which is massively disappointing. Some of the furniture needs looking at and fixing as most of the chairs to the dining table were loose and wobbly. Overall it is a lovely cottage we just felt let down that we’d been miss sold what came with the accommodation.
