"What an amazing property, the views are stunning, and the cottage has everything you can need."
Lots of great walks nearby and the local pubs are fantastic. The neighbours were really friendly and even invited us to help ourselves to the fruit off their trees. Would happily stay here again
-
"I booked this place based on me bringing my dog, it’s not the best dog friendly place."
Too many restrictions with neighbours who don’t like dogs.
I am not sure what experience you had. All the neighbours own dogs themselves but do restrict access to land around the chapel where there are livestock. Property Owner

"We wanted somewhere to just chill for our mini break and Bent Chapel cottage did not disappoint."
Situated in a beautiful location, with only the odd car going past it was so peaceful. Great walks right from the doorstep. The cottage was beautifully maintained and very clean. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. We would definately book again and will recommend it to other people. Its a 10/10 from us.

"Stunning property, great location, hope to be back again"

"Lovely property."
Would be nice to have radio in kitchen. Only thing I can think to say!
Good to know you enjoyed your stay. Love your idea. I think the tv can get radio stations! Property Owner

"We absolutely loved Bent Chapel, it had everything we could have needed, very comfortable and cosy with amazing views."
I am so pleased you had a good stay. Property Owner

"We enjoyed our stay at Bent Chapel cottage."
It is very homely and comfortable. The kitchen has a good selection of pots/pans etc so it is easy to cook a family meal. Living room is spacious but feels cosy especially with the fairy lights. Beds are comfortable with good bed linen. Maybe some details of walks from the cottage would be helpful. The only disappointment was that the downstairs toilet was out of action during our stay which isn't ideal when you have teenagers and only one bathroom! We had a lovely relaxing break though and its so nice when your holiday cottage is a home from home.

"Its a Wow! from me!"
A beautifully restored old Chapel/ cottage, in a peaceful rural location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Superbly decorated, very comfortable beds and high quality linen. There are some lovely touch’s and reminders of the building’s original purposes. the Chapel/cottage is well equipped with everything you could possible need including a USB charging plug, which was a bonus as we had forgotten to bring ours! If you’re a walker, then this is the place for you, as there are no end of public footpaths to explore. Local supermarket is a short drive and is well stocked with everything you may require. Note: your booking instructions will mention to use the What3words app to locate the property, I would definitely recommend doing this as the Satnav postcode will unlikely lead you directly to the property. All in all a great stay and would definitely recommend.

"A lovely converted chapel, very quiet with great views, reasonably equipped for a comfortable stay with adequate parking."
Difficult to find as Post Code covers the whole area and does not take you to the Chapel, could be difficult if you go down the wrong lane! Thanks to locals for their assistance.
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry you struggled to find the chapel. In the description we do recommend that people use What Three Words to locate it ( different , view, coherent) as yes the postcode does take you to another farm. Property Owner

"Excellent place to stay."
Very quiet and a lovely location. we didn't want to leave.our dog loved it too.. .

"We had a lovey stay at Bent Chapel."
It is such a peaceful place. Downstairs was perfect and the windows framed the view perfectly. We were concerned about the second bedroom. The bedframe and mattress were very uncomfortable. The mattress was thin meaning you could feel the metal bars beneath the bed. This is a shame as the rest of bent Chapel was lovely. You need to be under 6'2" to stand in the shower, not a problem but maybe could have said in the description. If it was not for the bedroom I would have given this property 5 stars.
As you rightly say the upstairs of the cottage is a height challenge. The mattress is due to be changed soon when we do our annual maintenance so hopefully that will improve. Glad the rest of the stay was good. Property Owner

"It was a lovely property that more than lived up to expectations."
The silence was deafening and a perfect place to unwind in beautiful countryside. Congratulations to the owners for doing such a great job. However I do think that saying there is a wood burner is disappointing when it cannot be used. Happy for first paragraph to be published
I am sorry that the wood burner still appears on the listing. I had it removed from the listing when we were warned by the chimney sweep of fire risk. I’m glad the rest was good though. Property Owner

"Such a nice little property."
So quiet. Ideal place for a getaway

"An excellent cottage of more than adequate size, the fixtures and fittings were excellent."
The only criticism would be that I could not get to grips with the TV however the speed of the internet more than compensated.
-
"Lovely quiet location and very relaxing base to explore the surrounding area."
Very beautiful countryside and lots of places of interest in close driving distance. Bent Chapel has been beautifully and sensitively restored and has a lovely peaceful atmosphere. We will definitely stay here again whenever we are looking for a holiday cottage in the area.
-
"Beautifully done and thoughtfully furnished."
The house is in a lovely setting, with great walks from the front door or an easy drive away. Very nice for a short or medium stay, though not much outdoor space with the house itself. Plenty of public open space very nearby. Highly recommended
-
"The cottage is in a lovely location with plenty of walks straight from the door."
Wirksworth is worth the walk. The cottage is really comfortable and cosy and we throughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely consider a Sykes cottage again.
-
"A really lovely property in a beautiful rural location."
Ideally located to enjoy the Peak District.

"The door code had been changed and we eventually found (without any internet access) an email that did not draw specific attention to it - merely read as "confirmation" and went unnoticed by all of us."
Plus the longed-for wood burner is out of use - for how long? There is no hanging or drawer space in either bedroom. And we had only one t-towel. But the location, the equipment, kitchen, bathroom furnishings etc were all absolutely superb. Also the information available in the cottage was first class. I would recommend and use again but with some reservations.
I am sorry about the key code. I had asked Sykes to correct this previously. I appreciate your positive feedback about the level of equipment and information. We are trying to solve the lack of clothes storage but as you know space due to low eves is limited. Part of being an unusual building ! The log burner flue is a fire risk I am afraid and has been removed from the listing. We are hoping to replace but it is a big project requiring extensive building work. I am sorry you were disappointed. I hope your holiday was a good one over all. Property Owner

"A great family break."
Beautiful views. If I was being picky then a slightly better inventory beforehand, I didn't know if there would be e hairdryer or cafetière. But these are really minor details! I can highly recommend their selection of books!
-
"Excellent accommodation."
All amenities that you could want. Really cosy. Maybe a bit more storage space needed for clothes but I understand that is limited.
-
"One of the best cottages I've visited in the UK."
-
"Great Cottage, very reasonably priced (could easily ask more especially if more than 2 guests), private and pleasantly remote."
Great walks and villages nearby. The post code took me to a nearby farm and I struggled a bit finding it. Not sure if it's my sat nav or the code? I noticed the log burner was not properly sealed and on 2 days I really struggled to get the fire lit and it smoked a lot. My mistake and all was well once I got the hang of it. Maybe a bit clearer instructions? Lastly, some space, even just a rack to hang clothes will help. Still, a really great cottage and very enjoyable stay.
Thankyou for your feedback. I’m really glad you liked the Chapel. I am sorry you had problems with the log burner. It has now been taken out of use on the advice of the chimney sweep. The post code doesn’t take you to the property which is confusing. We have put “What three words “ on the website to accurately pinpoint its location which we hope helps. Property Owner
