"Lovely cottage, quiet, great view, comfy bed all the equipment one would need."
Key turning a bit difficult as draft excluder so close, and in dark outside light didn’t come on( couldn’t find a switch). Heating fine in October so didn’t need to light wood burner . Best stocked grocery cupboard we’ve ever come across.
-
"The nicest location of all the cottages have stayed in the area."
Plenty of room. Very clean. Has everything there you would need. Highly recommend
-
"Lovely cottage in beautiful location."
Had everything we needed and more. Would definitely stay again. Good communication from owner.
-
"Lovely quaint quirky Cottage, very comfortable as far as the furniture goes ie sofas and the beds etc everything you could need was provided as far as amenities were concerned, a nice welcome package of cake snd milk, well maintained and an excellent large garden for our dog to run around."
Peaceful setting and a good base for exploring Derbyshire area. Lots of information provided and leaflets too. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back, owners very approachable and happy to answer any questions/query's you may have. Excellent value for money.
-
"Beautiful cottage with beautiful views, and lovely big garden."
All needed in the cottage with lovely walks around the area.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay."
Lovely cottage hidden away in a quiet corner. Beautiful gardens to relax in with great views. Wayne was really nice and helpful. Neighbours were lovely too. Our dog Colin thoroughly enjoyed himself too. Would definitely use again if we return to the area.

"The cottage had everything that you would have in your own home."
Beds were really comfy. Property was clean and details sent by owner were very helpful. I would definitely stay here again due to it's location.

"Had a great stay at The cottage."
Everything was as described Cottage is clean and cosy, the garden is great with fantastic views over glossop. Kitchen is very well equipped and got everything you will need and more. Nice welcome pack of milk and cake upon arrival. Lounge is cosy and welcoming with log burner, (we didn't use log burner during our stay but everything needed for fire provided). Sofas are very comfy and great to snuggle down and relax on after a full day of walking. Bathroom is great with lovely shower over bath. Main bedroom is very spacious and bed very comfortable. Twin room is snug, but beds are comfy. Only storage in this room are underbed drawers, we didn't find find issue as Main bedroom has large wardrobe that we all used to hang clothes. Wayne was very helpful and gave all information needed regarding key collection, Internet, heating controls etc before our stay. There are lots amazing walks in the immediate and surrounding area of cottage that ourself and our 2 dogs loved. Enjoyed our stay at the cottage so much we've booked again already for next year.

"On arrival it looked truly what we wanted but we were disappointed at the lounge as the furniture was very well worn sofas were extremely uncomfortable as they were so well used burnt holes from the fire on the carpet skirting boards next to fire could of done with a clean."
Kitchen fine stair carpet was bagging and not fitted safely .no bannister on right hand side of stairs left open to an accident. Bathroom bedroom were perfect garden was stunning. We left 2 days early due to a Gardner arriving early in the morning when my husband and myself had just got up n not ready for visitors didn't even knock to ask if it was ok very annoying and extremely embarrassing. So with that and very uncomfortable seating etc we left
I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay due to the sofa not being to your own personal taste in terms of comfort. They are approximately 2 years old from sofology and provide a firmer base that I prefer and are also more robust for the holiday let market. I noticed you took the bedding for the next guests so I’m not sure if you used the sofa as an extra sleeping arrangement, and maybe that was the issue in terms of comfort. With regard to the carpet, as I explain to every guest, it has been accidentally burnt by previous guests. In fact it had been down one week before this first happened, therefore I am left with a choice. Do I pursue each guest who has an accident for the cost io a new carpet or do I cover it with a rug that I regularly replace, I chose the later option. Finally I’m glad you enjoyed the garden but in order for this to happen it does need to have the grass cut. The date and time of this is dependent on the weather, therefore I cannot guarantee when this happens. I have spoken to the gardener and reminded him to knock first and not to assume people will be up at 10:30am. He apologised and hadn’t realised you were in until you came out to him. I have spoken to the cleaner regards the skirting and she has confirmed the black was coal dust from the coal buckets. I have reminded her to check this area in case she had missed it and it wasn’t from the fires you had. In terms of the stair design I’m afraid the cottage is 600 years old and they were constructed with a rail on side and the first few steps are open to one side, as per the pictures on the website. I know your issue was with your granddaughter, but sadly you had booked for 4 adults and even confirmed that via text. I could have provided a gate if I had known. As an aside 4 adults and a child is beyond my occupancy threshold. Apologies again that these issues impacted you on your holiday. Property Owner

"Lovely cottage along a shared drive with four other properties close by."
That said, the orientation of the cottage made you generally feel isolated and alone (just how I like it). Views from the garden across to the moors. The cottage itself had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. Quirky walls and ceilings due to the age of the cottage. There were walks in all directions from the village but the two main roads at either end of the lane that the cottage is on were quite busy. At this time of the year when fields are wet I plan to walk round quiet lanes but I didn’t find any close to the cottage. Did find some lovely walks a short drive away. Great size garden for kids and dogs. Nice walk over the moors a five minute walk from the cottage.
-
"This is a very nice rustic cottage that has been carefully extended and retains its charm."
Due to its age, issues such as stairs and head height can be challenging but that’s what you get with such properties. Cottage was comfortable, especially the double bed, generally very well appointed especially the kitchen, which I find with many rentals can be sadly lacking. The large cooker range facilitated a family gathering more than adequately. The heating system worked well but I struggled a little with understanding the remote control. Cake and milk was welcomed upon arrival but no wine as some reviewers have mentioned
-
"The cottage is exactly as described, it’s really lovely, lots of natural light and feels like the owner makes a lot of effort to make it feel like home from home, there was even lemon cake and organic milk in the fridge upon arrival."
Lots of little extra details make it perfect, treats for the dogs, fuel for the log fire, lots of books and games, good tv choices and the internet connection was great. The kitchen is really well equipped, cafetières for coffee and lots of pans to cook with, the range oven is so good! The garden is lovely with and outside light that is perfect for winter nights, and the local area is lovely too. Only things to point out is the garden is perfect for smaller less adventurous dogs, but ours is seemingly part mountain goat and she managed to escape over the stone wall to the right of the cottage very quickly, she came straight back of course and we had long lines with us, but it’s worth making sure you check this is suitable for your dogs, the owner discussed this with us before arrival and was happy to answer any questions. Finally the master bedroom is one of the comfiest beds I’ve had in a holiday cottage, but the singles in the twin room we found extremely hard and had to double up quilts on them to make them soft enough to sleep on…this is entirely personal preference but just something to note it that’s important to you. All in all a lovely lovely stay, highly recommend it and would rebook in a heartbeat.

"Very nice cottage, nice location, good facilities."
-
"A well equipped cottage on the outskirts of a village."
Good communications by text with the owner, both in advance and while we were there. Pleasant garden for those going in warmer or dryer weathers. The second bedroom is very basic with not even bedside tables, chairs or storage facilities. This might be better as a single room, which would allow room for these facilities. The living room had information abut the local area, reading books etc, but these were all piled haphazardly on the window sill. Perhaps add a bookcase into the room so these can be looked at more easily. A bonus was free access to Amazon prime and netflix channels. Some people might think having a knitting shop in the village is a bonus.

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Cottage."
Very clean and comfortable with all amenities. Plenty of good walks straight from the door and Daisy dog had a good time in the large enclosed back garden. Overall, a great week and hope to return. Many thanks.
-
"Up there with one of the best cottages we have stayed at ,In the perfect position to walk the hills and close to shops , Everything we needed was here including a secure garden for our dog, nice comfee bed with a view of the stars and Manchester in the distance."
would stay again if up this way in the future.

"The cottage had everything we needed."
Gorgeous large enclosed garden which our two dogs enjoyed. The beds were very comfortable which is always pleasing. The cottage is perfectly situated for many places to visit without having to travel far ( Castleton, Bakewell etc ) A most welcome surprise was to find milk and a cake in the fridge yum yum. We didn't do any cooking in the cottage so used the two local pubs mentioned in the arrival book and the food was great and dog friendly too. The cottage could do with a visitors book, did look but couldn't find one. Would like to come back to the cottage and would certainly recommend it
-
"Absolutely brilliant cottage."
Probably the best equipped we have stayed in. They have literally thought of everything you would need plus more. Perfect location for visiting the peaks & dales. Peaceful spot overlooking the moor. We didn’t want to leave. Really helpful neighbour who recommended dog walks & pubs
-
"Such a quaint, clean and comfortably furnished cottage."
Sufficient bed linen and towels. The views were outstanding and well positioned as a base for visiting places of interest. The television was easy to manage and WiFi available. Glossop just 2-3 miles down the road which had all the amenities that were necessary so do not have to take provisions.
-
"This cottages should only sleep 3 not 4 as there are 2single beds crammed into a small bedroom with no where too hang your clothes and only drawers under the bed which are not suitable for elderly people."
My clothes wher hung in the kitchen. Kitchen table was absolutely filthy had to wash it before we could use it. Hoover was blocked until we unblocked it. No fire guard for log burner - so carpet covered in burn marks. Frying pan useless - everything stuck to it. Apart from that the living room and bathroom were good and the kitchen was well equipped. Not worth £600 per week. I was disappointed for my visitors from Australia.
-
"A great cottage with lots of character and in a really nice location."
The garden is spacious with good views over the valley. It's in a good spot for walking in the Peak District or visitng Manchester. The cottage is nicely furnished, clean and well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay.
-
"Great stay nothing missing."
Veiw from garden great .location good . Sofa badly damaged but other than that everything was good .
-
"The cottage is in a good place for visiting surrounding areas whether it be villages or shopping."
The cottage low doorways and a very tricky stair for anyone who is older or has mobility issues. Everything provided was good including the milk and cake left for us. Whilst I did not have a dog with me you can detect the smell of dog from the living area. We had a good break and enjoyed our stay.
-
"Lovely cottage, comfortable, had everything we needed."
Great garden for the dog and lovely neighbours! The wine and chocolate cake was a lovely treat. The owner was friendly and helpful when discussing key collection, really nice to talk to. Great food at the George & Dragon pub down the road. Short drive to local attractions. Great short break! Thank you.
-
"We were very impressed with the Cottage."
It was warm, comfortable and animal friendly. The double bed was very comfortable and the shower was superb. Likewise the cottage was very warm with a log fire if it turned chilly. The garden was large and ideal for our large dog. She did manage to escape one evening but we were more vigilant after that. The only downside is that we had hoped to be able to walk to a nearby pub for a drink and a meal. There are two pubs in walking distance but one was on a busy road and the other one we checked on their website and it said it was open. When we walked there (in the rain) it was closed. We were told by a local that they did very good food but that was no consolation! So you need to phone ahead to be sure places are open. Otherwise the location is very good for visiting Glossop, Buxton and there are many local walks for the hounds. The scenery is amazing. Would definitely recommend but unfortunately the drive up from Southampton was rather long so we will probably not be returning. However a very nice cottage with very helpful neighbours who advise on local walks etc. Thankyou for a very relaxing break.

"Lovely Cottage, excellent support from the owner, great for the dogs, totally felt at home."
Thank you

"We had a fantastic stay at The Cottage."
A beautiful setting looking out across the fields into Glossop. The cottage was very well equipped, cosy, warm and comfortable. The owners had left milk and cake and there were essentials like tea bags and washing up liquid, logs for the fire available which is really nice and makes things so much more convenient. The gardens were enclosed and perfect for our dog. We loved the features in the property. Such comfy bed too! Maps and books about the area helped us to maximise our time in the area and we walked our socks off! The settees in the cottage could do with replacing as they both had tears in them but were comfortable for our needs. We were able to liaise with the host before arrival and during our visit to ask about torches, which were available for us to use as was pretty much anything else we needed as they had thought about visitor needs to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks to Wayne for a fantastic stay. We loved it.
-
"What a wonderful place to stay, the cottage was so cosy, main bedroom was spacious, bathroom was perfect for all."
Water and heating was spot on. Fuel provided for wood burner was a great treat, and milk and cake in the fridge!! The cottage was clean on arrival and welcoming pack provided. Back garden has views of the countryside with also being secluded for pets is a bonus. If your looking for a stay away from the rat race this place is not far from perfect, we enjoyed it immensely, Catarina and Dave from Norfolk

"Problem with boiler / central heating swiftly resolved and did not detract from our enjoyment of the premises."
-
"We felt like we were staying at our home away from home ."
Nice and cozy well equipped cottage conveniently located for short drives into all the scenic Peak District locations. Wayne provided all the necessary information by email and also had left clear instructions in the cottage making our stay pleasant and checking in and out process smooth. Would definitely recommend this place to small families or small groups who would like to visit Peak District.

"Absolutely loved The Cottage."
It had everything you could want/need. The fire was a lovely feature as we don't have one at home. I sat back on the comfy sofa, fire on, glass of wine in hand and admired the view of the valley below. Beds are very comfy. Greay enclosed garden fir the dog. Lovely walks nearby. Hare and grounds in Charlesworth is great. Will rebook in the future. Many thanks Wayne
-
"A lovely comfortable, well equipped cottage in a picturesque location looking down towards Glossop."
It was very clean and had excellent cooking facilities and kitchen utensils. It had the added bonus of superfast broadband and a good mobile signal. It was perfect for our 2 dogs and has a decent sized garden. We really hope to re-visit soon.
-
"Everything was fine and as promised."
The only areas we were not happy with were the staircase which was both narrow, steep and without a safety rail. One elderly member of our party struggled with this. Finally the shower head was not firmly fixed and wouldn’t stay in place. Apart from that a great place in a beautiful setting
-
"Lovely comfortable cottage great location."
Just one little problem the shower wouldn't stay in place.
-
"Very comfortable cottage ."
Well equipped. The garden was very safe for our 2 little dogs. The neighbours were friendly. Thank you for the cake and milk . Glossop is a lovely place. Thank you Wayne for the easy communication.
-

Lovely welcome cake which was very much appreciated.
-
"We had a fantastic week The cottage was lovely and clean very comfortable and well equipped."
It was very quiet a great place to relax with a lovely garden and views of the hills. A great base to explore the area. I would also recommend the Hare and hounds in Marple if you want a fantastic meal.

"Beautiful little break away."
So picturesque. Like a little chocolate box cottage. So well equiped with everything you need. The garden is amazing. Front, side and back. All very secure so you can relax while your doggy is exploring. Wayne, the owner was really helpful and efficient at answering any queries. Milk and a beautiful cake there on our arrival. Lovely gesture.

"Have just enjoyed a lovely holiday in this delightful cottage."
From the moment of entering the front door its cleanliness and general comfort gave a welcoming feeling. The cake was a treat much enjoyed! The garden is ideal for dogs, completely safe and enclosed with the view an added extra. We found plenty to do in the area, lots of walks and places of interest to visit for days out in the National Park. Thanks to Wayne and family for making their cottage such a pleasant venue for holidays. Jill and Rowland Ross + Flecks our spaniel.

"Had a great time."
Perfect for the dog. Would recommend.
-
"We have just spent a lovely week at The Cottage."
Everything was perfect & the location is beautiful. The garden was all enclosed & we were convinced our two golden retrievers were admiring the gorgeous view! Lovely friendly neighbours & Wayne, the owner, was really nice & helpful. We'll definitely be back!

Really friendly owner who was available if we needed anything. Would certainly come back.
-
"Fantastic cottage, Wayne left a pint of milk and a coffee and walnut cake in the fridge a very nice gesture."
The cottage is well stocked with everything you will need for a comfortable stay, I would recommend to family and friends to stay at the cottage as the back garden view was picturesque and in an ideal location to visit the Peak District
-
"Perfect accommodation for us and our two dogs, everything we needed was supplied in the cottage."
We had good weather and there are plenty of dog friendly walks nearby. Will be going again in the future.
-
"Excellent cottage."
Very comfortable bed. Secluded, but well placed for trips into the Peak District for walks in the hills. Lovely garden, which because of the warm weather we were able to make full use of. Highly recommended.
-
"Lovely cottage."
Warm & toasty. The main bedroom is especially nice & the skyline over the bed is a real added bonus. Nice bathroom with a big bath & a reasonable sized garden. The owner of the cottage, Wayne, is really nice & very accommodating. The cake & milk were a very nice welcome so thank you Wayne. The neighbours we spoke to were all very friendly too. We were very fortunate because we booked for 2 weeks pre-lockdown so, as per government guidelines, we were able to complete our stay. Thanks Wayne & Sykes Cottages
-
"The cottage was very clean and covid compliant, the large double bed was really comfy."
It was great to have the wood fire starter pack.....bring a lighter as not always easy to find matches ! Great that there is radiator under the coat rack...we had really wet weather but everything dried quickly. Kitchen well equipped and huge oven range. Easy access to great walks, dogs loved the garden. Friendly jackdaw in the garden most mornings..beginning of October .deffo go sgain

Absolutely loved it , beautiful views, enclosed garden which our dogs loved, perfect base to travel to other areas Cottage had everything we needed Very hilly if walking but Derbyshire is known for its hills Owners (if needed) reply very quickly Local walks are accessible if you don’t want to drive but pavements where narrow
-
"Very comfortable and every thing we expected , would certainly stay again ."
-
"All good, enjoyed the stay at the cottage."
It was exactly as advertised. Would stay there again.
-
"The images of the cottage did not do it justice."
The owner Wayne was extremely helpful and had thought of everything. We wanted for nothing. The cottage was spotless, warm and wonderfully quiet. We had a fantastic short break.
-
"My husband is 6'3 tall so when looking for cottages, although I like traditional places, I try to find ones with headroom so he can stand up straight."
From the pictures available it looked like the cottage had normal ceiling height, he could stand up straight but almost touched the downstairs ceilings but of course the doorframes were very low particularly the main bedroom which was a whole head height lower. I would be grateful if this information was available in the listing just so our time spent in a cottage is not constantly fraught with "watch your head" as it is easy to forget to duck!! The property was very comfortable and with a nice garden if you take a dog. We were provided with fuel for the log burner and the heating was lovely and warm so easily ideal in the winter. The cottage is well furnished with a range cooker and all equipment in the kitchen for meals in if you chose to cook. It is in a lovely area of the high peaks and we were blessed with a bright, sunny day to visit Quarrybank Mill, a National Trust site which was a short drive away. There are also plenty of walks nearby which was ideal. Please feel free to publish the second part of the feedback, the first part relates to Sykes listing.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for The Cottage Glossop, we have changed the listing to include that head height may be restricted, so future customers are well informed when booking. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

"We loved the wood burner - but never did get to fathom out the central heating controls!"
The cottage was very comfortably furnished and well equipped - 8 gas hobs and multiple ovens !
-
"A lovely cosy cottage, clean and comfortable."
Perfect location for exploring the high peaks area. Enclosed garden was a plus with the dog. Welcome cake gratefully received
-
"Lovely cottage in countryside amongst a few other cottages and it was really nice, everything you need is in the cottage and shops and pubs with food are a mile or so away."
Owners are easily contactable should you need them for any reason and I would like to thank them for a lovely break. C.W. South Wales.

"Lovely cottage with beautiful garden and surroundings."
Everything you need is there, including toilet rolls, cleaning products etc. All cooking utensils you may need. Comfortable beds and lovely clean & excellent condition of bedding. Stairs may be a little narrow & steep for those with mobility issues. In a greatvlocTion to have a good explore of the area with plenty of information at hand in the cottage. A lovely touch having milk & a very yummy cake on arrival. Parking can be a little tight when everyone at home.
-
"The cottage was well equipped and had a very cosy feel about it."
Everything was clean and tidy on arrival and the decoration was very good and the furniture stylish and good quality, even down to the artwork on the walls. The gardens were tidy and well kept with a patio from the lounge equipped with a table and benches and another garden area to the front with a table and chairs unfortunately we picked possibly the wettest week of the year so were unable to take advantage of the outside spaces. Despite the weather we had a very enjoyable week touring round all the attractions and found some very nice walks with the dog but it was nice to come back to relax in nice surroundings. Our only gripe was that the fridge was a little small but we managed.
-
"A fantastic Cottage."
It is clean modern and well equipped. The garden is lovely with great views and so peaceful. The location is brilliant to the Peak District, which has so many great places to visit. Will definitely be returning.
-
"Very friendly welcome."
Nice cake and some milk put in the fridge which was appreciated. All instructions for directions, keys etc. we’re spot on. Great location for exploring the area. Nice quiet location
-
"Excellent cottage with lovely views."
Very well equipped and comfortable. Friendly and helpful owner. Could not wish for any better. Would definitely use cottage again in the future.
-
"The cottage was home from home !"
The facilities were excellent and we could not believe all the extras that were there for us to use. Even fire lighters, kindling and logs for the log burner in the lounge. Great value for money' Thank you for a lovely holiday break.
-
"Brilliant cottage for a family it has a very homely feel."
It needs better pictures of the inside as it doesn't do it justice on the ad.would definitely stay again it was a shame to leave.

The place was very easy to find thanks to the owners instructions, it's in the middle of nowhere, it is amongst a few other dwellings but you don't feel like you're intruding, they have a DVD player with DVD's kitchen is great, bathroom & bedroom is great, I can highly recommend
-
"The Cottage is in a perfect position with beautiful views, very cosy cottage with everything you need ."
Lots of places to visit nearby and stunning walks.
-
"Comfortable cottage with everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage ."
Large enclosed garden for our dog to enjoy with no escape routes ! Lovely view looking over the valley . Plenty of places to visit in surrounding towns and villages. Sponge cake and milk on arrival very much appreciated thank you . I would definitely stay again and recommend this cottage to family and friends .
-
"An absolutely perfect cottage."
There is not a negative thing that I can say about this cottage, in fact would go so far to say the best and most well equipped accommodation that we have ever stayed in!! The kitchen was fantastically well stocked with all the utensils and odds and ends that you could want for. The living room has both a DVD player and chromecast (as well as DVDs and boardgames). The rooms were all very clean and was a great home from home. Also loads of tourist leaflets in the property as well as walking trail routes/maps. The location of the cottage is perfect too (the view from the garden is awesome), Glossop and all its shops are only 5 mins away, and to get on the peaks for walking will take you about 3 minutes. The cottage is also only 5 minutes away from the Trans Penine Trail and a short drive from the Longdendale Trail. The cottage is in a cluster of 3 other properties, no problems with parking and the neighbours that we met were very friendly. The back garden is dog escape proof, but our pooch did find a way out the front one - not a problem though as only used the back :) Worth saying that the wifi was actually very good, sometimes with 4 of us on at once, no slowness seen. The overall location is great too in relation to places like Chatsworth, Lyme Park, Buxton, Matlock etc etc Can not recommend this cottage enough...we will certainly come here again :)
-
"Booked as working locally and was perfect for my needs."
Quiet location. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable living room and comfortable bed (with skylight above bed). Easy booking process. Would definitely book again.
-
"I booked this cottage because it was dog friendly with an enclosed garden."
But we had to keep our dog indoors as the garden had numerous places where he could get out. There was only enough parking space for 1 car . The cottage was comfortable with 2 good sized bedrooms comfortable sitting room and well equipt kitchen.
-
"An immaculate cottage with all that we needed for an excellent holiday."
Really clean, warm and very comfortable. The log burner was a lovely welcome after a wet and windy day of walking.
-
"Cottage is great, very comfortable and my son loved the garden."
The cottage is not as isolated as I had hoped I was under the impression it was on its own but there are about 4 neighbours all fairly close just not attached. The view out the back door is fab but the front is the neighbours houses.
-
"Excellent cottage - great location for exploring the Peak District and the surrounding area."
The owner was very helpful and supplied plenty of local information prior to our arrival. The nearby George & Dragon pub was extremely accommodating for food with excellent bar staff. Our only regret was being unable to stay longer this time.
-
"The Cottage was really cosy, with tons of hot water, warmth and comfy beds, just what you want after a November day's walking."
Great location for Peaks walks. There aren't any good pubs in walking distance, but plenty of good places to eat in Glossop or Stockport. Wet day? Recommend Bramall Hall in Stockport, open all year.
-
"Excellent location and very pleasant stay."
-
"Lovely cottage with a very homely feel the kids 3 and 9 absolutely loved it, I cooked every night so the big oven was perfect, beautiful views down the valley and a big comfy bed."
-
"A well equipped cottage in an ideal location for exploring the High Peaks"
-
"The Cottage is a very cosy place to stay in grim weather - a nice woodfire in the sitting room, powerful central heating, lovely new bathroom, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen."
Outside stunning scenery literally on the doorstep, but still only a few minutes drive away from the next town and shops. The only downside: the second bedroom is very small and would probably not be ideal for fighting teenagers, but if your kids are cool, it's fine. :-)
-
"Cottage is in a brilliant position, with fantastic views."
It's really comfortable - and the garden spaces are superb. Great for a holiday with our dog! Wayne the owner couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

About the location
GLOSSOP
Buxton 14 miles.
The bustling, former mill town of Glossop sits in the north west of Derbyshire, surrounded by magnificent scenery in the Peak District. The town has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a golf course with a pay-per-play scheme. Nearby, Manor Park was once the grounds of Glossop Hall, which belonged to the Dukes of Norfolk. Today it provides a wonderful spot for a picnic in the summer, with bowling greens, a semi-natural woodland, a children’s play area and tennis courts. The town of Glossop is also ideally situated for exploring the nearby Peak District National Park, with many attractions for walkers, cyclists and tourists. These include the peaceful village of Hayfield, less than five miles away and popular with walkers due its close proximity to Kinder Scout. A little further afield, Edale is the start of the Pennine Way and also caters well for tourists with its own collection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. As well as its magnificent scenery, the Peak District has many other attractive places to visit, including Chatsworth House, the spa town of Buxton and its majestic gardens and architecture. Visit the famous Blue John show caves at Castleton, the mining museum at Matlock and the Derwent Valley reservoirs, where The Dambusters practised low-level flying in World War II. 15 miles away, only half an hour by train, is Manchester with all its big city amenities and attractions. Here, you will find the United and City football stadiums, an abundance of high street and boutique shops, theatres, restaurants, a concert hall and a vibrant night life. With so much to see, do and visit in the surrounding area, you are sure of a fun-filled holiday!
