• "We've stayed in our fair share of holiday cottages and this was definitely one of the best."

  It was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped. It was very easy to navigate the area. As soon as you are out of the village you are on to an A road and there are plenty of B roads to get you where you are going. No need for single track country lanes. Having said that I couldn't get over how quiet the roads were. It was a very pleasant area to explore and a beautiful cottage to come back to. We'd definitely stay here again if we're ever back in the area.

• "We stayed 4 nights in Swallows Cottage."

  We have stayed in many cottages in Shropshire over the last 40 years and Swallows is probably the best. It's a 'home from home'. The decor is fresh, modern and uncluttered. Lovely and clean everywhere. The beds are very comfortable. It's good to have a lovely big shower cubicle. There is a convenient WC and washbasin upstairs - no trying to find your way downstairs during the night! The hosts have placed sensor activated plug-in nightlights in the hall and upstairs landing which proved very useful. I always take my own, but didn't have to use them this time. The property was easy to find and the area is so quiet and peaceful (you could hear a pin drop), and is conveniently placed for the shops and eateries in Much Wenlock or on the outskirts of Shrewsbury. We will definitely be returning and I can foresee Swallows Cottage being our go-to destination when we visit relatives in the area again in future.

• "We loved staying in Swallows Cottage in Harley and enjoyed a very special week there."

  It is a beautiful, extremely stylish and well equipped cottage, in a lovely quiet village setting. It was really nice to meet the owners of the cottage who live next door. They were so welcoming and helpful. This was our first visit to Shropshire and this cottage provides easy access to many parts of the county. We managed to travel on public transport to Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Bridgnorth. We also drove to Iron Bridge and the David Austin Rose Garden Centre at Albrighton. We will be highly recommending this cottage to all our family and friends.

• "Superb holiday in the Shropshire countryside in a superb cottage."

  Very comfortable and tasteful and equipped with everything you need. The owners were very friendly and helpful too and went out their way to accommodate us. The location was great too - set in the peaceful relaxing little village of Harley near to Much Wenlock, Ironbridge and Ludlow which were all wonderful to visit. Canoeing on the River Severn was definitely a highlight.

  Very well thought-through, with tasteful and beautiful decor throughout. In a peaceful rural location. Owners are friendly and helpful, but not at all intrusive: they live just across the courtyard. We've rented lots of holiday cottages from Sykes and this is up at the top, with the very best of them.

  We were blessed with a sunny week to thoroughly enjoy walks, visits to the local countryside and towns - and of course Ironbridge a few minutes away. It is difficult to really express our excellent week in South Shropshire.

  The location is so pretty and the host very friendly and welcoming. So much to see and do in the surrounding area we didn't know where to start. The Blist Hill Victorian town is a must - we went twice - so interesting and good value. A visit to pretty Ludlow for the market with so many listed buildings is also recommended and the small town of Bewdley is delightful. There are plenty of good local pubs and restaurants if you don't want to cook every evening. We would recommend Swallows without hesitation and really hope to do a return stay at some point. A week is not long enough. Loved it.

  We had some brilliant days out walking including iron Bridge, church Stretton,Bridge North and the Wrekin. Good area with plenty to do. Hosts were on hand, very helpful but not intrusive. Cottage very well equipped, clean and tidy, very comfortable. Would recommend to friends and family.

  The king size bed was comfortable. The owners were very nice and helpful. There are lots of National Trust and English Heritage places to visit nearby as well as the Severn Valley Railway. You do have to be careful in bedroom to not bang your head on the beams.

Nearby Much Wenlock is a little gem of a place with great pubs and shops with plenty to do and see in the beautiful surrounding Shropshire countryside. Go back there again? You bet we would.
