  • "If the owner had not left the rental door unlocked, we would have had to stay elsewhere that night."

Beginning 2 days prior to the time, I asked for the door code. We arrived very late and I emaed saying as much, far in advance. So when I never got it, I called Sykes but they were closed. There should be an emergency 24/7 number. We saw the owner the next day and he knew nothing about my several attempts of communication. And tho I booked it through a 3rd party (Expedia) they were unable to help, all they had were the listing # of Sykes as well. The holiday was wonderful and the mishap was not at all the fault of the owners, but il had the owner not left the door unlocked for us, it would have been a very different first night.

Hi there, Thank you for the feedback on your stay. I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay, but you obviously didn't need the stress of not having the key code before arrival. I have picked this up with Sykes as it is not acceptable. Sykes issue the keycode on booking. I always send an email to all bookings (usually same day as you book) with loads of information about the barn, how to find us, things to do, keycode and three emergency contact numbers. I have a record of the one I sent to you on 19th Aug. You obviously hadn't received it, I guess because it was not your personal email address. Hopefully Sykes will assure me that this can't happen again. Thank you for the great feedback, and hopefully see you again. Property Owner
