  • "The house was absolutely ideal for us, a family of four with older teenage children."

Clean, fresh, light & bright. The kitchen was ample & well equipped to easily prepare anything from a spag bol to a full roast dinner. The sitting /dining room was lovely & compact which suited us for playing boardgames & cards or just watching tv after a day out. The beds were lovely & comfy & there was plenty of storage. The house itself is ideally situated in the heart of the village with a fabulous 5.5 mile circular walk practically from the doorstep. There is also a plethora of fabulous places to visit no more than 30 minutes drive away. It was lovely to sit in the garden of an evening listening to the church bells. A real home from home & Ian, the host, is lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. Would definitely recommend!

Thank-you so much for your lovely review! we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our little house and happy that you fully enjoyed what the area has to offer. we look forward to hosting you again. Property Owner

We loved our 7 day stay here, very clean on arrival and well equipped with everything you could possibly need of good quality. Keysafe entry. On street parking which was never a problem for the whole week, space always available outside or almost outside the property. Comfy beds and seating. Good size fridge and 4 drawer freezer. Well maintained inside and out. Fantastic information provided by Ian the owner prior to arrival and communication excellent. The village is small, quiet and extremely friendly, the property is within about 150 yards of a post office incorporating a lovely cafe with excellent food, next door to that is a traditional butchers which is also a well stocked general store, as well as 2 great pubs that serve food lunchtime and evening. Lots of lovely walks direct from the property. Would not hesitate to recommend and would definitely stay again. Thank you Ian.

  • "Cottage was in a good location, Matlock was an easy drive."

A comfortable stay for a family of 4, kids were happy. The owner kindly fitted a stair gate for us a couple of days prior to a stay which was necessary and very much needed. Only negative was there was no salt, pepper or sugar in the property, would have been handy to have that as we dont normally bring these with us. Enjoyed our time at the cottage, enjoyed the smart TV.

  • "Sykes were annoying due to the repeated email messages which frankly were a waste of my time."

I simply wished to book accommodation and having done so required instructions relating to the property, I did not want repeated emails reminding me and numerous emails telling me about what else could be booked this autumn and into next year.

Feedback on Sykes service should be directed to them and i am sorry you were unhappy with the number of emails they send. This space is intended for feedback on our property, on which you have not commented. Property Owner

  • "Tuliptree is in a great location - on a quiet cul-de-sac in a lovely peaceful village."

The enclosed garden is small but relaxing and we enjoyed watching and listening to the birds and squirrels. The cottage itself had everything we needed. We wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend it. A couple of small things would help others - the working of the keysafe was fiddly although the owner explained it very clearly when we rang him. And the patio door makes an irritating noise when it is opened. Neither are big issues though. I would also have liked a dressing table or at least a chair in the main bedroom but this is personal choice and an issue in the majority of holiday cottages we have stayed in. There are 3 pleasant pubs in the village which are within very easy walking distance and all serve food. And the farm shop is a little gem.
