"The property was generally "tired" and in need of a complete refurbishment."
1. Holes in kitchen wall. Hob lacking control markings and therefore difficult/dangerous to use. 2. Lack of current information about bin collection. 3. Rotten floor under carpet beside bed in large front bedroom. 4. Door catches missing or faulty 5. No blinds on bathroom windows. Leaky shower in main bathroom 6. No hairdryer provided 7. A handrail would make the stairs safer 8. First night plagued by hornets from nest in eaves. This was dealt with promptly on notifying owner. 9. Location excellent for our purposes but will think twice about returning to this property.

"Hello - Thanks for providing the accommodation, it was exactly what we needed."
Very spacious. Could do with some markings on the electric hob as we found it difficult to know what ring related to which knob and whether it was set high or low.

"Ideal base for a long weekend in the area whilst competing in the JK 2024 orienteering events."
perfectly suitable for our needs. Thank you.

"The owner really did share their home with us."
We felt welcome and could feel a lot of love has been through those walls. The residents of the area were friendly and welcoming also. Shops with friendly staff near by and good eateries. The views from the bedroom across Cannock Chase were serene and beautiful. Whilst having a lived in feel the house was so homely, with all appliances to make a stay pleasurable, and a lovely healing feel. Left feeling relaxed and happy. A very special place. Thank you to the owners for sharing such a beautiful place with us.

"Property was lovely and homely however few pointers."
The front door doesn't have a handle and is very very stiff to the point it could not be opened from inside and had to climb out the window a few times to open the door. Oven kept burning all the food no matter what setting it was on the bottom of the food was always burnt. The 1 TV that was provided did not work at all. Bin in bathroom had not been emptied upon arrival. Was also lots of dust around the borders of the rooms as if they hadn't been hoovered properly for a while.
hello Kerry, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you encountered some problems. What I cannot understand is that if you had advised us, we could have had any problems sorted out. The TV does work, as no one else has contacted us regarding it, or the other problems you encountered, and you booked an additional week. We personally clean the property, as it is our actual home, but we live away with our work. kind regards Property Owner

"Off Puddle Hill is a spacious house in a very pleasant and quiet residential area."
There is easy parking and good Wifi. Good hot water supply and well equipped kitchen. Basic welcome pack provided. We have to agree with the comments of other recent guests that the property is in need of some attention. We were unable to get the lounge fire to work at all and the central heating controls were a mystery to us - it was on for an hour at 4 pm then from 12 midnight until 2 am! The heating pipes were very noisy and woke us up. The floor boards creak and the doors are squeaky, you can not walk anywhere upstairs quietly. Some lights don't work, the wallpaper is peeling in places and the garden needs a good tidy. The TV remote is held together with sellotape. One bedroom window looked very frail and we didn't dare open it. The guest information and the tourist info leaflets are years out of date. These issues didn't hugely affect our stay but this could be a really lovely place if the decor and furnishings were updated and the maintenance issues addressed.

"Not up to Sykes standard I'm afraid, Fridge had mildew food in it, baking tray in Oven was rusty, there was no light buld in front bedroom, remote control was sellotape together and didn't work had to turn TV on manually, there was creaking floor boards and doors every where, it could be a nice place with a bit of attention and care."

"It’s fair to say that this was a 3star property."
A pleasant enough stay for the price, but it needs a good clean and some decorating/upgrading to increase overall satisfaction.

"We rented this home for the weekend so that we could go to the theme parks including Drayton Manor and Alton towers, the location is central to both and in a nice quiet cul-de-sac."
there was plenty parking and very easy to find. The accommodation was good with all the facilities as though it was home from home. we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for accommodation near Alton Towers.

"We have already shared with the owner."
We are used to three bathrooms and for 7, two bathrooms was limited but we made it work. Dining table for 7 maybe 8 top sit down for breakfast and dinner. Lovely views from bedrooms: nearby Chinese takeaway a dream; convenient for facilities in Stafford, Stone and Stoke including supermarkets if you are self catering? In winter time, misty/ cloudy mornings and there are walks nearby but we didnt try them. Quiet neighbourhood with Chartley Castle a walk away but fence climbing a little hard work.

"Nice house, good base for the area."
Only thing that let it down was the garden which was very over grown and didn’t have the view of the field/horses it advertised. The picture shows a 4ft hedge to look over but it has grown to over 8ft in brambles, and garden grass not cut etc. Not a real problem, just disappointing. The rest was all as advertised and the owner very nice & friendly, even left us tea, coffee & bread for when we arrived.

"Lovely quiet place, had a lovely relaxing holiday"

"This house was a great location for our needs."
A very comfortable stay with lovely views to the back.It is a bit dated and doors upstairs could be replaced and one of the back upstairs windows opens and closes with great difficulty.Kitchen had everything we needed.

"The house was generously decorated for Christmas, including a set of Christmas dvds, box of chocolates and a bottle of wine."
It was a pleasure to arrive and find tea and milk. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, including, to our surprise, a hostess trolley which proved very useful on Christmas Day. We appreciated the large store of mugs, plates and bowls which meant we were not forever washing up. The garden was lovely. I especially liked the wild patch at the end out of which a variety of birds appeared.

"Really good place for few days, suited our needs perfectly."
Shame weather wasn’t so great as garden looked amazing and well kitted out
-
"We've been to this house before and had left a note regarding a leak and were pleased that it had been fixed."
The rest of the accommodation was as lovely as we had experienced previously and made our stay to visit family nearly effortless. The neighborhood remains lovely as well. It couldn't have gone better!

"Great house, location and facilities but very disappointed that we were woken everymonring at 7:10 by the building work going on next door, we are unable to sit out in the garden due to the noice and all th dust from the drilling."
