  • "This was our second time staying at the barn and it was just like before, lovely field for our Springer to run around in."

The barn was cosy and comfortable, the owners down to earth and friendly, on Sunday there was a huge car boot sale within walking distance and beyond that a nice garden center with a good cafe.

  • "The property is lovely and I enjoyed my time there - so did my 2 little dogs!"

The bed I chose was very comfy and I mostly slept well. I hadn’t realised that the road was so close, nor that it was going to be so busy especially all through the night. However there is not much to be done about that! The property could do with a little TLC, but the owner was not expecting to be ill either! I hope they’re soon well again and the property thrives. I would definitely come back for another visit.

The shop is a little gem too! The washing machine would benefit from a deep clean and a updated vacuum would be great so we could clean as we go! (Apologies, I do like to clean as I go) We had a much needed rest and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the barn, exceptionally relaxing and would highly recommend these lovely people's holiday place.

10pm to find people in the cottage. we thought it had been double booked. Turned out they were the cleaners. We had been driving for 3 hours. So we had a stroll in the adjacent field till they had finished. This is our second visit here. The place is clean and warm. Comfy bed an plenty of hot water. We had a Sunday Roast dinner and the beef was very nice. They deliver so you can eat in the cottage. They dropped my Yorkshire pudding but she did try to get a replacement to be told it was the last one! They had another hour to serve meals so they are probably warmed up as the mashed potatoes were barely warm. So I suggest eating early. We had booked ours for 4pm All in all we enjoyed our stay and they are friendly owners and staff.

The cottage is very comfortable ( especially the bed!!). Kaths cafe is next door and serves a great breakfast and we also had a fabulous Sunday lunch. If you have dogs you cannot take them in the cafe but your meal can be brought to the cottage to enjoy. You can't get better than that! I do suggest you are make sure you are hungry as the portions are huge! The only downside for some people is that the Internet seems to be down alot. This is possibly due to the very rural location. Not a problem for us as it was good to be away from the rat race for a while. We are already looking at re- booking for next year.

A lovely gesture was the cakes, milk and dog treats which had been left for us, so we were able to make a nice cup of tea straight away. The field adjacent to the cottage was available to exercise our dog, and he thoroughly enjoyed himself running free. The cottage is well equipped and even has sky tv. Couldn’t fault the cleanliness. The owners were available if we needed them but very unobtrusive. The rooms are all good sizes, and when our relatives joined us for the weekend along with their dog, we all had plenty of room. Quiet location but overlooked by farm shop and cafe which are only a few yards away. Property was mainly clean but on arrival we removed several completely overpowering air fresheners; then realised they had been masking a strong smell of dog throughout the ground floor. We mainly had to use the kitchen rather than the sitting room because the sofas gave off a unpleasant doggy odour. Some kitchen equipment had been put away unwashed by previous occupants (pans, cheese grater). No dishwasher. No freezer or freezer compartment in fridge so unable to freeze our coldpacks. No cafetiere or coffee filter. We only stayed a weekend so put up with this, but would not have been comfortable for a whole week and would have asked for the sitting room and sofas to be deep cleaned.

Beds were comfortable and lovely view over the field of cows. The house did smell of dogs which they tried to cover up with plug in air freshners. I took a dog but he does not smell as I know some do. This is very difficult I know as we are lucky to be able to take our furry friends with us. • "We have just returned from a short break at Riber View Barn and it was fantastic."

Kath (the owner) was there if you needed anything and left you to it if you didn’t, she’s a lovely hard working lady and the Barn is a credit to her and the family. There is also a little family run cafe behind the Barn for supplies if needed including meat, veg and cakes. The thing about the Barn that struck us straight away was how clean it was, it was spotless. Everything you needed was supplied. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the living room cosy. We will definitely be staying here again. We LOVED Riber View Barn.

  • "The location is fantastic."

Beautiful walking country, lovely canal nearby. The property is charming, we spent lots of time playing games at the kitchen table. The cafe next door is FANTASTIC, food is amazing. Best food we've had in a long while. The weather was great, so we also sat at the cafe's picnic tables a lot. Kath and her family made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return. One small drawback, it would make it even better, if there was some private outside space with table/chairs.

  • "Riber View Barn was everything we could have hoped for."

Stunning accommodation in a fabulous location. Straight from the barn to three open and secure fields where our Leonberger was able to run to his hearts content. The barn was equipped to a very high standard everything we needed, including a lovely cake, jams and dog treats. Geoff and Kathy were wonderful hosts and made us so welcome. Having Kath's Café on the door step was also a boon. Lovely full English at the weekend, light breakfasts on week days, lovely cakes when returning from a day out. All in all GREAT!!!
