Done to a high standard. Lounge sofa not particularly comfy but other fixtures & fittings are perfect. Very close to a pub with great food. Also the barn is well situated for exploring Yorkshire.

  • "Overall a lovely converted barn ideal for a short stay, with a warm welcome from the owner on our arrival."

A wonderful setting and we enjoyed lovely walks from the door. Just a couple of minor issues, a few broken plates, no mop for the floor and nothing to clean the kitchen with so I bought my own. Maybe a chair or something to put daily clothes on in the bedroom would be nice. The TV’s also had a mind of their own flicking channels every now and then and a cursor appearing on the screen almost like some else was using it, very strange, made the football more interesting.

The cottage was decorated to a high standard and spotless when we arrived. As this was the first time we had been away in our electric car having the charger was a godsend and took away the stress of worrying where we could charge the car. The location was fantastic with beautiful scenery and great for exploring both Yorkshire and the Peak District.

  • "Fabulous barn in a lovely quiet village with lots of lovely walks near by."

The barn has everything you need and the owners left a lovely welcome basket for us on arrival. The location is perfect and the nearest shops are only 10 minutes away including Aldi, Lidl etc. The nearest town is Holmfirth and is so nice plenty of shops to mooch around and some lovely quirky bars. Village pub The Fleece Inn is literally a stone's throw away from The Barn. They serve lovely food and also have a pantry next door where you can buy pies, cakes etc. Would Defo come back to stay and will be recommending to family and friends.

There was plenty of room for 3 of us and our 2 dogs. Everything was very clean and well looked after. There were loads of walks from the house and we didn't really need to go further afield. The weather on one day was particularly bad and we enjoyed staying in, playing cards and watching tv. As a family we agreed this was one of the best places we've stayed in and would definitely go back again. The hosts were brilliant and let us arrive early and leave a bit later which we really appreciated.

  • "A beautiful barn conversion fitted out to a very high standard throughout and situated conveniently on the edge of the Peak District."

We loved our time there. The weather was atrocious so we didn't get out and about as much as we had planned but we still managed a few long walks and found the space very comfortable for reading, puzzles, watching films etc and the kitchen was well kitted out for cooking. The local pub was fabulous and very close and we also enjoyed a couple of lunches at The Pickled Pheasant in Holmbridge. Richard was on hand for advice and help whenever we needed. Altogether a great place to recharge our batteries before Christmas and we would happily return for another visit.
