  • "Small, but exactly as advertised."

Perfect property for a couple to explore the Staffordshire Moorlands. Great having a nice pub next door, and a tearoom just up the road. Easy access to Leek and Buxton.

  • "The cottage is a perfect location for walks and hike in the Peak District."

There is only off street parking though, and we literally park outside the cottage. It’s a peaceful place, not much traffic passing by. There is a small paved front area for a couple of seats and table but it is fairly private which we used for drinks and breakfast on a warm sunny day. The house is very well equipped and has everything we need except food. The bed upstairs is most comfortable and the whole house is tastefully decorated. There is a saperate shower room and toilet. A great place to stay!

  • "Fantastically clean and cosy cottage."

Mud room with washer and dryer a big bonus after a soggy start. Bed was very comfortable and the property is well maintained. We enjoyed long walks from the cottage and also visited Tittesworth Res and Rudyard Lake. Would have been handy to know the pub next door was closed until 24th but the kitchen was well equipped and we took a tipple with us so all good! Daily visit from the nosey calves in “back garden” field was cute!

  • "The Old Post Office Barn is perfect for couples wanting to walk in the White Peak."

Located just off the Leek to Buxton road conveniently next to the lovely Ye Olde Rock Inn, with walks up onto the Roaches and down to Tittesworth Reservoir straight out of the door. The owners Robert and Helen live next door but do not intrude in any way. They have thought of absolutely everything you would need for a walking holiday; the adjacent Boot Room is so handy to keep muddy boots and wet clothes etc. The Cottage was clean, warm, and quiet, and spacious enough for 2 people. Car parking is on the road in front of the Cottage, but there is very little traffic as it is only a side road. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely cozy stay at The Old Post Office Barn."

It's a great location with fantastic views and a real countryside ambience - especially with the cow shed over the road. The cottage is small and cozy but certainly didn't feel cramped and we had all the amenities we'd need for a much longer stay than the few days we had there. It was absolutely spotlessly clean and comfortable. The pub down the road serves some fantastic food and made us feel really welcome, even without a booking on a busy valentine's day evening. Definitely worth a visit. The location felt quiet and relaxing but still had quick and easy access to Leek, Buxton, Stoke and beyond. I live in Dubai but was raised near by and used The Old Post Office Barn as a base to stay whilst visiting family with my partner. She loved it and it was a really nice way to show her my home. Thank you for a great stay - we'll be sure to visit again.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the Old Post Office Barn and look forward to welcoming you back again. Property Owner

Nice views to surrounding countryside and great walks from the cottage door or only a short drive away. The owners were lovely and very kindly rescued me when I got lost and couldn’t find my way there in the dark!

Thank you for the lovely review. We are pleased that you took advantage of the walks from the cottage and enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

The weather was dreadful and so we spent more time than expected in the property - it was so nice to be there that it really didn't matter that much. Many thanks, Rachel
