  • "Great property in lovely location"

  • "We had a lovely March holiday here!"

Gorgeous village and fabulous location. Stunning walks from the door and central for great access to other areas in the Peaks. Locals were very friendly. The pub is lovely, serves good food and drinks and isn’t noisy. It doesn’t serve children under 6 though, not a problem for us but might be for others. Parking a slight issue on Sunday, but it was due to pub goers on Mother’s Day… only once a year. Parking directly outside not often available but you don’t have to go far. We were lucky on arrival and departure as did get a space right outside. The cottage is very comfortable, spacious (for a dog and 2 adults but could easily accommodate two more), clean and tidy and excellent value for money. The decor is a little dated in places and might benefit from a little freshen up, but I liked it and as the owner rightly pointed out it wouldn’t be the price it is if she changed everything. The kitchen is very well equipped, with just about everything you might need, including cleaning products of every description, washing tablets for clothes and dishes. I would definitely recommend this cottage. A few very small suggestions for the owner would be to provide more coat hooks/ boot rack in the kitchen or by the front door, another ‘fish slice’ to protect the excellent nonstick frying pans and a better vacuum cleaner, as we struggled with that a bit. We really enjoyed our stay!
