  • "Lovely property."

    Very well equipped and clean. The road can be a bit noisy early in the morning - not a problem if you are getting up for dog walks. Maybe check with the fish and chip shop beforehand to see if they are open, if you are relying on that. The pub is very close and parking was not a problem.

The property

Millward House is a large semi-detached cottage in one of the most breath-taking positions in the Peak District National Park.

This striking property has been transformed to provide you and your loved ones with an outstanding self-catering experience, with the countryside of the Peaks just waiting to be explored.

There is plenty of character to this holiday let, with a woodburning stove in the sitting area accompanied by cream sofas where you can relax after a day exploring, as well as holding plenty of games including a football table to enjoy on those rainy days.

Across from this, the kitchen/diner boasts a light and airy feel with exposed beams, white and pastel green furnishings, as well as the bonus of a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Going up to the next floor, you will arrive at a spacious bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower.

All bedrooms have zip/link beds for added flexibility, with the first floor housing a king-size and two twin rooms, each with refreshing tones and soft furnishings.

The master lies on the top floor and offers a king-size and single bed resting under the eaves, whilst across the landing is a beautifully presented and spacious bathroom, equipped with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower.

Outside of the cottage, a collection of trees and plants form a natural landscape, and you can observe all of this from the patio area.

Nestled in the picturesque Peak District, the village of Longnor offers a delightful escape into rural tranquillity, with its charming stone cottages and winding streets, it captivates visitors with its old-world charm; you will find a shop for the essentials and a pub less than a mile away!

Explore the rugged beauty of the nearby peaks and valleys, perfect for hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers, lose yourself in the vast expanses of countryside, dotted with sheep and wildflowers, or venture into the enchanting dales, where babbling brooks and ancient woodlands beckon.

Beautiful walks and cycle routes can also be found around the area, with local towns of interest including Buxton, Bakewell, and Ashbourne, perfect for a wander around.

The charming Peak District village of Longnor is situated in beautiful countryside on the Staffordshire Moorlands/Derbyshire border, with the River Dove to the east and the River Manifold to the west, making an excellent touring centre. The village boasts a pub, a shop, a Post Office, a sweet shop, café tea room, fish and chip shop, and a beautiful church. The historic market square is cobbled and a scale of market charges is still posted on a board outside the market hall. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, the Spa town of Buxton with its famous Opera House, the attractive market town of Bakewell and Alton Towers theme park are all within easy reach.
