  • "A really unusual residence!"

We enjoyed the olde worlde vibe with some modern essentials like the shower, central heating and dishwasher!! Overall a super stay.... we dined at the Charlton and parked in their car park. It was no hardship!!

1/ bad musty and chemical smell possibly coming from next door which is completely derelict 2/windows dirty and full of cobwebs 3/mirror fell off wardrobe door when opened 4/bedroom curtain holder feel off wall 5/no welcome pack 6/broken flush handle on wc 7/front door Mortice lock very difficult to lock 8/no instructions or visitors comment book 9/kitchen not very well organized

Thank you for your feedback. If you had let us know any of the above issues we would have sorted them all out for you immediately. We have attended the property this week and realised that Severn Trent who had accessed the property a week before your visit to sort out a blockage in the road before your visit hadn't refitted the grid lid in the cellar properly. Had you made us aware it would have been dealt with immediately. Next door is waiting for permission from the listed buildings authority which unfortunately is out of our control. The windows are clean inside but the outside did need cleaning and we have chased up the window cleaner who is due to come to the property, again had you let us know we would have contacted the cleaning team. The mirror in the wardrobe needed a screw refitting which has now been done and we have siliconed sealed the curtain holder which although shouldn't have been loose I wouldn't expect it to have spoilt your holiday. There is a welcome book in the TV drawer which seems have disappeared, we have no idea who has taken it and have searched the property but also we do send you lots of information via email before any guest visits which you must have received to have been able to get access to the property. If you meant a welcome pack of goodies we leave tea, coffee - instant and ground coffee, sugar, all cleaning supplies, dishwasher tablets and a bottle of Prosecco. The broken handle on the WC has been fixed, again without guests letting us know it is difficult to always know faults, we do ask the cleaning team to report any breakages to us. The front door is listed and had a new lock fitted a few months ago, you may have to pull the door towards you but it does always lock and unlock. We have gone through all the kitchen cupboards and reorganised them although they were fairly organised in the first place. The guests before you left a 5 star review on Airbnb but unfortunately it seems in this instance we cannot please everybody all of the time and we apologise for any breakages. Property Owner

  • "Characterful property in a handy position on edge of town, next to river and on doorstep of lovely walks."

Requested parking in my Sykes listing but there was no parking and did not know this until final details received but asked at Charleton Arms next door and they kindly allowed us to use their car park which was also excellent for food and evening drinks on the terrace overlooking the river. Property well equipped but missed a wardrobe in main bedroom, however wall hooks provided behind door. Drawers very stiff to open, bed comfortable. I agree with listing that stairs would prove difficult with mobility issues & down to cellar. There is a lot of traffic noise as house is on busy road. Mostly clean but there was evidence of animal hairs around. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return.

  • "Ludlow is a must see!"

The lovely and well equipped house is located in a stunning location with great views out the back over the river. It is situated on a main road into Ludlow and this makes the parking difficult, as no allocated parking within close proximity.

  • "Instructions on how to use the dishwasher would have helped."

The pilot light was out on the boiler so it took a while to get hot water when we arrived. The attic bedrooms could do with a brighter light. The stairs can be quite slippery being polished wood. However, we had a wonderful stay, the cottage was warm and comfortable, especially the beds. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this cottage again .
