"Just had a great week in Ludlow."
The Mews is really well placed to visit the town (a 5 minute walk ) and surrounding areas, and also with the bonus of a parking space. We loved the quirkiness of this property,we have never been in one like it and doubt we would find one again ! The property was lovely and clean, nice and warm and had plenty of hot water. Thank-you...We hope to stay again in the future
Thank you for such a great review we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Ludlow and our flat. we hope to host you again . regards Jon and Angie Property Owner

"It would be reassuring if the electrical appliances were PAT tested."
The uneven flooring proved a challenge for my partially sighted wife. Otherwise the flat was clean, well equipped and a great base to explore Ludlow.
Hi, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in Ludlow. As a safety note all our electrics are less than 2 years old so we don't believe PAT testing is needed currently also the flat does have RCD circuits on all ring mains. with regards, Jon. Property Owner

"A lovely small top floor flat in a former town centre inn, with quirky sloping floor due to the age of the building."
Comfy bed, modern kitchen area, rather small bath with overhead shower, tv works on streaming only. A few books and DVDs supplied, together with tourist material. Very narrow entrance to parking area, but our SUV just made it - very handy to be able to walk everywhere with ease.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Ludlow. Property Owner

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at No 38C."
Despite the bitter cold the apartment was cosy and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for our weeks stay, the bed extremely comfortable and shower over the bath was fine. We appreciated the secure car parking at the back of the premises, given parking is not particularly easy in the town. There was a small problem in the apartment that arose whilst we were there and Kevin the caretaker was most helpful is sorting it out and keeping us informed. Would stay again and recommend the property as a great place to stay. Thank you
Hi Sarah, we are very pleased you had a enjoyable stay in Ludlow and our flat, sorry about the washing machine issue Kevin kept us updated and it too. weare pleased you had everything you needed and yes we agree parking is a real benefit. have a lovely Christmas Property Owner

The flat is clean and perfectly adequate for two people. The location in the town centre with a parking space couldn’t be much better. We would definitely recommend.

"COMFORT: The bed was comfortable."
Settee broken down and impossible to sit on properly. 'Dining' table drawer meant it was impossible to sit with legs under. Nowhere to hang washing if you use washing machine. Traffic noise intrusive to sleep and television watching (even with windows closed and blinds down). Lots of cushions supplied. CLEANLINESS: Kitchen area, tops, fridge, hob and oven clean. Crockery and saucepans dirty with ingrained food and (removable) stains on mugs. Dust++ behind bedside cabinet on skirting (easily cleanable). SAFETY: Rug (lounge) trip hazard due to being ruckled. Step just inside bathroom - no warning and not in description. Gateleg 'dining' table very rickety (partly due to additions to legs to accommodate differences in floor height and also moved if anyone walking by it (due to floorboards). The slopes of the floor (not mentioned in description) are a hazard in kitchen dining area, especially if carrying hot liquids. I have balance problems and found the floor difficult. Lacks adequate handrail to get in and out of bath. FACILITIES: Well equipped kitchen area with small worktop space. Small television has no aerial so no Freeview or Freesat, just app only (no subscriptions included). This small flat boasts lots of extras such as antique wooden cap-stretcher, plastic flowers in chamber pot, antique trouser and jacket hanger, and many plastic flowers arrangements (including in bathroom).
Dear guest, we are very upset to hear you found our lovely flat so disappointing. As you can see from our previous feedback nearly everyone else finds it very nice and welcoming. A few points i must clear up; The SMART TV has Freeview and ITV hub, BBC , C4 etc on Fibre (not using Aerial or Satellite) you needed to press the "Freeview" button on the remote as per the written instructions. The location of our property is in the town centre on a main throughfare, so road nose is unavoidable (the location is made clear) most people again find the location and free parking a benefit, not disappointing. I asked the current tenant if our Sofa was, and I Quote you, "Settee broken down" they confirmed they had been sitting on it all week and found it very comfortable and not at all "broken down", so someone is wrong here. The table is big enough for two people we have eaten at it ourselves. NB; There is a clothes rack in the bedroom wardrobe if you had needed to dry clothes after using the washing machine. I suspect you could have easily found it if you had looked half as hard as it seems you looked for dust behind the bedroom side cabinets. Yes, the floors are wonky the house was built 300+ years ago, again most people find this a quirk but again we had no prior knowledge of your balance issues. if you had asked, we would have made this clear at booking. We find a total score of 44% very un-fare; however, we wish you well in your future holiday let bookings. With regards, The Owners Property Owner

"We stayed at this property for almost 3 weeks in July/Aug 2023 and loved the thoughtful conveniences within the apartment, the communication with the owner and local manager, and its location in a picturesque small town with beautiful hills (as well as walking distance to groceries, Ludlow Castle, historic marketplace, foodie places, and bus/train stations)."
Yes, it is an old building with some uneven spots on the floor under the carpet, but that's to be expected with these wonderful historic places. The owner re-modeled the apartment beautifully, and we couldn't have been happier in our choice of lodgings! We would definitely stay there again if we make it back there from the U.S.!
Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our Flat and your time Ludlow and the UK, we would welcome you back anytime. With our best regards, Jon & Angie. Property Owner

"Second time my wife and I have stopped here."
It has almost everything you could want including a car parking space. The apartment is clean, bed really comfortable and we didn't have any noise from the road outside. Its a 5 minute walk to the town centre, similar time to the tap room at the brewery, a couple of minutes to the supermarkets - very conveniently situated. For a quirky experience try the Dog Hangs Well pub down and opposite - look out for the old street light - lit when its open - no mobiles and cash only.
Hi Robin, We are so pleased to hear you both found a "home away from home" and we are very pleased you liked it so much you came back :) We are very flattered by your kind comments. We love our Ludlow home away from home too. The Parlor Pub over the road you mention is quite unique and certainly worth a visit, With our kind regards Jon & Angie. Property Owner

"Lovely characterful apartment in an ideal location near the centre of Ludlow."
Great to not need our car at all as is within walking distance of everything needed, and train to other local to towns.
Thank you for your kind words, we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay in our Apartment. Ludlow is very easy to explore on foot from it you are correct, With our best regards, Jon & Angie. Property Owner

"We really enjoyed our stay in the flat."
Centrally located in Ludlow, we never needed the car over our 4 day stay! There was a problem with the boiler and we had no hot water, but it was dealt with on the day we reported it to the management company. The flat was perfect for two. It had everything we needed for a lovely break away.
Hi Jane, thank you for your kind words. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay in our Flat & that your enjoyed Ludlow, it's a very special place we think. The hot water was a frustration for us too as we had the cylinder inspected in December and it was given a clean bill of health! Typical I suppose but Kevin is a great property manager and super organiser for us, we are pleased he sorted it quickly. We hope it did not disrupt you too much and again thanks for the lovely feedback. Best Regards, Jon & Angie. Property Owner

"Great location and lovely quirky apartment suitable for two."
Caretaker service by Kevin excellent. Two minor issues. a) The directions to the property need to be more explicit in how you actually get to the property. The passage leading to the property/car parking is very narrow and though we found where the building was on Corve St we couldn't see how we could reach it! It would help if it said "Access is via the narrow passage between numbers 137 and 138." b) The TV has a very small screen which could be an issue for many people nowadays as well as for those with less than perfect vision. However, what needs addressing is that only TV apps via Freeview player are usable which means that only BBC channels are available to watch live.
Hi Robert, thank you for your feedback, we will add the words "Access is via the narrow passage between numbers 137 and 138." to our listing. The TV I am sorry about this the TV is only 6 months Old and I was told via email ITV were updating their Freeview software and our TV would no longer be supported! So, we have to buy a new TV now, it seems such a waste of equipment that's nearly new and is now apparently "obsolete " Other than that, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. "Clean and well equipped property."
Comfortable bed and ample storage space in a very good location - only a short walk into the historic town of Ludlow. It was easy to check into the property, following the instructions given and it was a massive advantage to have a car parking space at the rear. The building was historic and quirky - with slightly uneven floors but this added to its charm. We enjoyed our stay.
Hi Sheila, thank you for your kind words and we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay in Ludlow and our Flat. We agree the location is perfect and we also love the quirks of the old place :) With our regards Jon & Angie. Property Owner

"The apartment was as described so no disappointments and we found the stairs to the 3rd floor were easy to manage."
The apartment was quirky, with bent beams and sloping floors which added to the character. Even on the hottest day of the year it maintained a comfortable temperature if you had the blinds down. The bed and pillows were comfy and the bedroom quite spacious with a good wardrobe. It had most things you require including hairdryer and iron, we did however find the TV difficult to operate. The parking was an advantage (£1.80/ hour outside the property) and once you got through the narrow entrance (opposite the orange / pink house) it was fine, I got through with a BMW330 with some space to spare. The caretaker left us a fan due to the hot weather - so we were well looked after. This was our second visit to Ludlow which is a lovely place especially for foodies (try The Church, Golden Moments, The Blue Boar, Mortimer's and Bistro 7), but would advise to book in advance. There's also Ludlow Brewery only 5 minutes walk away with a tap house, also a Tesco and Aldi within 5 minutes. Traffic noise was minimal - mainly on recycling day.
Hi Robin, We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our flat and in Ludlow. We agree, It is a very peaceful flat even though it's in the centre of all the action. Parking as you mention is expensive and difficult in Ludlow at times, so we are very lucky to have space for guests to park free of charge. We are pleased the UK heatwave did not affect you too much and the fan was no problem to leave, my mother popped it over for you as we worried the temperatures were going to be extreme. Righty said, there are some great places to eat and drink in Ludlow we love the wheatsheaf Inn ( lower Broad street ) and Ludlow brewery too. Thank you for the lovely feedback. our regards, Jon & angie Property Owner

"Great location and Ludlow is a compact historic town with all facilities (town and flat)."
I recognised the narrow entrance but could not find much on what sort of car could be driven in. Once in loads of space so that is a real bonus in Ludlow. My daughter found it (narrow entrance warning) on another part of website, but that was after I had booked. I can confirm a med-large SUV can get in but it was tight and the locals would stop and watch as I went in and out! The slopping floor is either a quirky reature or a real pain depending on your point of view. If it was actually built (into the loft space) like this I would be surprised and (as an ex building inspector) do not think it would get approved now. I missed the strip the bed instruction which was buried in the mid-stay email until it was too late (out by 09.30?) - this should be in the instructions on booking. I know the prices have all gone up as we look for staycations but not cheap - would probably look for another flat/cottage next visit.
Hi Robert, Thank you for your feedback. Firstly the Bed stripping is a Sykes site wide COVID policy, obviously under normal circumstance this would not be required. However we have changed the departure time to 10am after your feedback. Parking is a premium in Ludlow , we are very fortunate to have such a large parking area available for all the properties at 138 Corve Street, we have given detailed information on how to best enter the narrow driveway and where to park in the email issued at booking but I am sorry this caused you some difficulties. Access is tight but I have seen our plumbers Transit van enter and exit so this gives a good measure! The Third floor i.e. 138C is not actually built into the Loft Space as you say, its a floor in its own right and was built like this in about 1780. ( there is a loft space above ) As for pricing I believe we are competitive for Ludlow "Old Town" with free parking included. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to Ludlow we certainly love the Town. Kind regards, Jon & Angie Property Owner
