  • "The Cottage is a beautiful, clean property with a lovely garden and out door swimming pool."

    It definitely has the wow factor! We had warm sunny weather and used the pool every day. Lots of places to visit near by, the National Memorial Arboretum is 5 minutes away and well worth a visit.

The Cottage is a charming, self-contained guest house nestled into the grounds of Orgreave House, an elegant Georgian country residence resting in Orgreave near Alrewas.

Occupying a two-acre garden, and with the added opulence of a swimming pool and tennis court on request, this simply stunning property is an ideal abode for two couples, friends, or a family looking to explore the countryside of Staffordshire.

The Cottage is approached by a picturesque, sweeping gravel driveway, offering a secure gated entrance and off-road parking for two cars.

Upon entering this stunning property, find yourself in a contemporary open-plan living space, fitted with skylights providing plenty of natural light.

Within this space you will find a kitchen which has been thoughtfully renovated to include cream wall and base units, solid oak Butcher block worktops, a stylish Belfast sink, and ample amenities to cater to your culinary needs.

Here there is also a dining space for hearty mealtimes, and a stylish sitting area with a woodburning stove set to a character brickwork and beam lintel fireplace, and views across the beautiful Victorian walled garden and swimming pool.

Outside, discover a simply dreamy sitting area with rattan furniture, offering a great spot to dine alfresco, complemented by a glass of fizz, along with the added indulgence of an outdoor swimming pool for those balmy evenings.

Bedroom one offers a spacious king-size bedroom, with windows to three sides, a fitted wardrobe and a fitted cupboard housing the boiler.

This room also offers private use of an en-suite shower room with a Heritage suite fitted with wash basin set to vanity unit, low level WC and shower, with tiled flooring, tiled splash backs and a window to the side aspect.

On the ground-floor bedroom two awaits, and is another superb king-size bedroom with an exposed beam, windows to the front and an en-suite with a traditional Neptune suite comprising of a wash basin set to vanity unit, low level WC and a walk in shower, with half tiling to walls, tiled splash backs and a chrome heated towel rail.

When you feel like exploring, head out into the town of Alrewas, where you will find a convenience store for all of your holiday essentials, as well as a pub.

Close by there is the National Memorial Arboretum (Alrewas, Staffordshire), and the town of Lichfield where you can explore Lichfield Cathedral, Wall Roman Site, and beyond this you will find Tamworth Castle.

The cities of Birmingham and Nottingham are within reach of the property, however if you wish to spend some time outdoors, stroll through the Cannock Chase National Landscape, or head over to the Peak District National Park, where there are many walks, birdwatching opportunities, and mountain biking trails, including those at The Roaches, Kinder Scout, Three Shires Head, and Thors Cave.

There is simply so much to be explored with a memorable stay at The Cottage.
