  • "Second time and couldn’t ask for much more."

Spotless, bed and sofa comfy, kitchen huge with everything you would need. Location great. Pubs and chippy nearby. Still a 5/5 from me.

Enter via the enclosed front garden with a lawn and patio, a lovely spot to savour a hot cup of tea in the morning sunshine; this attractive cottage has contemporary, sleek features throughout with rustic furnishings to retain a cottage feel.

Set the dining table for four in the gorgeous kitchen/diner, with soft tones, wooden countertops, and excellent amenities to rustle up your favourite meals, including a range cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer.

After trekking through the Peak District, the warmth of a woodburning stove awaits in the sitting room; sink into the plush seating, put your feet up and watch a family-favourite on the TV.

The rear, enclosed garden is another social spot to dine alfresco at the outdoor seating or let the little ones play safely with your canine companions!

Find a beautiful, contemporary bathroom to hang your towel on the heated towel rail and choose between a relaxing bubble bath or a hot rinse in the spacious walk-in shower, before retiring to one of two bedrooms.

A double and a twin room complete the property to curl up under the sheets ready for the next day's adventures.

The centre of Matlock offers fantastic self-catering amenities, including shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafés to fuel your day, alongside family-friendly attractions such as nostalgic trips on vintage trains along the Peak Rail and plenty of parks to picnic and play.

Bakewell is a historic market town with plenty of tearooms to choose from, as well as the popular Bakewell Bridge and The Old House, a Tudor house from Henry VIII's reign featuring local artifacts.

If you're hungry for more history, Haddon Hall is a medieval manor house just south of Bakewell, with a grand Tudor hall and Elizabethan gardens to explore.

For more amenities, the larger town of Chesterfield provides plenty to keep the whole family entertained, from cinemas and theatres to Tapton Golf Course!
