We were greeted and shown around by the owner - there was a small welcome pack of essential items provided which included some delicious jam made on the premises. Ideally placed for Telford, the Ironbridge museums, and Shrewsbury. Close enough to all of these and yet very peaceful in an old country house well away from the hustle and bustle of busy towns and traffic.

We had a lovely warm welcome from Mark who showed us round. So much attention to detail, gorgeous comfy accommodation, we felt immediately at home. We really enjoyed the welcome pack too. Such a beautiful setting and the courtyard was wonderful, we'd love to come back in summer and sit out there with a glass of wine and enjoy the lovely planting and gardenalia. Lots of nearby places to see, David Austin rose centre a must for fellow gardeners and Ironbridge and Blists Hill excellent and well worth a visit.

Mark, Adrian and staff were very welcoming and lovely to chat to but also allowing us privacy on our holiday (kindly storing and watering our plants that we purchased locally). Lots to see with Ironbridge museums close by, David Austin roses and RAF Cosford. We had such an amazing break we are returning in September, would highly recommend.

  • "Comfortable, quiet, quirky, clean, relaxing and the guys were always helpful and responded to all our reasonable requests."

There was no street lighting so we could actual see lots of stars in the night sky. We had two choices for sitting in the open, outside in the communal, colourful planted court yard which was also full of interesting objects or at our own table and chairs in the walled garden, a real sun trap. Nothing but bird sound and the odd helicopter. A bit of a puzzle that one, backwards and forwards a lot of the time in daylight, working hours. All in all we had a very chilled and relaxing holiday which was our intention. Lovely to have had the opportunity to use the wood burner in the evenings. There was sunshine in the lounge in the afternoon and evenings. We were really impressed with the heating provided for this time of the year when you really need to feel warmth in the mornings and evenings. It still has vintage, cast iron radiator central heating, storage heaters, addition free standing electric heaters if required and the lovely wood burner with its comforting glow. The four living spaces and large hallway where well decorated and interesting, especially the framed history of the attached building Meeson Hall. It is always nice to have plenty of space to park this just outside the courtyard.

  • "The cottage really is superb."

In a beautiful quiet, rural location - but only a few miles back to the A road. Great for exploring Ironbridge, the Wrekin (definitely walk to the top - it's hard-going but well worth it), and all over Shropshire. Took our bikes and the quiet country lanes round about were delightful for exploring. House exceptionally clean and tidy and kitchen was really well equipped - modern cooker, dishwasher, fridge. Lovely welcome pack of eggs, delicious crusty bread and some jam. The courtyard is full of flowers in pots and very charming. Also nice to chat to other people staying in the other cottage if you want to - if not, there is a private area round the side and a large garden at the back. The grounds are very impressive. Host was extremely friendly and gave great advice on where to go. Recommend the Lion at Waters Upton for a curry - we walked but it is a couple of miles each way. No bathtub, which is literally the only non-positive thing I can think to say. Would recommend to anyone. Lovely part of the world, and a great place to stay in style to explore it.
